Abstract In this study, we determined the diurnal and seasonal dynamics of the electrical conductivity of waters of the northeastern part of the Great Vasyugan Mire in Western Siberia. Our studies showed that the electrical conductivity of the waters for the period of April to September 2016 was characterised by a value of 35 μS/cm, and the seasonal amplitude was 25 μS/cm. In seasonal dynamics, there are three maximums of electrical conductivity in waters. The first maximum was formed in April (48 μS/cm) and is associated with snowmelt water supply. The second one was observed in May after the complete thawing of the peat deposit (39 μS/cm), and the third was observed at the end of July as a result of biochemical processes in the peat deposit (43 μS/cm). Our studies have shown the electrical conductivity hysteresis during time intervals from 3–5 to 6–10 days electrical conductivity remains constant despite the change in hydrometeorological conditions (water table level, temperature).

ABSTRACTWe report results of a search for a unifying rate law for the annealing of metastable defects in hydrogenated amorphous silicon (a-Si:H). We tested the hypothesis that defect-annealing by both heating or illumination is driven by the density of free electrons. This hypothesis is formulated via the rate equation - dN/dt = A nα N f (T), where N is the defect density, t the time, A a constant, n the free electron density, and f (T) a function of temperature derived from a distribution of annealing energies. The model fits two sets of data, with light-intensity and electrical conductivity as the independent variables, reasonably well, with a ranging from 0.39 to 0.76, but not the third set, where we varied the temperature.

AbstractB4C ceramics doped with various content of Si (0 to 2.03 at%) are prepared via hot pressing. The composition and microstructure of the ceramics are characterized by means of XRD and EPMA. Their electrical conductivity and Seebeck coefficient of the samples are measured from room temperature up to 1500K. The electrical conductivity increases with temperature, and more rapidly after 1300K; the Seebeck coefficient of the ceramics also increases with temperature and rises to a value of about 320μVK−1. The value of the figure of merit of Si-doped B4C rises to about 4 × 10−4K−1 at 1500K.

Background: According to 2018 World Health Organization (WHO) data globally, an estimated 17.3% of the population has inadequate zinc intake, with estimates ranging from 5.7% in Oceania to 7.6% in Europe, 9.6% in America and the Caribbean, highest in Africa (23.9%) and Asia (19.6%). Zinc is important for the function of a number of enzymes and growth hormones during pregnancy. In pregnant women, the relative zinc concentration decreases up to 35% due to the influence of hormonal changes and the transport of nutrients from mother to baby. Objectives: The purpose of this study was to identify the effect of giving zinc tablets to pregnant women with zinc deficiency in the third trimester on body weight and length of babies born at the Makassar City Health Center. Methods: This type of research is True Experimental with a pretest-posttest design with a control group. The sample in this study was 62 samples of third trimester pregnant women, and the sampling technique used was purposive sampling. Measurement of zinc levels in third trimester pregnant women using the Elisa reader kit at the Research Laboratory of the Hasanuddin University Teaching Hospital. The research instruments were in the form of a research explanation sheet, respondent's consent sheet, respondent's checklist sheet, and the mother's zinc tablet consumption control sheet for 14 days. Results: Judging from the average value of newborns in pregnant women who did not have zinc deficiency, the average value of birth weight in pregnant women with zinc deficiency was 15.70 g/dL and 18.95 g/dL. zinc deficiency with a value (p < 0.05), while pregnant women with zinc deficiency have an average birth length of 10.00 g/dL and mothers who do not have a deficiency of 19.87 g/dL with a value (p < 0.05). So, it can be concluded that giving zinc tablets to pregnant women in the third trimester has an effect on Birth Weight (BBL) and Birth Length (PBL). Conclusion: Giving zinc tablets has an effect on increasing zinc levels in third trimester zinc deficiency pregnant women and increasing birth weight and length of the baby.

A comprehensive study of the composition of sand and silt deposits of the Yu1 horizon of the Vasyuganskaya Formation upper part of the Verkh-Tarskoye oil field has been carried out. Associations of authigenic minerals have been determined in their cement, among which the calcite is the most widespread. According to petrographic parameters, three generations of calcite have been identified for which detailed isotopicgeochemical and ultramicroscopic studies were carried out for the first time. Wide and multi directional changes in the isotopic composition of carbon and oxygen and in the chemical composition of carbonate minerals were recorded, they indicate significant variations in the conditions of diagenesis and catagenesis, primarily temperature, and different sources of CO2. Significant variations in the isotopic composition of formation waters and its relationship with the isotopic composition of carbonates have been established. Thus, a narrow interval of close δ13C values was revealed, amounting to –10.5 to –9.1 ‰ in the formation waters of group II, and from –10.7 to –9.1 ‰ in calcites of the third generation. The source of CO2 in this system should be considered a carbon dioxide, which is formed in the process of metamorphism of carbonate rocks of the Paleozoic age.

In this paper, electromagnetic shielding effectiveness of woven fabrics with high electrical conductivity is investigated. Electromagnetic interference-shielding woven-textile composite materials were developed from a highly electrically conductive blend of polyester and the coated yarns of Au on a polyamide base. A complete analytical model of the electromagnetic shielding effectiveness of the materials with apertures is derived in detail, including foil, material with one aperture, and material with multiple apertures (fabrics). The derived analytical model is compared for fabrics with measurement of real samples. The key finding of the research is that the presented analytical model expands the shielding theory and is valid for woven fabrics manufactured from mixed and coated yarns with a value of electrical conductivity equal to and/or higher than σ = 244 S/m and an excellent electromagnetic shielding effectiveness value of 25–50 dB at 0.03–1.5 GHz, which makes it a promising candidate for application in electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding.

It is shown that critical flow Venturi nozzles need time intervals, i.e., more than five hours, to achieve steady state conditions. During these intervals, the discharge coefficient varies gradually to reach a value inherent to the pressure ratio applied. When a nozzle is suddenly put in the critical condition, its discharge coefficient is trapped at a certain value then afterwards approaches gradually to the inherent value. Primary calibrations are considered to have measured the trapped discharge coefficient, whereas nozzles in applications, where a constant pressure ratio is applied for a long time, have a discharge coefficient inherent to the pressure ratio; inherent and trapped coefficients can differ by 0.03–0.04%.

Water mites (Acariformes, Hydrachnidia, Halacaroidea) were studied in 8 different bogs and fens of Western Siberia. 28 species of Hydrachnidia and 5 species of Halacaridae were found in them. The species composition in the bogs was very different. In the fens the abundance and species diversity were higher than in sphagnum bogs and the fauna were based on spring species. The representatives of the halacarid mites dominated in sphagnum bogs, which were not found in the fens. The specific similarity of the studied bogs was low. At the same time, the peculiarities of seasonal dynamics in bogs and fens were similar and resembled temporary water bodies: high numbers in the spring and an abruptly decline in the summer, with a slight increase in autumn.
