AbstractAmino acids are the smallest components that compose proteins. A number of amino acids will be conducted to one another through the intermediary of peptide bonds to form proteins. Amino acids have divided into two; those are essential amino acids and non-essential amino acids. The essential amino acids are amino acids that can not be synthesized by the body of fish; therefore the essential amino acids must be in feed. Lysine is one of the ten essentials amino acids , the function of lysine are for the growth and repair body tissues. This research was aimed to determine the effect of lysine in commercial feed on protein retention and energy retention of freshwater Bawal. The method used is experiment with a completely randomized design as an experimental design. The treatment used is different lysine levels , namely P0 ( 0 % ) , P1 ( 0.6 % ) , P2 ( 1.2 % ) , P3 ( 2.4 % ) , P4 (4.8 % ) and treatment was repeated 4 times. The main parameters were observed protein retention and energy retention on Bawal fresh water. Parameters measured were supported by water quality parameters. Analysis of the data using Analysis of Varian ( ANOVA ) and to determine the best treatment used Duncan 's multiple range test. The results showed the significant differences ( p < 0.05 ) in protein retention and energy were freshwater pomfret fish meat. Retention of protein and energy retention in treatment P1 ( 0.6 % lysine ) , P2 ( 1.2 % lysine ) , P3 ( 2.4 % lysine ) and P4 ( 4.8 % lysine ) was significantly different with treatment P0 ( control ). The quality of water for 40 days treatment was set to temperature 27-300 C, pH 7.5-8.5, ammonia 4 mg/l and dissolved oxygen 4 mg/l.

Prawns (Macrobrachiumrosenbergii) is one of the freshwater shrimp species native to Indonesia. Shrimp prawns are the most popular of all freshwater shrimp because of its large size and has a high economic value in both domestic market and abroad. Problems commonly encountered in the cultivation of prawns currently includes several factors such as water quality, disease and feed. Efforts that can be done is by feeding in sufficient quantity and quality and not excessive is a very decisive factor. Technical constraints on the level of farmers are limited in supply mains quality. Therefore, efforts are needed to tackle these problems by managing the stock of prawns parents. This study aims to determine the addition of cod liver oil on a commercial feed can increase protein retention and energy retention prawns (Macrobrachium rosenbergii). This research was carried out experimentally with a completely randomized design (CRD). The treatments were given a dose of cod liver oil 0% (control), and the treatment 1-4 using a 3% increase each treatment dose. Analysis of data using ANOVA followed by Duncan test. Based on the research results giving cod liver oil on a commercial feed effect on increasing protein retention and energy retention of lobster meat. Retention of the best protein found in 4 treatments with a dose of 12%, while the retention of the best energy contained in the second treatment with a dose of 6%.

Abstract Red tilapia fish (Oreochromis niloticus) is one of the mainstays of the freshwater fishery which is growing rapidly in Indonesia. The production of red tilapia fish fishery experiences a significant increase from year after year which amounting from 567.078 tons in 2011 to become 695.063 tons in 2012 and 909.016 tons in 2013 ( Directorate General of Aquaculture – Ministry of Marine and Fishery, 2014). The development of red tilapia fish farming were not experiences many issues, but there is one problem that needs to be concern which is about feed problem, the feed that used in aquaculture activities is determine the production costs up to 60-70% of the total production cost incurred (Jusadi et al., 2004). Fish farming business are strongly influenced by the availability of sufficient fodder in numbers and quality to support the growth and life sustainability of fish cultivation. Feed plays an important part for the growth of the fish (Wahyudi, 2010). The feed can increase the quality of fish weight with addition of a feed additive. One of the alternatives that can be take is by adding probiotic (Anggraeni, 2012) and herbal ingredients in feed (Ariyanto et al., 2013). Research results show that the addition of probiotics plus herbs affect the digestibility of protein retention and fat retention red tilapia. Based on the research that has been done, the addition of probiotics plus herbs with a dose of 2 ml / kg of feed can be used as artificial feed supplement and as an alternative to reduce the production cost of cultivation of red tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus).

Nila fish called Nirwana, which is widely consumed in Indonesia, is an important aquaculture species. Nirwana is extensively cultivated in ponds with different water characteristics that can certainly make the fish contaminated by various toxic and hazardous substances, including lead (Pb). This study analyzed the potential of coconut cake and palm kernel cake to depurate Pb from nirwana. The treatments in this study consisted of 100% commercial feed (Pk), 30% coconut cake + 70% commercial feed (PBK) and 30% palm kernel cake + 70% commercial feed (PBS). Each nirwana used was 100±15 g in weight and injected with 1 mg L-1 of Pb(NO3)2 intraperitoneally. Each test animal was fed at satiation twice a day for eight days. The result of AAS analysis on flesh and feces proved that most Pb was excreted through feces. The highest concentration of Pb which was excreted through feces was PBS treatment (1,46 mg kg-1) on days two, four, six and eight when the Pb concentration was less than 0,001 mg kg-1. The highest fat content in feed was on PBK treatment (13,33%) and PBS (4,78%) with crude fiber content in PBK 0,38% and PBS 7,23%. The results indicated that the coconut cake and palm kernel cake that were added to the feed used could serve as a depuration agent and can reduce Pb from fish through the feces.

The characteristic of milk productivity of cows of Holstein and Simmental breeds in LLC “Sibirskaya Niva” in the Maslyaninsky district in the Novosibirsk region has been given. It has been revealed that under the natural and climatic environments of the Western Siberia, when creating favorable conditions for feeding and housing for cows of Holstein and Simmental breeds have sufficiently high milk productivity. It has been found that Holstein first-calf heifers surpassed their Simmental herdmates by 959 kg in milk yield for the first 305 days of lactation under the same conditions of housing and feeding, by 3,1 kg in daily milk yield, by 38,2 kg in milk fat yield, and by 28,3 kg in milk protein yield (P < 0,001). There were no statistically significant differences between animals of Holstein and Simmental breeds in terms of fat and protein content in milk, which amounted to 3,94 and 2,96 % in Holstein breed and 3,97 and 2,98 % in Simmental breed, respectively. Both breeds have shown high milk productivity during the first 3 lactations. Thus, the milk yield of Holstein cows for the first 3 lactation was 6475–9290 kg, Simmental cows it was 5516–7680 kg, fat content was 3,93–3,99 and 3,96–3,97 %, respectively. The protein content in the milk of cows of both breeds did not exceed 3,0 %. High variability has been found in milk yield, yield of milk fat and protein, the coefficient of milk content and duration of lactation, the lowest in the content of protein and fat in milk and live weight. The correlation coefficients between the fat and protein content in milk were generally positive, but did not exceed 0,28. Therefore, breeding in the herd of cows in LLC “Sibirskaya Niva” have to be conducted not only by fat content, but also by protein content in milk.
