Abstract Event record sections, which are constructed by plotting seismograms from many closely spaced earthquakes recorded on a few stations, show multiple free-surface reflections (PP, PPP, PPPP) of the P wave in the Imperial Valley, California. The relative timing of these arrivals is used to estimate the strength of the P-wave velocity gradient within the upper 5 km of the sediment layer. Consistent with previous studies, a velocity model with a value of 1.8 km/sec at the surface increasing linearly to 5.8 km/sec at a depth of 5.5 km fits the data well. The relative amplitudes of the P and PP arrivals are used to estimate the source depth for the aftershock distributions of the Elmore Ranch and Superstition Hills main shocks. Although the depth determination has large uncertainties, both the Elmore Ranch and Superstition Hills aftershock sequences appear to have similar depth distribution in the range of 4 to 10 km.

According to IEEE-1159 definition and classification of power quality of applying at supplyside and demand-side of power system to evaluate the power quality of high voltage keycustomer and using the voltage events record (VER) in low voltage level supply. Which voltage parameter set of VER with specific software Event View software by Fluke and can collect event data, plot graphic of event data sets that can using the data mining skill to analysis the voltage swell, voltage sag, power outage, frequency events and three phase load unbalance of high voltage key-customer. By abnormal voltage event statistics with discriminated by quantization of high voltage key-customer which can evaluate the own power quality and an also provide reference for quality requirements for related semiconductor factories with higher demand that can avoid the significant effect the economic losses.

Abstract History as the past event, its tracking can be traced through the history trace. History trace is the fact and sign of history record which requires archives to disclosure. Archives as the history document is a silent witness which give evidence toward the success, failure, growth, and wealth of a nation. Archives, as past event record and a historical reconstruction, have an important role in building the nation character. The good nation character that contained in archives will strengthen the spirit of national anthem. Archive as the historical reconstruction can teach us a noble value, goodness, nasionalism, and teach us to follow  the struggle value of the national heroes to free the nation from ivanders suppression. When archives that full of patriotism and nasionalism values are served to people, it will grow the collective consciousness of Indonesia that has ever had a strong character in struggling to achieve its independence. Therefore, correlation between archive and history in forming the national character relates to archives role as the historical values ( values of historical). Archive is an ambassador of its era which can give informations for the next era’s interest. Thus, history is actually not inanimatte object. It is a building “live” that has many wise messages to deliver. Keywords: archive, history, forming, character, nation.

Abstract. The Moroccan Mediterranean coast is located in one of the area's most vulnerable to extreme weather events or tsunami hazards. The objective of this research is to reconstruct the historical extreme submersion-event record using sea-induced deposits preserved in coastal lagoon. The Nador lagoon is the largest Moroccan lagoon (115 km2). It is located along the western Mediterranean, which has a high cyclogenetic character and is exposed to tsunamis from the Alboran Sea. The sandy barrier which separates the lagoon from the Mediterranean Sea is marked by much overwash, which indicate how intensely it has been exposed to the adverse sea events through history. Using the UWITEC© gravity coring platform, an undisturbed MC4.5 core (1.15 m long) was successfully sampled in the studied lagoon. To identify extreme sea events, a multi-proxy approach was applied combining sedimentological and geochemical data. Three paleoevents were identified; all of them are concentrated over the last 500 years, and the most recent event corresponds to the 1889 storm. For the others deposits, it is difficult to determine exactly their origin; however, the high frequency of storm events over the relevant period and the absence of historical tsunamis evidence is more in favor of the meteorological origin.

A vehicle distance measuring safety warning and braking system is disclosed having one or more distance measurement sensors measuring the distance from the driver's vehicle to a second vehicle immediately in front, the minimum distance between the vehicle and any object depends on the speed of the vehicle and here the speed of the vehicle is measured by calculating RPM(revolutions per minute) of wheels, based on the calculated minimum distance the speed of the vehicle is regulated by auto-lever mechanism. A vehicle distance alarm alerts the driver when the distance between the driver's vehicle and the second vehicle is less than a configured minimum distance, indicating an unsafe driving condition. An event record display device displays the time/date or the last twenty occurrences of the distance warning alarm. When an alarm is generated, a throttle set-back actuator operates to gently and automatically slow the car and increase vehicle to vehicle distance. Vehicle brakes may be automatically applied by the system to further slow the vehicle. The vehicle distance measuring safety warning system provides an additional margin of safety for a driver who may be distracted while driving.
