AbstractSeveral studies report that olfactory cues play an important role in human life; humans are essentially able to recognize other family members and friends by their odors. Moreover, recent studies report that humans are also able to identify odors of non-conspecifics. The aim of this study was to determine whether dog owners are able to identify their dogs by smell and distinguish the odor of their own dogs from those of other dogs. A total of 53 dog owners (40 females and 13 males of different ages) volunteered to take part in this study. A number of the participants (17) owned 2 dogs; these owners took part in the study twice (i.e., working with only one dog at a time). Sterile gauze pads were used to collect odor samples from the dogs. Each pad was placed in its own sterile glass jar (750 ml) with a twist off lid until the experiment commenced. Participants were asked to identify their own dog´s odor from a line-up of 6 glass containers. This experiment demonstrated that dog owners are capable of identifying their dogs by smell on a significant level. Results of this study additionally suggested that male owners outperformed their female counterparts in the identification process. Moreover, dog owners whose dogs were housed outside had a higher success rate in identification than did participants who kept their dogs indoors with them. The dog owners found it easier to identify dogs that had been neutered, fed dry dog food and bathed less frequently. In general, younger dog owners tended to have more success when attempting to identify their dogs than did their older counterparts.

In a paper which was read before the Institute of Actuaries on the 31st May, 1852, “On the Uniform Action of the Human Will, as exhibited by its Mean Results in Social Statistics,” I drew attention to the remarkable regularity with which marriages are contracted in any country, and the very small limits of difference from the average number which appear from year to year. The observations made by M. Quetelet in Belgium, from 1825 to 1845, showed that the extreme difference in the total number of marriages was little more than half the difference of the extremes in the number of deaths in the same period. Such a conclusion seemed to imply that the subject was worthy of more research. If the law of mortality can be so accurately defined at different ages, that pecuniary interests, amounting to some hundreds of millions sterling, can be valued and adjusted with the greatest nicety, it is reasonable to conclude that the labour of a statistical inquiry into the proportion of marriages at different ages would be rewarded with the discovery of some equally defined law, since the variations from year to year in a given number of facts appear, from a large number of observations, to be even less than in the former case. It is true that, as human life must fail at some time, from the natural decay of the powers of life, every interval of age after man has once attained maturity may be expected, under ordinary circumstances, to show a steady and progressive increase in the liability to disease and death. On the other hand, it may be, argued that marriage is the exercise of the free will of man—that consequently, it does not depend on the age or period of life, but on the arbitrary exertion of those feelings or mental and moral qualities which are not subject to natural laws, or at least not to such laws as we are able to express numerically in the same manner we can the law of mortality in any given population. If we consider, however, marriage as, in one sense, the natural provision for the preservation or increase of the species, and the counteraction to the law of mortality by which the species would perish, we should not be surprised to find that, however imperceptibly to individuals, there is a tendency to obey some unknown law of nature which at the period of maturity would lead to the maximum of marriages, and gradually diminish with age in the same manner as the tendency to disease and death increases with age. The motives and caprices of individuals would only have the same effect on the general results which the different habits of individuals may have in increasing or diminishing the rate of mortality. Accordingly, M. Quetelet, in a comparison of the number of marriages in Belgium for each five years of age after 21, for both sexes, for a period of five years consecutively, showed that the average results in each period scarcely differed at all from year to year. The table is so remarkable, that I have reduced the proportion to 100 of the total marriages in each year, and present it to show the small differences which will then be seen to prevail.

No matter what century we live in, even though the tools we use change from age to age, man is not a creature who can be considered or understood without the concept of values. Although we have different religions, languages, races and cultures, the personality of man is always constructed through values. Values are factors that directly influences human life and society in a positive or negative way. This study suggests that values education aimed at teaching individuals certain values is not sufficiently practiced by families in Turkey. In order to address the problem, this study aimed to increase the awareness of family members regarding values and help them turn values into behavior in everyday life. To this end, a 24-month “values education program” involving a set of activities was carried out. Every month, a specific value was chosen taking into account the needs of family members and “value booklets” were prepared using four sub-dimensions of the chosen value. 10 families participated in the program and the data was collected from 25 individuals. The resulting data was subjected to content analysis. 3 main themes were found to be important in the light of the data: moral development, development of communication skills, and religiousness. These themes were thought to be beneficial in terms of understanding the effectiveness and importance of family members’ internalizing values and turning them into behavior in everyday life.

Electronic health (E-health) uses information and communication technology including electronics, telecommunications, computers, and informatics to process various types of medical information, to carry out clinical services (diagnosis or therapy). Health is the most important asset in human life, therefore maintaining health is a top priority and serious attention needed. Heart rate and body temperature are vital signs that the hospital routinely checks for clinical signs and are useful for strengthening the diagnosis of a disease. In this research monitoring heart rate and body temperature with the wireless sensor network (WSN) method that uses NodeMCU 1.0 as a controller module and wireless as communication between nodes, the wireless network used in this research Wi-Fi network. As a data taker, a DS18b20 temperature sensor and a heart rate sensor (pulse sensor) are needed, which will be displayed by the ThingSpeak web and smartphones. From the test results, the success rate of the system in detecting heart rates is 97.17%. Whereas in detecting body temperature the success rate of the system is 99.28%. For data transmission, the system can send data smoothly at a maximum distance of 15 meters with a barrier.

Relevance. Adolescence is an important stage in human life. It offers a lot of possibilities for personal development, but it also presents serious challenges, such as development of autonomy, the search for individuality. Parent-child relationships are generally considered a factor of the development of adolescent’s autonomy. Family psychology identifies adolescence as basis for a separate stage in the family life cycle. In this regard, it seems important to investigate the processes of separation and development of the autonomy of adolescents not only in parent-child relations, but in a wider family context. Objective. The goal of the research is to study the family factors of autonomy and separation processes development in adolescence. Method and participants. 51 adolescents in age from 13 to 18 years took part in the study. The following methods were used: questionnaires on autonomy and separation processes, family and child-parent relations, “Family Sociogram”, the incomplete sentences method. Main results. The main content of the ideas about independence and autonomy in adolescents is shown: adolescents determine their autonomy primarily through the behavioral aspect and alienation. Emotional differentiation goes difficult, and adolescents are often susceptible to emotional influence in relationships with significant people. Fear of losing sovereignty is negatively associated with family cohesion, expressiveness, and independence of family members. Neurotic denial of dependence on others is negatively associated with family cohesion, independence of family members, and transparency of family rules. Lack of acceptance of the adolescent, excessive emotional distancing and lack of consent and cooperation in the family is negatively connected with autonomy development and separation of adolescents. Conclusions. It is necessary to consider the development of autonomy and separation processes in adolescence in the context of family relations. Negative family factors are connected with separation difficulties and lack of autonomy in adolescence.

This article tries to explain the various levels of friendliness associated with human communication. This study focuses on Qur'anic verses that talk about ethical behavior towards others and analyze the context. The divine message given to the Prophet Muhammad emphasized the importance of friendly relations in every area of human life. This hospitality plays a very important role in avoiding misunderstanding and conflict in society. The emergence of tension between individuals in the community has always been the result of verbal violence and negative words that were raised when communicating. This study uses a deductive method by analyzing the views of contemporary scholars in the field of Qur'anic interpretation which interprets verses with a contextual approach. The scope of this study is limited to the analysis of the interpretation of verses relating to ethical relations between individuals, family members, various religious adherents, and government leaders. The significance of this research is to answer the question why humans should benefit from the Qur'an's guidance on communication hospitality to maintain peace and harmonious life.

Abstract Background EPO (erythropoietin) and PDGF (platelet derived growth factor) families are thought to be associated with angiogenesis under hypoxic condition. The sharp rise of intraocular pressure in acute primary angle closure (APAC) results in an inefficient supply of oxygen and nutrients. We aimed to measure the expression of EPO and PDGF family members in APAC eyes and demonstrate their associations with APAC’s surgical success rate. Methods Concentrations of EPO, PDGF-AA, -BB, -CC and -DD collected in aqueous humor samples of 55 patients recruited were measured. Before operations, correlations between target proteins and IOP (intraocular pressure) were detected between APAC (acute primary angle closure) and cataract patients. Based on the post-operative follow-up, the effects of EPO and PDGF family members on the successful rate of trabeculectomy were tested. Results The levels of EPO, PDGF-CC and -DD were significantly elevated in the APAC group compared to the cataract group. During the post-operative follow-up, EPO, PDGF-CC and -DD showed significant differences between the success and failure groups. In multivariable linear regression analyses, failed filtration surgery was more likely in APAC eyes with higher EPO level. The Kaplan-Meier survival plot suggested that the success rate in eyes with low EPO level was significantly higher than that in eyes with high EPO level. Conclusion The levels of EPO, PDGF-CC and -DD were significantly elevated in failure group. EPO level correlated with preoperative IOP and numbers of eyedrops, and higher EPO level in aqueous humor is a risk factor for trabeculectomy failure. It can be a biomarker to estimate the severity of APAC and the success rate of surgery. The investigation of mechanism of EPO in APAC a may have potential clinical applications for the surgical treatment of APAC.

Mankind has learned many things and has trained himself not knowing in the prehistoric times because of necessity by means of trial and error. He learned to learn while giving human life struggle that they taught what they learned to make their lives easier for those who come after them. So the real reason for learning is the needs and continuity. These needs have developed parallel to the development of mankind and continue to develop today. Learning in this development process is institutionalized. On the other hand, learning in today's world has gained a new dimension. The wider network of Internet and digital media has removed the boundaries of learning, time, space and age. Today, when we look at people's education and teaching life in terms of people, institutions and the environment, we can separate five stages: Childhood, Mother, Mother and Father, Brother, Aunt, Uncle, Grandmother, grandfather,Other family members, Pre-school, Primary School, Various courses, Various activities; Puberty, Family members,.In the current environment,.High School, Various courses and studies; Youth Family members, In the current environment,.Universities and colleges,.Various courses and studies;.Maturity, Family members,.In The current environment,.Working environment, Courses,.Activities; After Maturity,.Sharing knowledge and experience,.Evaluation of knowledge and experience in today and tomorrow, Events for quality living, Travels and such. In this article, the answer to the question "why life-long education and teaching" was sought in classical method.

This study is carried out in tribal district Kurram, Pakistan under positivistic methodology with the aim to investigate the role of family institution in honour killing. The results of the study concluded that honour killing is family oriented act that threatens social status and reputation of family. This barbaric act is carried out inside home as well as in public places by the male family members to restore the lost honour. Mostly women become easy victims of such killings while family members of the male offender usually try to avoid his killing by providing him with protection. Creating awareness among tribal people about direction and magnitude of human loss, promotion of the teachings of Islam about human life and liberty and replacing the concept of bravery with cowardice regarding honour killing were presented as some of the recommendations.

The book plays an important role in a human life, especially in childhood, shaping his intellectual and moral potential. Due to the lack of research on forming collections of literature for children in military libraries for officers, the author has appeared to be the first in domestic library science to consider these libraries’ catalogues of book collections for to reveal information about books for children. The purpose of this study is quantitative and qualitative analysis of publications for collections of literature for children in libraries for the Russian Army officer. Objectives of the study are: 1) to calculate absolute and relative indicators of availability of publications for children in the libraries for officers; 2) to determine reasons for the small number of departments for children; 3) to identify and analyze the legal basis for using collections of military libraries for officers by members of military personnel families. The article uses source studying and comparative methods of research. The work bases on a wide representative source foundation – with the involvement of the main normative and legal documents, which clearly regulated the admission of family members of officers and officials, including children, to libraries at military assemblies, and catalogues of military officer libraries’ books for different years. According to this study results, children’s departments accounted for between 0.6 and 6.6% of officer libraries book collections. The article details the repertoire of children’s departments (they contained works by both Russian and foreign authors). The reasons for the small number of children’s departments of officer libraries and the peculiarities of their recruitment with literature for children have been identified and analyzed. This study results have expanded the understanding of military officer libraries book collections and their role in the officers and their family members’ lives.
