Technology is a necessity that cannot be separated from life today. Daily activities are made easier and even dismiss distance, space, and time. This convenience provides cost savings, increases time use quality, and even changes a business process. This study aims to analyze the model of consumer behavior of generation X in the use of digital transactions. This research is a quantitative approach with 73 respondents who fit the qualifications. The data was collected using a questionnaire which was then tested for validity, reliability, and model fit using the WarpPLS 6.0 analysis tool. The test results explained that consumption behavior mediated cultural factors do not directly affect the generation of digital transaction X (the value path coefficient H1 equals -0007 P = 0,28). Psychological factors have a direct influence on digital transactions Generation X (H2 has a value of path coefficients 0,12 and P = 0,15), but it has indirect influence the results of the mediation of the variable consumption behavior against the decision transaction generation digital X (the value path coefficient 0.728, P<0.001, and R-Squared 0.57) with the model fit testing the VIF value of 1.236, and the GoF value of 0.411. The limitation of this study is that the population only focuses on generation X.

Purpose of the study: Since the process of globalization is reshaping the thoughts of individuals about the world and creating uniform consumption patterns, the present study is designed to investigate that how globalization is changing the consumption patterns of the people living in Punjab, Pakistan. Methodology: The present study has collected primary data from the three big cities of Punjab, Pakistan. A quantitative research method is applied to carry out results. Both paper-pencil and web-based methods were used to collect data. Using multistage sampling, sophisticated estimation techniques, such as Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM), are applied to obtain the results. Main findings: The results of CFA confirm that the variable globalization is constructed with the help of commerce, information communication and technology (ICT), and education while the variable consumption patterns variable is measured with the help of physiological needs, communication needs, and ethnic household consumption. The results of SEM show that globalization is changing the consumption patterns of the individuals living in Punjab, Pakistan. Application of the study: The outcome of the present study shows that globalization through Multinational Corporations (MNCs), ICT, and education is changing the consumption patterns of individuals. This study draws the attention of policymakers to fix the minimum wage rate for workers working in MNCs and compel MNCs to revise their pricing policy. Novelty/ Originality of the study: The present study is a rare initiative as, to the best of the researcher’s knowledge; there is not even a single study that has considered all the dimensions of globalization and consumption patterns. This study is an important contribution as it fulfils various gaps that exist in the existing literature.

A novel variant of NSN P systems, called numerical spiking neural P systems with a variable consumption strategy (NSNVC P systems), is proposed. Like the spiking rules consuming spikes in spiking neural P systems, NSNVC P systems introduce a variable consumption strategy by modifying the form of the production functions used in NSN P systems. Similar to the delay feature of the spiking rules, NSNVC P systems introduce a postponement feature into the production functions. The execution of the production functions in NSNVC P systems is controlled by two, i.e., polarization and threshold, conditions. Multiple synaptic channels are used to transmit the charges and the production values in NSNVC P systems. The proposed NSNVC P systems are a type of distributed parallel computing models with a directed graphical structure. The Turing universality of the proposed NSNVC P systems is proved as number generating/accepting devices. Detailed descriptions are provided for NSNVC P systems as number generating/accepting devices. In addition, a universal NSNVC P system with 66 neurons is constructed as a function computing device.

Islamic banking takes part in the Indonesian economic and financial system which contributes to the dynamics of eeconomic growth. The number of Islamic banks in Indonesia, through its market share, is still quite small, namely 5.95% in 2019 of the total national banking market share. One of the main activities of Islamic banking is channeling financing through financing based on the type of use and business category. This study aims to determine the short-term and long-term contribution of Islamic banking to Indonesia's economic growth using the Vector Error Correction Model (VECM) method. The data used in this study are quarterly secondary data of real Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and financing based on the use and category of Indonesian Islamic banking business types, which consist of working capital financing, investment financing and consumption financing. The results showed that in the short and long term, the variable consumption financing had a significant negative effect on Indonesia's economic growth.

This study aims to find out the most dominant factors and determine the districts in Madura that require special attention from the observed model so that it can provide benefits for policymakers, and the research method used is panel data with the OLS square approach. The results of panel data regression with the fix effect model show the results that the variables that have a positive and significant influence are the GRDP at a 5% confidence level in the GRDP variable with a positive direction while the open unemployment variable has a significant negative effect having a 6% confidence level with a negative direction. Variable consumption expenditure does not have a significant effect but has a positive direction. Intercept values differ in each district which shows the uniqueness of the model of the fixed effect. The highest intercept values were Pamekasan Sampang, Bangkalan and Sumenep. From the results of the HDI classification, the Sampang has a low classification of the district vocationally on Madura Island. The results of the classification of expenditure of basic and lowest consumption of staples in 2012 and 2018 were Pamekasan and Sumenep. The results of the classification of the highest open unemployment rates were in Bangkalan in 2012 and 2018. The lowest GRDP classification was in Pamekasan districts in 2012 and 2017.

Simulations of natural gas pipeline transients provide an insight into a pipeline capacity to deliver gas to consumers or to accumulate gas from source wells during various abnormal conditions and under variable consumption rates. This information is used for the control of gas pressure and for planning repairs in a timely manner. Therefore, a numerical model and a computer code have been developed for the simulation of natural gas transients in pipelines. The developed approach is validated by simulations of test cases from the open literature. Detailed analyses of both slow and fast gas flow transients are presented. Afterward, the code is applied to the simulation of transients in a long natural gas transmission pipeline. The simulated scenarios cover common operating conditions and abrupt disturbances. The simulations of the abnormal conditions show a significant accumulation capacity and inertia of the gas within the pipeline, which enables gas packing and consumers supply during the day time period. Since the numerical results are obtained under isothermal gas transient conditions, an analytical method for the evaluation of the difference between isothermal and nonisothermal predictions is derived. It is concluded that the nonisothermal transient effects can be neglected in engineering predictions of natural gas packing in long pipelines during several hours. The prescribed isothermal temperature should be a few degrees higher than the soil temperature due to the heat generation by friction on the pipelines wall and heat transfer from the gas to the surrounding soil.

Purpose While economists are increasingly acknowledging the importance of distributional issues, the distribution of the consumption of food items has largely been neglected. The purpose of this paper is to demonstrate that important insights can be obtained by analysing the distribution of consumption of food products within society. Design/methodology/approach This study was conducted by analysing food consumption in two very different countries: Romania, a middle-income country and Switzerland, one of the most prosperous countries in the world. In order to test the formulated hypotheses, consumption per capita was calculated, as a base for the calculation of the Gini coefficient of consumption for each product. A mixed effect model was applied for total food and for meat, computing the predictors for the variable “consumption distribution”. Findings Using the Gini coefficients of food and drink item consumption by Romanian and Swiss households, the authors tested the hypothesis that in prosperous middle-income countries the homogeneity of food consumption is growing over time as a sign of consumption democratisation, whereas in high-income countries a growing degree of individualisation is leading to decreasing homogeneity. For meat, the bifurcation of consumption patterns between vegetarians and hedonists leads to a growing Gini coefficient over time for both countries. The analysis controls for factors such as the products’ importance in the diet and their price. Originality/value The paper approaches a new subject and raises a new research question that may be relevant for structural issues of contemporary society. Both the comparative analysis of food distribution in two different societies and their dynamics is a novelty.
