The production of natural rubber in Malaysia is primarily dominated by smallholders representing almost 95% of the total rubber plantation, while commercial estates constitute the remainder. The natural rubber industry is an integral part of the Malaysian economy, with 2.6% of with the total contribution of exports valued at more than RM20 billion annually. Therefore, the three key inputs that affect the productivity of smallholders in all states throughout Malaysia should be critically explored There is limited literature on the production of rubber by smallholders. The labour consumption, land area and adherence to agronomic practices are the main inputs and variables in this study. The Ordinary Least Square (OLS) was used to analyse the correlation of each input with rubber production by referring to the concept of the production function. The results discovered that 96% of rubber production yields are explained by independent variables consisting of labour, plantation area, weeding and cultivating activities. Furthermore, the total plantation area and adherence to agronomic practices positively affect total rubber production, while inefficient use of labor negatively affects total rubber production

The results showed that microfinance loans, microfinance savings, and financial interventions or donations had a significant, positive impact on empowering women's businesses in Irbid, Jordan. The study concluded that microfinance deposits could elevate women’s income and act as a guarantee to obtain loans and other microfinance services. Consequently, microfinance institutions (MFIs) should empower more women-owned businesses. In addition, the government through the Central Bank of Jordan should reduce the interest rate of microfinance banks to attract more female entrepreneurs and create more microfinance bank plans and financial intervention packages to enhance financial services to ensure donations and funds reach women entrepreneurs.

This article presents youths’ opinions on the positive or negative Coronavirus (COVID-19) impacts from economic and daily routine perspectives. Interview sessions were conducted to determine the intricacies encountered by Malaysian youth communities. Although adverse effects involving unemployment denoted the key issue of local youth communities, positive counterparts were equally identified. For example, youths strived to venture into novel fields (online businesses and food delivery services) following new social norms. Predictably, this study would increase policymakers’ awareness in determining the positive and negative influences faced by marginalised youths during the COVID-19 health crisis.

Digital economy has become an essential key to unlocking rural economic growth in Malaysia with the launch of the Malaysia Digital Economic Blueprint (MyDIGITAL) by the government in February 2021. Online payment is a vital component of the digital economy and should be feasible even in rural areas since more than 80% of rural households had access to mobile broadband in 2019. Nevertheless, many are still using cash-based payments to make purchases. Thus, this study aims to observe online payment acceptance, particularly in Kelantan, from the rural retailers’ perspective. The Unified Theory of Acceptance and User of Technology (UTAUT) was applied by observing three determinants of behavioural intention to adopt online payment and a quantitative research method, i.e. questionnaire distribution via social media (Facebook) to 384 respondents, was used. The results were analysed using descriptive analysis, reliability test, and Pearson’s correlation analysis. Among the three variables examined, only two significantly affected rural retailers’ behavioural intention to adopt online payment, namely security and performance expectancy. With this information, the government could prepare more targeted, proactive design interventions (e.g., training, marketing, etc.) for rural retailers who are reluctant to use online payment. Hopefully, this research can help online payment services offered in rural areas and the implementation of MyDIGITAL to unlock rural economic growth. Besides, the aim is to inspire future researchers to continue this study with more extensive and complex research.
