Due to the technogenic transformation of ecotopes of ash and slag dumps of Burshtyn TPP, bioindications of the environment state in the zone of their influence are an urgent issue. The morphological reaction of Betula pendula Roth. leaves under the influence of man-caused factors of Burshtyn TPP ash and slag dumps was studied. The change in the shape of the leaf blades of B. pendula under the conditions of ash and slag dumps was analysed. The degree of modification of leaf blades was evaluated through the measures of shape coefficient and elongation coefficient. The use of morphological coefficients testified to their specificity. The form coefficient indicator proved to be a sensitive marker. The change in the area of leaf blades under the conditions of high levels of anthropopression was analyzed. On the territory of ash and slag dumps there was a decrease of leaf area. At the same time, a high level of necrotization of leaf blades was recorded. The condition of plants was assessed through the index of fluctuating asymmetry of B. pendula leaf blades. As a result of the study, the foliar morphometric parameters of B. pendula were determined, which showed high morphological reactivity under the influence of man-caused load and can be used as bioindication markers for assessing the state of the environment.

The results of research in 2019, which were performed on the territory of the Ufa industrial centre in contrasting forest conditions, are presented. On the same sample area, the same plant species may have a similar leaf shape, but different sizes (large-leaved trees and small-leaved trees). This paper presents the results of research on large-leaved trees. We determined the integral parameters of asymmetry of birch leaf plates and performed a dispersion analysis based on five characteristics. We determined that July is the most informative month. It was during this period that the Fisher test revealed differences in three features: the 1st feature (width of the leaf halves), the 3rd feature (distance between the bases of the first and second veins of the second order), and the 4th feature (distance between the ends of the first and second veins of the second-order). The obtained results indicate the seasonal dynamics of indicators of fluctuating asymmetry of leaves of hanging birch trees. This results should be taken into account when monitoring the state of the environment.

Цель исследований: изучение влияния сортового и экологического факторов на изменчивость морфометрических (длина семени, эндосперма и зародыша) параметров семян моркови в системе двухфакторного опыта. Объекты для изучения – оригинальные семена сортов Шантенэ 2461 и Боярыня. Опыты были заложены в 2015–2017 годах на Западно-Сибирской овощной опытной станции ФГБНУ ВНИИО в южной части Первомайского района Алтайского края. Преобладающие почвы – черноземы выщелоченные и обыкновенные. Повторность опыта трехкратная, в каждой повторности не менее 20 семян. Измерение длины семени и эндосперма проводили штангенциркулем (ГОСТ 166-89), длину зародыша определяли с использованием микроскопа Микромед и видеоокуляра DCM 300 MD. Семена замачивали в 14%-ном водном растворе гипохлорита натрия в течение 1 ч, после чего измеряли длину семени, эндосперма и зародыша и рассчитывали соотношение длины зародыша (E) к длине эндосперма (S). Семена двух сортов моркови, за годы исследования существенно различались по длине семян (Р < 0,001). Длина эндосперма сорта Боярыня в среднем за годы исследований была меньше (Р < 0,001) по сравнению с Шантенэ 2461. Длина зародыша также существенно отличалась (Р < 0,001) в зависимости от сорта. Экологический фактор значительно влиял на длину семени (Р=0,005) и эндосперма (Р=0,003). На длину зародыша основное влияние оказывал фактор сорта (Р < 0,001). На отношение длины зародыша к длине эндосперма также в значительной степени влиял фактор сорта (Р = 0,006). Исследования показали, что изменчивость морфометрических параметров семян обусловлена как влиянием сорта, так и влиянием условий года репродукции. Длина зародыша по сравнению с другими элементами семени варьирует сильнее и в большей степени зависит от влияния наследственного фактора. Это позволяет сделать вывод о возможности селекционного изменения линейных, а также относительных размеров морфологических элементов семени.The article is devoted to the study of the effect of varietal and environmental factors on the variability of morphometric (seed length, endosperm and germ) parameters of carrot seeds. The objects for the study were the original seeds of different varieties grown in 2015, 2016 and 2017. Seeds obtained from two varieties of carrots over the years of research differed significantly in the length of the seeds (P <0.001). The length of the endosperm varieties Boyarynya on average over the years of research was less (P <0.001) compared with Shantane 2461. The experiments were conducted in 2015-2017 at the West Siberian Vegetable Experimental Station in the southern part of the Pervomaisky district of the Altai region. The prevailing soils are leached and ordinary chernozems. Experiment replication is 3, each repeatability consists at least 20 seeds. The measurement of the length of the seed and the endosperm was carried out with Vernier caliper (GOST 166-89), the length of the embryo was determined using microscope Mikromed and video-ocular DCM 300 MD. Seeds were soaked in 14% aqueous sodium hypochlorite solution for 1 h, and then measured the length of the seed, the endosperm and the embryo, and calculated the ratio of the length of the embryo (E) to the length of the endosperm (S). Embryo length was also significantly different (P <0.001) depending on the variety. The environmental factor had a significant impact on the length of the seed (P = 0.005) and endosperm (P = 0.003). The length of the embryo was mainly affected by the factor of the variety (P <0.001). The ratio of the embryo length to the endosperm length was largely influenced by the factor of the variety (P = 0.006). Our studies have shown that the variability of the morphometric parameters of seeds is due to both the influence of the variety and the conditions of the year of reproduction. In comparison with other elements of the seed, the embryo length varies more and depends more on the influence of the hereditary factor. This allows us to conclude about the possibility of a selection change in linear as well as relative sizes of the morphological elements of the seed.

We have estimated the reproductive capacity of Betulapendula Roth and its relationship with an integrated measure of developmental stability, i.e., fluctuating asymmetry (FA) of the leaf. On the territory of a city with moderate anthropogenic pollution, a change has been detected in the integrated fluctuating asymmetry (IFA) of the morphology of the female reproductive sphere and reproductive capacity of Betula pendula. In conditions of anthropogenic stress, the birch is observed to produce a large yield of fruits annually, which is not subject to year-to-year fluctuations. Morphological variety of size and shape of fruit-producing organs increases along the gradient of industrial and transport pollution; part of morphotypes of infructescences and seeds is characterized by lowered or zero capacity for reproduction determined by seed quality (germination energy and germination capacity). The statistical data processing involved correlation, Shapiro–Wilk test, Levene’s test, factorial ANOVA, Scheffe test, Kruskal–Wallis ANOVA, Mann–Whitney test, χ2 method. Analysis of IFA has allowed us to reasonably well assess the state of the plant organism and to characterize environmental quality. A negative correlation between IFA and quantitative parameters of the functions of the reproductive sphere of B. pendula (infructescence diameter, seed quality) has been found, and positive correlation with qualitative parameters (the number of morphs of infructescences and seeds, the share of rare morphs of infructescences). Pessimization of urban environment creates the conditions for an increase in the share of defective infructescences and non-germinating seeds; a compensatory mechanism for this is an increase in reproductive effort of B. pendula. The consistency of responses in the vegetative and reproductive spheres reflects the disturbances in developmental stability of plants in urban communities.

Plantlet that has developed shoots and roots will have a high level adaptation in the field. The objective of this experiment was to improve the ability of planlet in shooting and rooting so that it is ready for acclimatization in the field. The increase ability in shooting and rooting of the planlet were conducted by adding various types of auxin in the media. The arabica coffee embryo of clone AS 2K which has entered the phase of the cotyledons was transfered into the treatment media containing half-strength of MS (Murashige & Skoog) macro and micro nutrient, vitamin B5, 30 g/L glucose, 100 ml/L coconut water, 50 mg/L AgNO3 added with the combination of IAA, IBA and NAA. The research was conducted by using completely randomized design with seven combined treatment i.e. 0.1 mg/L IBA, 0.1 mg/L NAA, 0.1 mg/L IAA; 0 , 1 mg/L IBA + 0.1 mg/L NAA, 0.1 mg/L IBA + 0.1 mg/L IAA, 0.1 mg/L NAA + 0.1 mg/L IAA; without auxin. There were 12 replications in every treatment and each replication consisted of five cotyledonary embryos. The parameters of observation were the root length, leaf number, leaf area, stem diameter, and height of plantlets. The observations were conducted in eighth weeks after cotyledonary embryo had shoots. The results showed that in the number of leaves and height of planlet parameters, the treatment without auxin was the best result compared to planlet with auxin addition. The addition of auxin varians and their combination did not significantly influent leaf area, root length and stem diameter parameters. The medium tested was optimum for the growth of shoots and roots of AS 2K arabica coffee.

The paper considers modern approaches to the zoning of territories and the selection of people for life in extreme environmental conditions, taking into account modern geopolitical challenges. It is shown that it is possible, based on the allostasis concept, to conduct not only the selection of persons with a high level of nonspecific resistance, but also to quantify the degree of extremity of environmental factors using the standard represpiration test. The fluctuating asymmetry (FA) in Betula pendula Roth was estimated as an integrated measure of five morphometric characteristics of a lamina. Samples were collected in seven cities that differ both in climatic conditions, moderately to sharply continental. In total, 33 ecotopes were distinguished with various level of anthropogenic load. The statistical data processing involved correlation, one-way and factorial ANOVA, regression analyses, and principal component analysis (PCA). The impact of 25 climatic and anthropogenic factors on the FA value was considered. In most urban ecotopes, the integrated fluctuating asymmetry (IFA) value was higher than in natural biotopes of the same region. No significant inter-annual differences in IFA values were found. FA dependence on traffic load is noted to be statistically significant. The covariation analysis of IFA, climatic, and anthropogenic variables in various urban ecotopes revealed the impact of three groups of factors that together explain 93% of the variance in environmental parameters. The complex analysis clearly arranged the studied ecotopes by pollution gradient and climatic patterns. The primary effect of the total anthropogenic load on the developmental stability of B. pendula results in an IFA increase. IFA can play a key role in bioindication assessment of environmental quality. The climatic factors have no significant effect on the developmental stability of B. pendula in urban conditions.
