By means of melt compounding method, the Glycidyl methacrylate (GMA) grafted HDPE modified Polyamide 66 (PA66) with ultra high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) blends were prepared via the co-rotating twin screw extruder.The effects of different UHMWPE/HDPE contents on properties of PA66/UHMWPE blends were investigated.Meanwhile, the mechanical properties such as tensile and impact strength etc. were investigated. By using the differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and scanning electron microscope (SEM), the crystalline and morphology of PA66/UHMWPE blends were analyzed. The results show that UHMWPE toughened PA66 samples exhibit significantly enhanced impact strength and elongation at break comparison with natural PA66. The samples of PA66 with 30% of UHMWPE/HDPE (mass ratio 3/7) blends show impact strength about 2 times and elongation at yield 7 times more than those of natural PA66.The behavior of HDPE-g-GMA shows an effective compatibilizer for PA66/UHMWPE blends, when the mass ratio of PA66/(UHMWPE/HDPE) at 70:30, the blend indicates the best comprehensive property. The investigation on crystallization and morphology of PA66 and their blends show that the behaviors of melting about the two components are independent either PA66 or UHMWPE/HDPE. There are independent melting behaviors, meanwhile, interacted each other between PA66 and UHMWPE. Due to the good compatibility which HDPE-g-GMA contributed, the homogenous PA66/UHMWPE blends could be achieved. The photographs of SEM analysis indicate that the interface action of PA66 and polyethylene is enhanced by compatibilizer HDPE-g-GMA.

A series of fluorine-containing polyacrylic epoxy (FPAE) prepolymers with different fluorine content and molecular weight are synthesized by solution free radical polymerization of hexafluorobutyl methacrylate (HFBMA), butyl acrylate (BA), and glycidyl methacrylate (GMA). The synthesized prepolymers show high conversion and low volume shrinkage. The effect of different types of active diluent for the cationic UV curing of FPAE was investigated, among which oxetane exhibits better comprehensive property than epoxy and vinyl ether. The formulations with the optimal ratio of different functionality oxetane combination show good flexibility, adhesion, hydrophobicity, and antistain property.

Multi-component Nb-(11,15)Si-5Hf-30Ti-4Al-4W-2B-(8,16)Cr alloys have been proposed, attempting to obtain the Nb-Si based alloys with a comprehensive property. The results show that three phases of NbSS, Nb5Si3 and Laves Cr2Nb exist in the alloys with a Cr content of 16 at%. With increasing Si and Cr contents the fracture toughness KQ decreases, while the oxidation resistance at 1250°C and strength at 1250°C and 1350°C exhibit an increasing tendency. The 15Si-16Cr alloy shows the highest strength and oxidation resistance, and the lowest toughness; they are 385MPa at 1350°C, 215mg/cm2 at 1250°C for 100 h, and 5.45 MPa•m1/2 at room temperature, respectively. The 11Si-8Cr alloy with an NbSS/Nb5Si3 microstructure only has the highest toughness of 11.87 MPa•m1/2, its strength and oxidation resistance are the lowest.

Excellent Fe3Si-Si3N4-SiC composites were successfully prepared with FeSi75 and SiC as main starting materials by nitridation reaction(at 1300°C for 8Hrs). The effect of ferrosilicon alloy addition amount on material properties was studied; the ferrosilicon nitridation mechanism was analyzed through chemical thermodynamics; phase composition, microstructure, alkali resistance of products were also investigated. The results show that when ferrosilicon addition amount is 12wt%, the comprehensive property of Fe3Si-Si3N4-SiC is the best. The nitridation products are fiber-like α-Si3N4 and rod-like β-Si3N4, which makes better mechanical behavior due to fiber reinforcement; a great deal of Fe3Si intermetallic compounds uniformly distribute in matrix, which is one of the products of Fe-Si nitridation and as a plastic phase forming in grain boundary optimizes the performance of products. Chemical thermodynamic analysis shows that the fiber-like α-Si3N4 is formed by SiO(g) and N2(g) reaction which also increases the rate of nitridation. Fe3Si-Si3N4-SiC material has good performance. Now it has been successfully applied to one 2000M3 domestic steel plant, the blast furnace operation goes well.

Fuzzy mathematics were used to evaluate the comprehensive property of fabrics in this paper. This is because fabrics are good or bad is a feeling of Physiology and psychology, used fuzzy mathematics to evaluate its comprehensive properties is objective and accurate. First, the evaluation indexes are selected according to the required performance of sporswear fabrics, and the Fuzzy mathematics was used to establish comprehensive evaluation model, then the comprehensive property of four sportswear fabrics were evaluated based on this comprehensive evaluation model. The evaluation result indicated that polyester cover cleancool fiber structure fabric has the best comprehensive property, this comprehensive evaluation results pruved that this developed sportswear fabric has excelltent comprehensive properties,and it is suitable for making high quality sportswear.

The relationship between properties of BF-WPC and the content of BF were studied, when wood-plastics composite (WPC) was reinforced by 12 mm and 3 mm short basalt fiber (SBF). The results showed that there may have some uneven distributions of SBF in WPC, when the content of 12 mm BF exceeded 30%. Restricted to the uneven distribution and the quantity of “end weak’’, it formed the close comprehensive property of BF-WPC by the length of 12mm and 3mm BF. The comprehensive property of BF-WPC has a maximum range of 15%-30% of the content of 12 mm BF. Compared to pure WPC, the tensile and bending strength of BF-WPC have improved. However, the reinforce effect of BF-WPC is different and is dependent on the index of each property. The BF-WPC plate can be developed with different properties and be a cost-effective material by choosing different length and content of BF.
