Shipyard industry is one of the growing industry in Malaysia. There is still a lot of room for improvement with regards to the safety aspects within the industry. This study presents the finding of a survey on the safety management in shipyard operation of class C and D in Peninsular Malaysia registered with Ministry of Finance Malaysia. Shipyard operation is considered a hazardous job. Most of the cases were due to fall from height, fire and explosion. Similar accidents happened in South Korea, where 8 fatalities and 31 injuries were reported in January to August 2017. The accidents were due to crane collapsed and explosion during welding works inside a hull of a Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) carrier. This paper aims to study the Health, Safety and Environment Management System (HSEMS) of shipyard operations in Malaysia particularly in Class C and Class D shipyard. This study was conducted using a survey method following the Glenn D’s equation. The survey was targeted at the people who are involved in the industry including the staffs of clients, consultants and contractors. The findings of this study show that almost all the shipyards of Class C and D have HSEMS in placed but some are incomplete. Accidents still happen in the Malaysian shipyard industry from time to time. The gaps in the HSEMS that lead to the accident are highlighted in this paper. Nearly 10% of Class C and D shipyards do not have clear HSE Policy and this one of possible causes of accidents due to low priority given to HSE matters in this particular Class C and D shipyard.

Abstract With the rapid development and wide application of computer technology and network technology, the Internet has become an important information infrastructure in modern society. However, the resource capacity used by the Internet is much smaller than the actual resource capacity. How to choose the right resources to serve the people has become a crucial issue. Huge data resources, heterogeneous distribution and unreasonable resource organization are important reasons for this phenomenon. When solving the problems of batch data, heterogeneous distribution, complex processing, and cumbersome use in a distributed heterogeneous network environment, the traditional methods of resource processing and resource aggregation services become more and more difficult. In recent years, how to redistribute and organize scattered resources in a dynamic and open environment, how to effectively gather different resources, realize resource sharing and full utilization, and provide users with reasonable and convenient resource collection services have become one of the main research points. This paper mainly uses the questionnaire survey method to study the water resources information management system based on the Agent model. First, it summarizes the characteristics of the Agent model and the problems existing in the water resource information management system based on the Agent model through the literature research method, and then uses the questionnaire survey method, investigate some evaluations and suggestions about the need to use the water resources system. The results of the survey show that in the evaluation of the use of the water resources information management system based on the Agent model, about 50% of people encounter the waiting time for the system. For long-term phenomena, about 30% of them are stuck. The recommendations for the use of water resources information management systems based on the Agent model are more concerned about the simple operation of the system, with about 54% of the choices, and about 36% of the people choosing when there is no lag.

Around the world, almost all countries have sought to stop the spread of the 2019 novel coronavirus (Covid-19) by lockdown and quarantine protocols, implemented from local to the national scale. For every scientific development and policy implementation which comprehensively connects this pandemic, the event is not very sound about the extensive socio-economic impact ushered with this disaster. In this paper, using a combined qualitative-quantitative approach, Q method, we have tried to assess the peoples’ discernment from different perspectives. This work was done through questionnaire survey method, during the national level lockdown 1.0 in India. We have differentiated the perception of youth respondents into 7 factors taking 6 dimensions on Covid-19 pandemic (viz. science, society, environment, economy, politics and religion). This work yielded a firsthand ground level insight on the comprehensive but diverse responses from the youths and their opinion for Covid-19 pandemic in India. We are hopeful that this work might open new avenues to understand the people-Covid-19 connection, both for future research and policy implementation.

Shifting cultivation is an agricultural system, that has the characteristic of cutting or slashing techniques, which are burned in dry land areas, there is no intensive irrigation and are palnted with sort-lived plants. In general, after being worked on for less than three years, they are left behind. The plants are of rice secondary crops with a simple processing technique, namely by using tugal, accompanied by land use and palnt maintaince without fertilization According to Koentjaraningrat (1977), Almost all of the people in Sempurna village before the palm oil plantations used to do shifting cultivation, but after the oil palm plantations began operating in 2002 the peoples who carried out shifting cultivation from 428 households recorded only 2.8% or 12 families. The purpose of this study was to examine the social problems of shifting fields due to oil palm plantation in the Sempurna village, Sungai Laur sub-district, Ketapang district. The benefits of this study as information to policy makers in Ketapang district about social problem in shifting fields communities due to the oil palm plantation in the Sempurna village, Sungai Laur sub-district, Ketapang district with the survey method. Safety is the top priority and must be provided in every flight activity. All institutions that conduct activities in the airport shall have the commitment in implementing Safety Management System, in accordance with national and international standards. In its implementation, Safety Management System consists of 5 (five) indicators i.e. safety policy and objective indicator, danger identification and safety risk management indicator, safety assurance indicator, safety promotion indicator, and emergency response planning indicator. The operators of Sepinggan Internatinal Airport Balikpapan have implemented almost all 5 (five) indicators and its variables. However, there are no SMS organization and manager safety/officer provided. Only working groups (Pokja) are available. Therefore, reports on events are not documented as materials for analysis which can be useful for avoiding errors to occur again.

Enterprise asset management (EAM) systems are used by asset owners and/or operators to manage the maintenance of their physical assets. These assets, including equipment, facilities, vehicles, and infrastructure, need maintenance to sustain their operations. An EAM system provides the means to have less unplanned downtime and extended asset longevity, which offers clear business benefits that improve the profit and loss statement and balance sheet. Particularly for capital-intensive industries, like drilling and exploration, the failure of on-time delivery of critical equipment or processes is disruptive and costs nonproductive time and customer satisfaction. Organizations understand these issues and employ an appropriate asset management system to engineer their asset maintenance and management. An EAM system is needed to manage the people, assets/equipment, and processes. EAMs are used to plan, optimize, execute, and track the needed maintenance activities with associated priorities, skills, materials, tools, and information. Similarly, nondestructive testing (NDT) is used as a tool for integrity assessment of assets in drilling and exploration. The main advantage of using NDT is that the item’s intended use or serviceability is not affected. The selection of a specific technique should be based on knowledge and skills that include design, material processing, and material evaluation. Validating the purpose of this paper, we emphasize the importance of optimizing the asset utilization and serviceability to enhance overall efficiency by integrating EAM software that manages assets, the operation management system (OMS) controlling the processes, and asset inspection management systems (AIMSs).
