Preeclampsia is a pregnancy syndrome affecting multiple organ systems, characterized by hypertension and proteinuria after 20 weeks of gestation. The incidence of preeclampsia is estimated to be 3-10% of pregnancies worldwide and is the leading cause of death for pregnant women. Preeclampsia is a life-threatening obstetric emergency, so it needs prompt and precise treatment to prevent morbidity and mortality. WHO estimates that the incidence of preeclampsia is seven times higher in developing countries (2.8% of live births) than in developed countries 1,2 (0.4%).

Abstract: Preeclampsia is a life-threatening disease and can occur in all pregnant women. Preeclampsia was defined as a disease in pregnant women that is characterized by an increase in blood pressure exceeds 140 mmHg for systolic and 90 mmHg for diastolic that occured in pregnant women with gestational age above 20 weeks. In recent decades the incidence of preeclampsia continues to rise and is caused by various factors. Factors to be considered as the most influential is the process of the growth of the placenta which is abnormal, but the main factors that trigger the growth of the placenta become abnormal is not yet certainly known, some studies tryingto find out the various factors that can trigger the growth of abnormal placentation of preeclampsia, especially the associationof the growth pattern blood vessels in the placenta are thought to have a major role in the occurrence of preeclampsia in pregnant women. From these studies are found several biomarkers that are believed to be an early marker in an attempt to prevent the occurrence of preeclampsia in pregnant women, such as angiogenic markers, immunological markers, markers of Metabolic and Endocrine marker. Keywords: Preeclampsia, Abnormal Placentation, and Early Biomarker.

Anemia is still a problem in developing countries. The World Health Organization states that there are still more than 50 percent of women in the world suffering from anemia. anemia can cause life-threatening bleeding, miscarriage, low birth weight and premature birth. WHO defines anemia as a condition where the hemoglobin level is less than 11 mg / dL in the first and last trimester or 10.5 mg / dL in the second trimester or the hematocrit level is less than 37 percent. The study aim to determine the effect of Fe tablets consumption on hemoglobin (Hb) level increase in pregnant women and to find out the factors related to the compliance of pregnant women taking Fe tablets.  This Systematic Literature Publication and Science uses databases with the period 2008-2018. The selection of articles was based on the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The Appraisal study employed The Joanna Briggs Institute Critical Appraisal Tools. Taking Fe tablets is very influential in increasing levels of Hb in pregnant women who suffer from anemia. Effective iron supplements to reduce anemia in pregnancy. Support from family and closest people has an important role in increasing adherence to taking Fe tablets.

Urinary tract infections (UTI) are common infections that can be mild to life threatening. However, increased bacterial resistance and poor patient compliance rates have limited the effectiveness of conventional antibiotic therapies. Here, we investigated the relationship between nitrofurantoin and amikacin against 12 clinical MDR uropathogenic Escherichia coli (UPEC) strains both in vitro and in an experimental Galleria mellonella model. In vitro synergistic effects were observed in all 12 test strains by standard checkerboard and time-kill assays. Importantly, amikacin or nitrofurantoin at half of the clinical doses were not effective in the treatment of UPEC infections in the G. mellonella model but the combination therapy significantly increased G. mellonella survival from infections caused by all 12 study UPEC strains. Taken together, these results demonstrated synergy effects between nitrofurantoin and amikacin against MDR UPEC.

Abstract Pregnant women are an important at-risk population to consider during public health emergencies. These women, like nonpregnant adults, may be faced with the risk of acquiring life-threatening infections during outbreaks or bioterrorism (BT) events and, in some cases, can experience increased severity of infection and higher morbidity compared with nonpregnant adults. Yersinia pestis, the bacterium that causes plague, is a highly pathogenic organism. There are 4 million births annually in the United States, and thus the unique needs of pregnant women and their infants should be considered in pre-event planning for a plague outbreak or BT event.
