The presence of Special Educational Needs (SEN) in students inserted in the school system has been a theme in which many areas of knowledge have tried to investigate. The psychological theory suggests that newborns begin their development starting from a similar basis, and that the different types of stimulation and the brain’s ability to adapt to different episodes can be a determining factor in the development of skills and abilities. It is also considered that the family environment is the closest circle and with which the infants have the most contact in this period, therefore, the impact that the stimulation delivered by these people has on the adequate development of the cognitive, psychomotor and of a child’s language, could be related to the presence of SEN and its subsequent consequences in the pedagogical and psychopedagogical areas when they enter the school system. The present work aims to identify stimulation styles to favor the integral development of children up to three years of age.

The COVID-19 pandemic wreaked havoc and disrupted the lives of low-income individuals and families throughout a state in the southeast region of the U.S. Many of the disruptions were shared by all, including isolation-induced mental health issues, adjustments to safety protocols, and financial challenges. Sone lost jobs. Some left jobs to protect family members. Some had major housing issues. Those with school-age children had multiple challenges, including access, reliability, and cost of broadband to support virtual learning; the inability to maintain or return to work because of children at home; and loss of free-and reduced meals at schools. Attitudes about vaccination varied considerably, with some adamantly refusing to be vaccinated, while others acknowledged uncertainty, but hesitatingly sought the vaccines. Others were eager to be vaccinated. Despite personal exposures and familial losses, study participants demonstrated great resiliency, creating ways to keep food on the table, supporting family and friends, finding the positive in having more time with children and other family members, and continuing to search for a way forward throughout the pandemic.

This project analyses the field of current geographic political partitions offering an interdisciplinary evaluation able to describe the space in the borders as ‘narrative beginning’, as ‘contact infrastructure’ that crosses territories where inhabitants are neither citizens nor refugees but only ‘border people’. At the end, cognitive horizons able to breach the Wall, going beyond the political-territorial divisions which have always existed in a world which is a sort of more or less fortified bulwark able to suggest ‘border worlds’ that are ‘city’, ‘border land’. We observe a porous border with a rhizomatic trend that reformulates a synergistic relationship between the individual and the territory in an antinomic game of actions and reactions. Appears an idea of multiplicity in which the ‘rhizome-like’ structure becomes decentralized configurations where each part can be connected to another without go through specific points, as the infrastructure network or even the virtual system of global contacts. So, the space in the borders results in a new map of the delocalized space that increasingly requires of a design thinking that, on the basis of critiques of data, variables and statistics, sometimes becomes ‘hard’ and sometimes ‘elastic’, sometimes ‘insurmountable’ and sometimes ‘flexible’ and that finds an answer in the connivance between opposites and in the territorial synergy.

The study analysed variation in surface temperature (ST) in Makurdi Urban Area (MUA), Northcentral Nigeria. A total of 12 Landsat TM/ETM+ images were acquired in January, April and June of 1991, 1996, 2001 and 2006. The ST was estimated from the 12 Landsat TM/ETM+ images, grouped into seven classes, and the area of each ST class was determined using remote sensing and Geographic Information System (GIS). The ST magnitudes vary spatially from 27.5oC (water bodies) to 50.7oC (built-up land), representing an intensity of 23.2oC. The mean seasonal ST varies from 32.4oC-34.5oC (cool-dry season), 35.5oC-38.8oC (hot-dry season) and 30.8oC-31.4oC (hot-wet season). The mean annual ST has increased from 32.9oC (1991) to 35.9oC (2006) with ST intensity of 3.0oC. The ST classes of 27oC-29oC and 33oC-37oC recorded the highest loss and gain in area of -126.5km2 and 94.5km2 whereas ST classes of 29oC-33oC and 41oC-45oC recorded the least and highest per centage change in area of 22% and 768%. The result showed decreasing and increasing trends in the areas of cooler and warmer surfaces, which are attributed to increase in anthropogen surface materials, with higher heat storage capacities, due to urbanisation.

An unprecedented demand for houses due to the COVID pandemic has spurred competition among prospective home buyers who often resort to writing “so called” love letters to sellers to increase their chances of purchasing a house over competitors. This article examines the potential discriminatory impact of this device.

The Hungarian government developed a package of tools for improving legal control and compliance for Hungarian companies and entered into force between 2012 and 2021. Part of this complex package of measures sought to broaden the tax base without raising taxes, while others sought to reduce the size of the black economy by reducing the amount of illegally available benefits. The level of compliance may increase, as inspections are continuous, the risk of failure is high, and compliance with legal actions does not require a large intellectual or financial expense from the taxpayer. Part of this package was the obligation to use online cash registers, the introduction of reverse charge VAT, the targeted reduction of VAT rates, the introduction of an electronic goods tracking and verification system, and the introduction of online invoicing.

The aims of the study were to determine: (1) knowledge, attitudes, motivation, and behavior of the economically weak community in tackling Covid-19 and making safe latrines for the environment before and after the experiment on how to cope with Covid-19 and making latrines that were safe for the environment and 2) the effect of the experiment on increasing the knowledge, attitudes, motivation, and behavior of the economically weak community in tackling Covid-19 and making safe latrines for the environment in the low-lying areas of South Sulawesi. This type of research is quasi-experimental. The research location is in the lowland area. The experimental area is Manorang Salo Village and the control area is Laringgi Village, Marioriawa District, Soppeng Regency. The two areas were selected by purposive sampling method. The samples of the experimental group and the control group were 30 families each. The experimental model used is the pretest-posttest control group design. The analysis used is descriptive statistical analysis and infrensial statistical analysis. The inferential model is an independent t test. The results of the study are as follows: (1) knowledge, attitudes, motivation, and behavior of the economically weak community in tackling Covid-19 and making safe latrines for the environment before being given an experiment are in the low category and after the experiment are in the high category, (2) the effect of The experiment was very significant in increasing the knowledge, attitudes, motivation, and behavior of the economically weak community in dealing with Covid-19 and making safe latrines for the environment in the low-lying areas of South Sulawesi.

The imperfection of man is the banes of all criminal activities worldwide. More so, global urbanization and technological advancement seem to catalyze the frequency and complexity of criminal activities generally. Crime in its entire ramification is a critical issue that has gained significant attention in most countries of the world Nigeria inclusive. In view of the alarming rate of crime globally and the GIS utilities, this paper therefore carried out a review of the principles and theories of crime mapping, types of crime mapping and the nexus between poverty and urban crime. The paper further examined the relationship between urban design and spatial dimension of urban crime, and the implication for Urban and Regional Planning professional education as one of the key players in environmental management. It is therefore recommended that the teachings of Urban and Regional Planning in educational institutes should include the key theories within environmental criminology. While national and international conferences and workshops around urban and regional planning should presently revolve around settlement safety and urban governance.

Megaprojects are defined as projects that cost a billion US dollars or more at 1990 prices. Mega transport infrastructure projects have the potential to affect important socioeconomic and territorial changes. They are often perceived as critical to the “success” of major metropolitan, regional and national development. The redevelopment of neighbourhoods offers many opportunities for regional regeneration, yet there remain concerns regarding the potential gentrification of areas leading to the displacement of existing populations and local businesses. This research applies multi-criteria analysis, a tool that is widely used in mega infrastructure project appraisal using the UK’s Crossrail as a case to explore the likelihood of gentrification and the displacement impacts of the project. This paper finds both positive and negative impacts. Different stakeholders express noticeably differing opinions regarding the project.

Purpose. This project validates knowledge and confidence in nurses/clinicians who could encounter human trafficking (HT). Background. HT, a worldwide problem, is the exploitation of human beings. There are up to 40 million victims globally and 18,000-20,000 in the US. Many victims encounter healthcare professionals who often lack HT training. Methods. Clinicians/HT survivors led trainings at two Northern California hospitals. Ability to identify/treat HT patients was measured before and after training. Results. 254 professionals, (73.9% nurses) participated. Despite 66.1% indicating HT could affect their patients, most lacked HT identification/treatment training. At baseline, 26.3% of participants felt comfortable/very comfortable identifying and treating potential victims of human trafficking, compared to 93.2% (p < .001) and 90.4% (p < .001), respectively, at posttest. Implications. The training improved red-flag identification and documentation and expanded the trauma-informed care approach. Prioritizing departments likely to serve trafficked patients, this program was implemented across our three-state hospital system.
