Residential buildings are being renovated around the world, especially apartments, their solutions are becoming increasingly important. The number of apartments in Korea that are more than 20 years old has reached 4.3 million, and the problem of aged apartments now needs to be addressed. Consequently, the government is promoting the improvement of the residential environment through renovation. In a renovation project, a feasibility study is conducted at the outset, but many apartments fail to complete the renovation process during the project. One reason is that feasibility studies focus on economics without sufficiently considering the technical aspects of the redesign. This study developed a feasibility study model that can pre-evaluate apartment renovation in terms of technology. We selected 27 criteria that affect technical feasibility, and the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) was performed with experts to derive the relative importance of the criteria. Based on the weight of the criteria, we developed an apartment renovation technology feasibility study model. As a result of the study, unit and complex conditions were found to have a significant influence on renovation. Moreover, it was found that the technical feasibility study model can quantitatively evaluate the technical aspects of an apartment to be renovated.

This study aimed at analyze the content of biology books for the secondary and intermediate stages to reveal the periods of interruption in presenting concepts related to the digestive system, endocrine glands and nutrition, and to provide a summary of these concepts before the process of teaching them. To achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher chose two secondary schools in an intentional manner and chose (98) students from them random manner, distributed among two divisions from each school, one experimental and the other as a control group. The members of the experimental group studied using the tribal summaries of the previous requirements, while the members of the control group studied in the traditional way. The researcher conducted an achievement test for the two groups. The results of the study showed that there was a break in teaching these concepts for more than 30 months, and also showed that the students of the experimental group outperformed the control group in the achievement test. Based on these results, the study recommends taking into account the principles of sequencing and continuity in teaching biology concepts in general, and the need to provide a summary before each study unit or lesson that addresses the previous concepts necessary for new learning.

Abstract In this study, unit-speed the Legendre curves are studied in Sasakian 3-manifold. Firstly, differential equations characterizing the Legendre curves are obtained and the method used for the approximate solution is explained. Then, the approximate solution is found for one of the characterizations of the Legendre curve with the Legendre matrix collocation method. In addition, a sample application is made to make the method more understandable. And finally, with the help of these equations and the approximate solution, the geometric properties of this curve type are examined.

AbstractThe germline is a key feature of sexual animals and the ways in which it separates from the soma differ widely across Metazoa. However, at least at some point during germline differentiation, some cytoplasmic supramolecular structures (collectively called germ plasm-related structures) are present and involved in its specification and/or differentiation. The factors involved in the assembly of these granular structures are various and non-ubiquitous among animals, even if some functional patterns and the presence of certain domains appear to be shared among some. For instance, the LOTUS domain is shared by Oskar, the Holometabola germ plasm master regulator, and some Tudor-family proteins assessed as being involved in the proper assembly of germ granules of different animals. Here, we looked for the presence of LOTUS-containing proteins in the transcriptome of Ruditapes philippinarum (Bivalvia). Such species is of particular interest because it displays annual renewal of gonads, sided by the renewal of germline differentiation pathways. Moreover, previous works have identified in its early germ cells cytoplasmic granules containing germline determinants. We selected the orthologue of TDRD7 as a candidate involved in the early steps of germline differentiation through bioinformatic predictions and immunohistological patterning (immunohistochemistry and immunofluorescence). We observed the expression of the protein in putative precursors of germline cells, upstream to the germline marker Vasa. This, added to the fact that orthologues of this protein are involved in the assembly of germ granules in mouse, zebrafish, and fly, makes it a worthy study unit for investigations on the formation of such structures in bivalves.

PurposeThe purpose of this paper is to describe the design and delivery of a lesson study unit in mathematics to pre-service primary teachers and to identify the opportunities and challenges resulting from the need to deliver the unit wholly online due to the COVID-19 pandemic.Design/methodology/approachCross-case analysis, using a before-and-after design, was used to compare the development and delivery of the unit in 2019 and 2020, with the pivotal event of interest between the before-and-after cases being the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.FindingsThe content and structure of the unit, as well as its collaborative aspects, remained substantially the same in the before-and-after cases. While there was a low level of engagement with pre-recorded lectures, there was a high level of engagement and participation in the online synchronous seminars, together with a marked increase in overall satisfaction with the unit. Pre-service teachers were unable to teach and observe one another's planned research lessons in school. Instead, after a detailed examination of the task, the lesson plan and student solutions, they observed a pre-recorded video of a research lesson at a local school and participated in a streamed post-lesson discussion. Pre-service teachers regarded this new component as a highlight of the unit and an important connection between the theory and practice of lesson study.Originality/valueThe inclusion of the video-recorded research lesson in 2020 introduced a new level of authenticity for pre-service teachers, allowing them to observe a high quality structured problem solving mathematics lesson taught in a local public school, as part of a local implementation of lesson study-something that is not generally possible. While there is often a view that the benefits of lesson study result mainly from collaborative planning and teaching of the research lesson, this paper highlights the value of involvement for all participants in research lesson observation and post-lesson discussion, as well as the opportunities afforded by the use of “virtual lesson study”.

Background: Pneumococcal conjugate vaccine (PCV-13) has been introduced in India in a phased manner. In Haryana it was introduced in 2017. The adverse events following immunization (AEFI) with PCV in real community setting are yet to be detected. Objective: To calculate the incidence and associated factors for various AEFI after pneumococcal vaccination at a tertiary centre of Faridabad, Haryana. Methodology: The descriptive observational study was conducted from April through October 2019 at the immunization centre of a tertiary care centre of Faridabad, Haryana. Each dose of PCV-13 given to the infants attending immunization centre was the study unit. A telephonic contact was done within 24 hours, after 48 hours and between 5-7 days to enquire about any adverse events (minor & major), if occurred. Results: A total of 135 PCV-13 doses were followed up for any AEFIs. 113 AEFIs (incidence: 67.3 per 100 dose) reported in 93 infants. Incidence of fever was 45 per 100 dose followed by tenderness and erythema (39 per 100 doses for each). Incidence of Swelling was 21 per 100 doses. Conclusion: Active surveillance and co administration of Pentavalent vaccine could have resulted in higher proportion of AEFIs.

Madhya Pradesh state is growing rapidly in the agricultural agriculture sector since last few years. The State is making a significant contribution to the country's vegetable oil production. Soyabean crop is produced on a large scale. The objective of the study was to examine the farm size and productivity relationship of soyabean cultivation in Madhya Pradesh empirically. In the present study, unit-level secondary data published by DES were used. The results showed positive relationship between farm size and productivity. Agriculture is the primary source of livelihood for small farmers, although the size of the farm was small but was looked after with the help of family members. Nevertheless, the use of high yielding variety seeds (HYV) and the use of modern technology resulted in to direct relationship between farm size and productivity. Soybean productivity had a positive and significant relationship with use of labour machinery, that chemical fertilizers, manure and pesticides. However, at the same time, it was found that use of animal, seeds and irrigation machines had a significant negative relation with productivity.
