Abstract MCrAlY–Al2O3 composite coatings were prepared by high-velocity oxygen fuel thermal spraying with bespoke composite powder feedstock for high-temperature applications. Powder processing via a suspension route was employed to achieve a fine dispersion of α-Al2O3 submicron particles on the MCrAlY powder surface. This was, however, compromised by ~ 50% less flowability of the feedstock during spraying. Nevertheless, the novel powder manufacturing process introduced in this study has shown potential as an alternative route to prepare tailored composite powder feedstock for the production of metal matrix composites. In addition, the newly developed MCrAlY–Al2O3 composite coatings exhibited superior oxidation resistance, compared to conventional MCrAlY coatings, with the formation of nearly exclusively Al2O3 scale after isothermal oxidation at 900 °C for 10 h. The addition of α-Al2O3 particles in the MCrAlY coatings as a second phase was found to have promoted the formation of YAG oxides (YxAlyOz) during spraying and also accelerated the outwards diffusion of Al, which resulted in enhanced oxidation resistance.

Vietnam is the world's leading country in growing and producing pepper trees. In this study, we attempted the optimization of white pepper essential oil extraction. The obtained oil was then subject to determination of constituent composition via GC-MS method. The essential oil performance achieved 3.6% by hydro-distillation process with optimal conditions (25 grams of fresh pepper, size 18, 120 minutes extraction, 130°C). A total of 23 volatile constituents were identified from the white pepper essential oil, with the major components being 27.4% of Limonene, 3-Carene 22,928%, Sabinene 17,622%, β-pinene 10.068%, α-Pinene 5.426%.

This study aims to determine the manufacturing process and the financial feasibility of pile processing. This research was conducted in Kulisusu District, North Buton Regency. The population in this study were all business owners of pile processing. The determination of the sample is done by purposive (direct appointment) because the pedicab processing business actor only consists of two business units. Samples taken are as many as two business units consisting of all existing populations. The variables in this study are raw materials, supporting materials, labor and equipment. The results showed a 12%/yr NPV calculation in 1%/month. At a discount factor of 1% which is equal to Rp 14.546.944. BCR of 1,16 (>1), IRR of 5% (>1%) and return on investment by calculating PP for 9,92 months, BEP units/production of 288 packages and BEP for Rp 2.486. BEP analysis had reached the break-even point that was determined, namely 1. From the five criteria used, it was indicated that the pile processing in the Kulisusu sub-district was feasible to be developed.

This paper deals with problems of rural tourism development. The works is focused on researching the situation in the area of rural tourism in the Czech Republic, on understanding the attitudes of entrepreneurial sphere and rural population to this entrepreneurship and mainly on the determination of limiting factors that prevent this form of tourism from a more distinctive development. Rural tourism in the Czech Republic is still in the initiating stage of its development and it is not as developed as in some countries in West Europe. This goal has been reached with the help of primary questionnaire inquiry among business and agricultural subjects in rural areas in the individual regions and the detail results of this questionnaire inquiry are enclosed to the following paper. These identified factors were mainly insufficient financial means and at the same time insufficient state assistance connected with this. Insufficient awareness of this support as well as its inaccessibility for small business appears to be a difficulty, too. From the other obstacles, we can mention the current legislation system, bureaucracy, the state of communication and tourist infrastructure, fears of neighbours’ intolerance and losing privacy and also unfamiliarity and little experience.

The availability of phosphorus (P) in soil is perceived to be one of the limiting factors to sustainable sugarcane production in Fiji. The main objective of this research was to ascertain the amount of bioavailable phosphorus in some Fiji sugarcane growing area soils; this will be valuable in improving the determination of the required amount of inorganic fertilizer to be applied to the soil. In this study, twelve different soils were selected from the sugarcane belt of Fiji and phosphorus buffer index (PBI) and phosphorus isotherm experiments were performed. Soil physical and chemical parameters were also measured and Pearson’s correlation tests used to identify patterns. It was found that Oxisols had the highest PBI values ranging from 134 to 170 while Inceptisols had the lowest ranging from 33 to 54. The PBI data followed a similar pattern to the generated isotherm curves of the different soil types. Most interest was in identifying soils with low PBIs as they have greater potential for P leaching through runoff into waterways. Clay content showed a strong positive correlation with PBI (R = 0.76, p ≤ 0.005). There is strong association with phosphorus fixation in soil with increasing levels of Al and Fe in the soil. Phosphorus availability and P fixation varied with soil types.

Foam magnesium alloy was an idea substitute of hard tissue of human bodies because its elasticity module was close to the bone of human. In the paper, foam degradable magnesium alloys were prepared by “Press-Dissolution-Vacuum sintering-Hot treatment-Aging” powder manufacturing process firstly. Then samples were coated by immersion in a bath containing phosphate and rare earths lanthanum. Results show that, Mg-0.9Mn foam magnesium alloys after hot treatment had better anticorrosion performance; and coated foam magnesium alloys form the bath with phosphate lanthanum chloride had lower rate of degradation.
