Dhantadhavana is an important procedure for maintaining the oral hygiene. In Ayurveda there is detail explanation about Dantadhavana methods, procedure, action of drugs, benefits etc. due to civilization Ayurveda twigs and tooth powders got replaced by contemporary plastic made toothbrushes and chemical based toothpastes. Toothbrushes are made of plastic; hence it is an alarming sign for soil and air pollution. Contemporary science recommends usage of chemical-based toothpaste with added sweet flavouring agents. Action of toothpaste maybe bactericidal but data from W.H.O over Oro-dental disorders per year gives an idea that action of bactericidal is not up to mark. In Ayurveda rasa Siddhant-katu (pungent taste), tikta (bitter taste), Kashaya (astringent taste) is given much importance for Dantadhavana due to antibacterial, antiseptic action. Current world is shifting towards ayurvedic principles of daily regimens to maintain and promote the health. This paper will discuss over problems due to usage of contemporary toothbrushes and chemical based paste and ayurvedic view of Dantadhavana and solution by Ayurveda to come over the Oro-dental problems.

The ever-growing era of technology has given us plenty of boons but has also burdened us with innumerable banes, one of which is the poisonous effect of food additives and preservatives. Reports show that the dependency of an average man on preserved and packed food is expected to show an increase of 8% in just the span of 5 years i.e. 2015-2020, this is directly proportional to the increase in number of various disorders like Kushtha (skin ailments), Raktachapa (Blood pressure variations). The long term usage of food preservatives and additives can be considered as Gara Visha, the type of poison which impacts the body of an individual on long term usage. This usage of viruddha (preservatives and additives) leads to formation of Gara Visha in the body of an individual.

Medicine, defined as the science and practice of the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disease. The word medicine springs from Latin medicus, meaning “physician″. According to Henry Sigerist, the medical historian has stated that every culture had developed a system of medicine and medical history is but one aspect of history of culture. India, with its rich cultural heritage, has been in the forefront in contributing to the medical sciences, and there is plenty of proof of the same. Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, and Homeopathy (AYUSH) is one component of the six indigenous systems of medicine practiced in India. The art of tending to the sick is as antique as the humanity itself. The ancient civilizations probably knew about the functions, physiology and anatomy of the human physique in surprising details, and their art of tending the sick remains an evidence of their knowledge. The medical systems that are truly Indian in origin and development are Ayurveda and as well the Siddha system. Unani-Tibb and Homeopathy, though not of Indian origin, have a significant importance in health care in India. Today, India is among the leading countries as far as the practice of Unani medicine is concerned. This paper will be an attempt in analysing the insights of various fundamental principles and key concepts of Unani, Ayurveda, Siddha and Homeopathy along with their differential aspects.

The age of natural death is planned at birth and coded in innate moisture because innate moisture acts as fuel for life. Ibn Sina compared it with fuel which aids in the burning of a lamp. Every individual gets innate moisture from parents at the time of conception. This innate moisture feeds and protects the innate heat, heart distributes this heat to every part of the body, and it is utilized in the accomplishment of all vital and organic functions and is essential for the survival of life. Throughout life, the innate heat utilizes innate moisture for growth, development, and all other body functions, hence, gradually leading to its dissolution, ultimately innate moisture becomes insufficient to protect the innate heat which results in death. “The innate moisture is to the seat of innate heat as the oil of a lamp is to the flame” – Ibn Sina

We have seen barren playground on which children play, but in rainy season many types of grasses, plants, weeds etc. grow up. It is possible because the seeds were already present there and waited for a favorable climatic condition. Likewise, the Human body being the micro cosmos contains every elements of creation including the seeds of every species. Our body consists of about 37 million cells and 370 million are microorganisms in it. We can admit that our own body contains microorganisms, innumerable. To be unaware of this fact is quite natural but to ignore this fact will be perplexing.
