Support for the provision of “digital immortality” based on physical informatics methods

The improvement of modern computer technology to achieve fundamentally new indicators can be carried out on the basis of various approaches. One of such approaches is the application of methods of physical informatics. Therefore, this paper considers the support of ensuring “digital immortality” based on physical computer science methods. On the basis of Wiener random processes, measures are proposed to ensure the security of computer nodes to ensure “digital immortality”. The calculated ratios from physical informatics adapted to determine the requirements for the design of information systems to ensure the digitalization of the brain are given.

A Research on CALL-Based POA in English Writing Teaching

The combination of production-oriented approach (POA) and modern computer technology makes English learning and teaching more convenient and efficient. Pelatihan Literasi Digital Pada Sekolahrumah Salihah Yogyakarta: Animasi, Poster Digital, Video Dan Gim

Young people could learn and use technology in formal, informal and nonformal education effortlessly. As a legal nonformal education, homeschooling programs become more popular because the programs demonstrate some advantages, such as customized learning materials, personalized learning methods, and flexible learning schedules. However, some homeschooling communities face several problems related to digital literacy skill because of lack of teachers’ capacity and tools. To support digital literacy, a series of training has been conducted for teachers and students at Salihah Homeschool, Yogyakarta. It consisted of training of modern computer technology for teachers and multimedia training for students and parents. The second training taught students on how to make digital posters, videos, animations, and games related to Covid-19 pandemic. Survey showed half of the students were happy with the training activities. Furthermore, the most preferred lessons were animation and digital posters, while game and video tutorials were perceived difficult. Nevertheless, student participation showed a declining trend since the second day of training. Moreover, some parents expressed happiness with the training contents, but there were also parents who found difficulty as the parents were novice users. It implies future efforts to promote positive awareness of the ease of using IT and continuous monitoring to improve digital literacy.

Digital wisdom in research work

Purpose/Thesis Digital wisdom is understood as the ability to use modern computer technology wisely to improve thinking and decision-making and to share results (Prensky, 2012a, p. 47). The aim of this article is to present selected digital tools that contribute to increasing the effectiveness of scientific research and facilitate conceptual work, information retrieval, note taking and the writing up of research. Approach/Methods The basic stages of the research process were distinguished, and for each of them a tool (a computer program) was selected that directly increases work efficiency and features functions that exceed human capabilities. Results and conclusions The latest digital tools are equipped with features that improve effectiveness at all stages of the research process. The improvement includes both speeding up completion of a task (e.g. searching for information) and showing relationships between documents or individual concepts that are barely noticeable by human standards (e.g. through the visualization of data and information). Originality/Value The skillful use of modern digital tools is a fundamental element of digital wisdom as computer programs and web applications significantly broaden human perception and cognitive capabilities.
