This study aims to prove the sauerkraut liquids in the drinking water of broiler chickens to weight gain, final weight, feed consumption, feed efficiency and the amount of lactic acid bacteria intestine of broilers. A total of 24 chickens broiler DOC with an average weight of 25-35 gr/tail. Broiler chickens were randomly divided into 4 groups.. Each group was given liquids sauerkraut 0 ml/L, 0.5 ml/L, 1.0 ml/L, and 1.5 ml/L in drinking water for 35 days. The results showed the treatment liquids concentration sauerkraut 1,5 ml/L in drinking water have a significant effect (P <0,05) on body weight gain, final weight, feed intake, feed efficiency and the amount of lactic acid bacteria intestines of broiler chickens. Average of body weight gain of broilers given liquids sauerkraut 1.5 ml/L in drinking water significantly (P <0.05) higher than the weight gain of broilers concentration 0 ml/L. Average of final weight of broilers given liquids sauerkraut 1,5 ml/L in drinking water significantly (P <0.05) higher than the final weight of broilers concentration 0 ml/L. Average of consumption of broiler chicken feed given liquids sauerkraut 1,5 ml/L significantly (P <0.05) lower than the consumption of broiler chicken feed concentration of 0 ml/L. Average of FCR of broilers given liquids sauerkraut 1,5 ml/L significantly (P <0.05) lower than the FCR of broilers concentration of 0 ml/L. The average amount of lactic acid bacteria intestines of broilers given liquids sauerkraut 1.5 ml/L significantly (P <0.05) higher than the amount of lactic acid bacteria intestines of broilers concentration of 0 ml/L. On the research that use of liquids sauerkraut in drinking water 1,5 ml/L can improve feed efficiency and amount of lactic acid bacteria broiler chicken intestines of 23.5%, and 19.4%.   Keywords: Broiler chickens, sauerkraut, feed efficiency, the amount of lactic acid bacteria

Abstract The aim of the study was to evaluate prediction methods, validation approaches and pseudo-phenotypes for the prediction of the genomic breeding values of feed efficiency related traits in Nellore cattle. It used the phenotypic and genotypic information of 4,329 and 3,594 animals, respectively, which were tested for residual feed intake (RFI), dry matter intake (DMI), feed efficiency (FE), feed conversion ratio (FCR), residual body weight gain (RG), and residual intake and body weight gain (RIG). Six prediction methods were used: ssGBLUP, BayesA, BayesB, BayesCπ, BLASSO, and BayesR. Three validation approaches were used: 1) random: where the data was randomly divided into ten subsets and the validation was done in each subset at a time; 2) age: the division into the training (2010 to 2016) and validation population (2017) were based on the year of birth; 3) genetic breeding value (EBV) accuracy: the data was split in the training population being animals with accuracy above 0.45; and validation population those below 0.45. We checked the accuracy and bias of genomic value (GEBV). The results showed that the GEBV accuracy was the highest when the prediction is obtained with ssGBLUP (0.05 to 0.31) (Figure 1). The low heritability obtained, mainly for FE (0.07 ± 0.03) and FCR (0.09 ± 0.03), limited the GEBVs accuracy, which ranged from low to moderate. The regression coefficient estimates were close to 1, and similar between the prediction methods, validation approaches, and pseudo-phenotypes. The cross-validation presented the most accurate predictions ranging from 0.07 to 0.037. The prediction accuracy was higher for phenotype adjusted for fixed effects than for EBV and EBV deregressed (30.0 and 34.3%, respectively). Genomic prediction can provide a reliable estimate of genomic breeding values for RFI, DMI, RG and RGI, as to even say that those traits may have higher genetic gain than FE and FCR.

The objective of the study was to evaluate feeding effect of microparticle protein derived from soybean meal and fish meal combined with Lactobacillus sp. at 1.2 mL on physiological condition of digestive tract and productivity of broiler. Total of 192 broiler, with initial body weight was 481.0 ± 67.2 g, given dietary treatment starting on day 21 until day 42. The experiment was assigned in a completely randomized design with 8 treatments and 4 replications. Dietary treatment were 21% intact protein (T0), 18% intact protein (T1), 21% microparticle protein (T2), 18% microparticle protein (T3), T0+Lactobacillus sp.1.2 mL (T4), T1+Lactobacillus sp.1.2 mL (T5), T2+Lactobacillus sp.1.2 mL (T6), T3+Lactobacillus sp.1.2 mL (T7). Parameters measured were total ileal lactic acid bacteria (LAB), Coliform and pH, rate of passage, daily body weight gain (DWG) and also carcass weight. Data were subjected to analysis of variance and followed by Duncan multiple range test (P<0.05). Experimental results showed that microparticle protein diet added with Lactobacillus sp. (P<0.05) increased total LAB and DWG, but decreased Coliform population, and slowed down the rate of passage. However, carcass weight was not significantly affected by treatments. Feeding microparticle protein (18%) with addition of Lactobacillus sp. (1.2 mL) can improve to be better condition of digestive tract based on higher LAB and lower Coliform populations, and increase daily body weight gain with the same carcass weight.

Poultry farming holds a special place in ensuring the products that the consumers demand, it provides the population with essential food products,such as eggs and meat,that contain vital micro and macronutrients, proteins, lipids, and vitamins. Therefore, the issues of rational, economically feasible feeding of meat poultry, namely broiler chickens, are an urgent task. It is also essential to find effective methods of their application in order to correct the natural resistance and immune and biological reactivity of birds. The purpose of this research is to study the effect of the biological stimulant-Nucleostim on the growth and development of chickens, hematological, and immunological parameters of the blood of birds.This Biostimulant is a purified bovine spleen extract containing at least 1 mg / ml of low molecular weight peptides (nucleotides and nucleosides) formed as a result of autolysis, using dry whey and diatomite as fillers. Onthe application ofNucleostim, the gain in live weight of chickens was increased by 9.7%. At the end of the experiment, the livability of the chicks of the experimental group treated with Nucleostimcame up to 88%, compared with the 72% of the control group. The use of biostimulant had a stimulating effect on the liver of chickens confirmed by the research results presented in the article, as well as contributed to the development of the thymus in the setting of general dystrophy. Thus, it improved chicklivability and increased body weight gain. The biological stimulant-Nucleostim as an adaptogenic, anabolic, and immunostimulatory agent is promising for finding new drugs that improve the health and productivity of poultry.

QUAIL (Coturnix-Coturnix Japonica) GROWER PERFORMANCE SUPPLIED WITH MANURE FLOUR DEGRADED BY BLACK FLY LARVAE (H.ILLUCENS L.) TO REPLACE FISH MEAL. This study aims to determine the manure yield of black fly larvae replacing fish meal in the quail feed of the grower phase. The materials used in this study were 100 unsexed quails, 3 weeks old; the dimension of cage was 40 x 40 x 20 cm. The quails were arranged randomly in each unit. The study was realized by using a completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 5 replications. The treatments were R0 = 0% degraded manure flour (MHD); R1 = 4% MHD flour; R2 = 8% MHD flour; R3 = 12% MHD flour. The research variables consisted of ration consumption, body weight gain and feed efficiency. The results obtained showed that treatments provide a very significant influence (P <0.01) on ration consumption. Body weight gain and feed efficiency were not significant different (P> 0.05). The conclusion of this study is that MHD flour up to the 12% level can be used in quail rations replacing fish meal. Keywords: Quail, MHD, Fish meal.

Forty steers were intensively finished in yards on rations of 90 per cent sorghum grain and 10 per cent of either sorghum silage or stubble. There were no significant differences in rate of body weight gain or efficiency of feed conversion of steers fed the two rations. The experiment commenced on July 2, 1965. An abrupt increase at this time in daylength by flood-lighting, for two 2-hour periods daily, had no significant effect on rate of body weight gain, feed efficiency or coat shedding of steers subjected to natural seasonal increases in daylength. The administration of a cobalt pellet to steers fed a low-cobalt sorghum grain had no effect on coat shedding or rate of body weight gain.

The effects of raw and autoclaved Shoti (Curcuma zedoaria) meal on the growth and N utilization of growing broilers were determined. Shoti from Bangladesh Agricultural University campus was collected and sorted on the basis of white color of the rhizome. Then they were chopped into pieces, sun dried and pulverized in a flour mill. Aliquot samples were autoclaved at 1200C under 15 lb of pressure per square inch for 30 min. Autoclaved samples were stored in tightly lid contained for future use. 3 One hundred -day-old Cobb 500 broiler chicks were reared on the floor and a total of 24 growing broilers, 4 birds in each group were weighed on d 15 Two broilers were placed in each cage. There were a total of four experimental and two control (positive and negative Non-protein control) diets. Diets were fed ad libitum from day 15 to 33days. Body weight, feed intake, feed refusal and fecal weights were recorded every day. Cumulative feed efficiency per bird was calculated as the ratio of weight gained to feed consumed. Dry matter of excreta was determined from the last 10 d of feeding trial by drying aliquots of every day’s droppings by drying for 6 h at 1050C. On d 19, birds were bled to death. Immediately after slaughter, the carcasses were examined systematically. The chemical composition of Shoti meal showed that it is low in protein, fat and trace minerals and therefore mainly a source of energy. The bulk of the tuber (75 percent) consists of carbohydrates, made up of 10.6% fiber, and 64.9% nitrogen free extracts (NFE). A peculiarity of Curcuma rhizome meal contains high level of ash (9.9%) on DM basis. The results showed that at day 33, the weight of the broiler chicken fed shoti 100g, 200g, 300 g and 200g (autoclaved shoti meal)/ Kg diet was significantly different from the weight of the chicken fed on a maize-soybean diet. The birds given shoti meal consumed less feed than those provided with a maize diet. Feed efficiency or weight gain to feed ration over 19-d period was the poorest when fed 300 g Shoti/ Kg diet. Intake picked up when the shoti meal was incorporated after having been autoclaved and there was slight improvement in body weight gain as compared to that of other Shoti fed group. However, feed efficiency and body weight gain as % of initial weight remained significantly lower than the maize-soybean control. The inclusion of Shoti meal generally had an adverse effect on the apparent dry matter digestibility compared with the control diets. The group fed autoclaved shoti meal had a similar effect and the true N digestibility was the lowest when compared to those of control fed on maize-soybean meal. Thus, physical treatment like using autoclave, caused further reduction of digestibility of its N. Lipid digestibility was reduced by ingestion of shoti meal. Since the diets were isocaloric, after correction for the apparent endogenous lipid losses, which were obtained from the results of non-protein control feeding, the net faecal losses was around 66.2% of the ingested lipid against control diet fed birds.
