VIRTUAL EDUCATION IN TIMES OF PANDEMIC ABSTRACT Education is key to the development of a society, given such reality it is a process that cannot be stopped. This article analyzes the process of virtual education intimes of pandemic, collects information about the use of new ICT technologies in order to promote the education-learning process as an alternative means to face-to-face education, which has been traditional in our Educational systems. Virtual education is currently the means by which education is developing in the face of a situation that does not yet have a reliable solution, and which has forced both students and teachers to access other means and mechanisms to be able to educate themselves. This research also emphasizes the role that teachers must play as guides in the teaching process and the role that students at any level should play where their commitment and self-education must be important. Traditional processes, that is to say what we always did, will be lost from the crisis that the world is going through, but new opportunities will also appear that allow the development of a society more prepared for any eventuality. The educational system in times of pandemic has had to transform itself urgently and unexpectedly to a virtual modality. This paper presents an exploratory study on the main difficulties encountered in the Soldiers Training School "Vencedores del Cenepa", where the objective of this work was to expose some strategies mediated by ICTs, for the virtualization of the teaching-learning process; When the didactic and functional methodology was applied in virtual education, I necessarily involve externalizing the demands of the teachings where they are enrolled; in this online educational process-COVID 19; the students of the institution consider their class grade as a basic educational tool, where the student himself, Virtual learning behaves as an extension of the face-to-face classroom, mainly supported by technologies that allow, even remotely, activities that challenge students to produce a collective text, electronic portfolio, infographic or video that address a topic, can be worked collaboratively. in particular related to the topic of the class, they are generally more accepted by students than exercises or questionnaires whose objective is to record the content of a discipline; Therefore, we must see the opportunity that shortens the distances and enriches the teachers' process, maintaining their structure and development of methods according to reality; where the development of study programs is allowed, strengthens relationships and instills collaboration among all actors.

The sudden outbreak of 2019 novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) caused by the novel severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) originated from Wuhan, China. SARS-CoV-2 causes severe respiratory illness and becomes a major threat for humanity. Recently the entire scientist, researchers and physicians all over the countries focused to find the treatment of this pandemic disease. Numerous drugs and or vaccines have been trialed for prevention and treatment against 2019-nCoV but no therapy has been shown effective to date. Currently, numerous vaccines are under clinical investigation and mRNA-1273 vaccine (LNP- encapsulated mRNA vaccine encoding S protein) from Moderna is ahead. Although chloroquine, hydroxychloroquine, remdesivir and many other drugs had recommended against SARS-CoV-2, but still they are not the guarantee treatment of COVID-19. Recently, India, America, Russia and China introduced vaccines against COVID-19 in the market, however assurance of their 100% effectiveness are doubtful. The speed of daily new cases threatens the world and urges the scientist to crack this pandemic condition. KEYWORDS: 2019-nCoV; Chloroquine; COVID-19; Moderna; Respiratory disease; Remdesivir.

As cases of COVID-19 surge across the world, research has begun to emerge which considers the implications of school lockdowns on student learning, engagement, and achievement. Yet as face-to-face teaching and learning recommences, it is not only students who will need help adjusting to "the new normal". While 2020 has seen a dramatic increase in the workload of teachers, many of whom have negotiated a continuity of learning in adverse circumstances, we must remember that long before COVID-19 disrupted schools, teachers were already at risk of burnout. The novel coronavirus has further exacerbated the stresses facing teachers, and as countries continue to navigate periods of remote education, recognising and supporting teacher wellbeing should be a key priority. In recognition of the contributions of teachers and the influence they yield over student learning, this article considers the importance of creating conditions for supporting teacher wellbeing before, during, and after the current pandemic.

Background A novel coronavirus first reported in Wuhan City in China in 2019 (COVID-19) developed into a global pandemic throughout 2020. Many countries around the world implemented strict social distancing policies to curb the spread of the virus. In this study we aimed to examine potential change in mental/physical health and social relationships during a highly restrictive COVID-19 lockdown period in Australia during April 2020. Methods Our survey (n = 1, 599) included questions about concerns, social behaviour, perceived change in relationship quality, social media use, frequency of exercise, physical health, and mental health during COVID-19 lockdown (April, 2020). Results When estimating their mental health for the previous year 13% of participants reported more negative than positive emotion, whereas this increased to 41% when participants reflected on their time during COVID-19 lockdown. A substantial proportion (39–54%) of participants reported deterioration in mental health, physical health, financial situation, and work productivity. However, most of these participants reported ’somewhat’ rather than ’a lot’ of deterioration, and many others reported ’no change’ (40–50%) or even ’improvement’ (6–17%). Even less impact was apparent for social relationships (68% reported ’no change’) as participants compensated for decreased face-to-face interaction via increased technology-mediated interaction. Conclusions The psychological toll of COVID-19 on Australians may not have been as large as other parts of the world with greater infection rates. Our findings highlight how technology-mediated communication can allow people to adequately maintain social relationships during an extreme lockdown event.
