The roll is necessary and important equipment in aluminum processing, and its surface temperature will change its thermal expansion. The gap shape between rolls will change accordingly, affecting the quality of aluminum products. Therefore, it is important to monitor and control the roll surface temperature. The roller is a highly reflective body that rotates continuously during work. This article proposes an infrared temperature sensor to measure its surface temperature. Through field investigation and a literature review, we know that a roller’s motion will affect the accuracy of its surface temperature measurement. An infrared temperature measurement compensation algorithm based on rotation speed is constructed to eliminate this influence. Experimental results show that this method can make up for the temperature measurement error caused by the change of rotation speed and hence improve measurement accuracy. The algorithm is simple and adaptable and provides a new method to improve the accuracy of temperature measurement given speed change.

The recent requirements by U.S.E.P.A. for dechlorination and biomonitoring have increased the importance of automatic control of effluent chlorination in wastewater treatment plants. Difficulties with the Ziegler-Nichols controller tuning procedure were reported at the Kyoto Workshop, 1990. Problems are caused by the noise of incomplete mixing, a long time constant, and the disturbances of changing flow and chlorine demand. The Astrom-Hagglund relay feedback procedure provides acceptable control while data is logged to determine the controller constants. Experiences in using the procedure in existing facilities (not redesigning the mixing point) and the quality of control are presented.

The roller and sieve machines most commonly used in Russia for the post-harvest processing of root and tuber crops and onions have a number of disadvantages, the main one being a decrease in the quality of sorting due to the contamination of working bodies, which increases the quantity of losses during sorting and storage. To obtain high-quality competitive production, it is necessary to combine a number of technological operations during the sorting process, such as dividing the material into classes and fractions by quality and size, as well as identifying and removing damaged products. In order to improve the quality of sorting of root tubers and onions by size, it is necessary to ensure the development of an automatic control system for operating and technological parameters, the use of which will eliminate manual sorting on bulkhead tables in post-harvest processing. To fulfill these conditions, the developed automatic control system must have the ability to identify the material on the sorting surface, taking into account external damage and ensuring the automatic removal of impurities. In this study, the highest sorting accuracy of tubers (of more than 91%) was achieved with a forward speed of 1.2 m/s for the conveyor of the sorting table, with damage to 2.2% of the tubers, which meets the agrotechnical requirements for post-harvest processing. This feature distinguishes the developed device from similar ones.

Hydrolysis process is the key part of sulfuric acid method’s production technology of titanium dioxide, it is also the most rigorous part of the process control, and precipitate out the white hydration precipitation TiO2 from the mother liquor, and separate from other soluble metal sundry ions, further purify the TiO2. The quality of hydrolysis product not only affects the normal operation of the follow-up, but also affects the quality of the final product directly. This article do some study and design to the hydrolysis automatic control, use computer,DCS and PLC control the hydrolysis operation process, temperature control, steam heating system, That means comprised monitoring station by the DCS,CRT, mouse and keyboard replace the simulates panel and operator, and use the fuzzy theory control the hydrolysis temperature rise process, improve the accuracy and precision of the operating, at the same time, reduce the labor intensity of the workers, realize the automatic control of the hydrolysis process, stabilize and improve the product quality effectively

Textured soybean protein (TSP) is a product made from cooking and extrusion of soybean protein, which has been widely used in food, feed and other industries. This text made soybean protein isolated (SPI) and soybean protein concentrate (SPC) as the raw materials to produce filamentous protein production. By experiment, the influence of puffing temperature, screw speed and feed rate on the quality of the protein products was studied. Finally it was concluded that when the temperature of the barrel was 152 °C, the screw rotation speed was 119 rpm, the feed rate was 0.426 kg/min, the TSP product had the biggest expansion degree.

The stability index apparatus is presented, which adopts electrochemical principle and microcontroller technology to determine the solution alkalinity of the circulating water processed by CaCO3. Base on it, this apparatus calculates the stability exponent to evaluate whether the measured water is stable, or existing the tendency of fouling or corrosion. The scaling and the corrosion of pipes and equipments are relieved by controlling the quality of the circulating water. This paper presents the new stability exponent apparatus with which the stability of the water quality can be determined accurately and provides the basis for controlling the water quality. The automatic control of water quality is realized by this apparatus with the cooperation of the dosing system, ensuring the circulating water piping to be safe and stable.

Bobbin FSW technique is assessed in terms of process productivity and robustness considering the metallurgical and mechanical qualities of the joint. Several different designed bobbin tools were applied to aluminium A6xxx alloy extrusions, at feed rate of 400-1000mm/min with tool rotation speed of 600-1000rpm. In case of A6068-T6, a joint efficiency of 68% was achieved at 600mm/min, which is almost equivalent to the productivity and quality of the conventional FSWed joints, hence the potential of bobbin FSW technique was suggested. The bobbin tool design was further optimized considering the practical process robustness to the part fit issue, and defect free welds have been achieved for the joints with a set gap up to 1mm. However, the oxide remnant, so called “lazy S” was observed in a joint made with an inadequate designed tool, which significantly deteriorates the mechanical properties.
