This article reveals the problem of communicative addiction in terms of its membership of a particular category of the population and gender - namely, housewives. The urgency of the research for this problem has been proven; the analysis of recent studies has been carried out, which includes the beginning of the problem solution. Summarizing the opinions of modern scholars about this phenomenon, the article clarifies the concept of communicative addiction as a form of interpersonal addiction of women- housewives. The article presents the study’s results of individual psychological characteristics of women, affecting the expression of communicative addiction on interpersonal relationships. Based on the empirical study the level of individual psychological characteristics of housewives has been analyzed (self-esteem, sociability, emotional stability, subordination, conformity), taking into account the general indicators of the communicative relationship. Comparative analysis of the communicative-addicted and not addictive housewives showed significant differences in such factors as «self-esteem», «communication», «subordination», and «conformity».Using correlation analysis a connection between the level of housewives` communicative addiction and their individual psychological characteristics, such as self-esteem, sociability, subordination, and the conformism has been revealed.

In recent years, the number of (auto) destructive, aggressive manifestations among schoolchildren, children, and adolescents has increased. This phenomenon is observed with various training systems. The purpose of this pilot study is to identify the regular relationships between aggressiveness and self-esteem anxiety in adolescents in educational institutions of various types. At the same time, we are interested in manifestations of adaptive and maladaptive perfectionism. The following preliminary conclusions can be made. Adolescents at risk of hostility in rural and so-called “deviant” schools have problems of self-esteem and are isolated in a social group (class) (the results are statistically significant). In the gymnasium, adolescents at risk of hostility noted difficulties in interpersonal relationships (the results are statistically significant). However, disadaptive perfectionism becomes an important factor in the gymnasium.

Analysis of the responses of 139 male and 83 female Lithuanian 12-14 year-olds to a translation of the Self-Description Questionnaire-1 (SDQ-1; Marsh, 1988 ) supported the internal consistency and factor structure of this instrument. Some evidence of a “positivity” response bias was found, however. Comparison of the Lithuanian responses to those of like-aged Australian, Chinese, Filipino, Nepalese, and Nigerian children indicated the Lithuanians tended to report rather lower self-esteem. The Lithuanian males also tended to report lower self-esteem than their female peers. Interpretation of the results are considered in terms of reactions to the recent upheavals in Eastern Europe, stable cultural dimensions, and possible cultural and gender biases in the items of the SDQ-1.

Taking into consideration the fact that self-esteem and loneliness have an even more important role to play in students' learning, this study seeks to examine the correlation of these two factors with children academic performance. The study involved 499 (grade 4 to grade 9) Arab children studying at Arab schools in Kuala Lumpur-Malaysia. Data were collected via two questionnaires (one for loneliness and the other for self-esteem). The correlational data analysis yielded a negative correlation between loneliness and academic achievement while there is a positive correlation between self-esteem and achievement. Results also suggested that there is no correlation between students' gender, age, and academic achievement. Furthermore, the results revealed that self-esteem is a good predictor of achievement while loneliness and gender are not good predictors. The findings of the present study are discussed in relation to the relevant literature, taking into consideration the impact of children mental health on their academic achievement. Finally, recommendations for further research are presented.

The parents of children with dyslexia often experience more parenting stress and depressive symptoms compared to other parents. Studies have shown that supporting and encouraging such parents help in reducing their frustrations, fear, anger, and low self-esteem towards their children. The purpose of this study was to identify and examine the different types of support needed by the parents of children with dyslexia and to explore the relationships between the required support with the parents’ marital status. Fifty questionnaires were distributed to the parents of children with dyslexia and analyzed. The findings showed that the type of support needed for parents of children with dyslexia could be grouped into social, peer-to-peer, financial, and government support. Furthermore, the analysis indicated that there were no significant differences between the social (p = 0.4014), peer-to-peer (p = 0.5020), and government (p = 0.7121) support with parents’ marital status. However, based on one-way ANOVA analysis, there was a significant difference found between the parents’ marital status and financial support (p = 0.0241). Accordingly, it is anticipated that the implication of this research could be used as a guide and a reference for supporting and encouraging parents of children with dyslexia and other learning disabilities.

Factors of loneliness experienced by women from different social groups, identified with factor analysis, are considered. Six structural factors were identified: neuroticism, an individual’s position in relation to herself and others, sociability, interpersonal relationships, personal potential, behavioural types. Each of these factors has a direction, so determines a woman’s sociality or, vice versa, deepness of her loneliness. We have determined that personal qualities developed due to experienced negative emotions, including low self-esteem, too high demands toward themselves and others, depression, fear and anxiety, insecurity, or emotional instability, contribute to antisocial behaviour (social indifference) and loneliness. A woman’s aggressive-negative position is one of the factors influencing her maladaptation to society and making her feels lonely. We can also argue that destructive communications also contribute to the feeling of loneliness. We have found that harmony and comfort at interpersonal relationships and loneliness depends on a woman’s position in interpersonal relationships, their distance and valence. Women with a high personal potential are less likely to experience feelings of loneliness than women with low personal potential. Moreover, fear and aggression directly affect the development of women’s depressed-aggressive behaviour, which leads to social maladaptation; this fact allowed us to understand the causes for the fear of being alone and the mechanism forming women’s feeling of loneliness.
