Anxiety is one of the critical medical conditions that affect individuals due to various reasons. Some of these reasons may be related to inheritance while others are acquired during major life events. In this investigation, the level of unemployment anxiety was evaluated for students at Firat University, Elazığ, Turkey. The study population comprised of 1161 students. The sampling of investigation consisted of 30% of the population (333) students randomly selected from both genders. Spielberger State -Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI) has been utilized for evaluating both state and unemployment anxiety levels. Furthermore, for analysing the results, SPSS 22.0 was applied. The null hypothesis in this research was considered as (p < .05) where any lower significance was considered as evidence proofing the existence of a relationship. The results revealed that there were significant relationships between the state anxiety and gender (for both male and female), age ranges (16-18) and (19-21), first and second educational years, job priorities (having a status and being a human useful for society), work experience, and for the hope of finding a job. On the other hand, significant relationships were found between the trait anxiety and both male and female students, age ranges (19-21), (22-25) and (26-28), study level, job priorities (earning money and being a human useful for society), work experience and the hope of finding a job.

This study aimed to investigate the criteria considered by Iranian publishers for admitting translators. In order to achieve this purpose, the qualifications developed by Samuelson-Brown were employed to design a 19-item Likert scale questionnaire on a continuum from ‘strongly agree’ to ‘strongly disagree’. Some of the qualifications mentioned in the questionnaire were academic degree, translation competence, work experience, proficiency test, translators’ sense of responsibility for their task and the direct relationship between the publishers and the translators. Next, it was handed out to 140 Iranian publishers who were randomly selected as the participants from different parts of Iran for data collection. The collected data were analysed both qualitatively and quantitatively using the chi-squared test to see whether there were any significant relationships between each item and the participants’ attitudes. The qualitative results showed that almost all participants agreed with considering most qualifications as their own criteria to recruit translators, of course with some variations in their opinions on the significance of the variables of interest. However, the result of the chi-squared test showed a significant relationship only between four variables of inclusion of proficiency test, computer literacy, the translators’ relationship with the publisher and gender. The results can have some practical implications on translation course developers, students and teachers.

The present study explored the hypothesis that, when facing a threatening situation persons high in dispositional self-focus will exhibit higher state-anxiety than persons low in dispositional self-focus. It was predicted that dispositional self-focus is positively correlated with trait-anxiety and in a threatening situation is associated with increased ‘worry.’ The relation between the experience of anxiety and the direction of attention was investigated using the private self-consciousness subscale as a measure of dispositional self-focus. 64 undergraduate male and female students scored high on a measure of state-anxiety prior to a course examination. Women had significantly higher state-anxiety scores than men. Significant correlations were found for private self-consciousness with state-anxiety, trait-anxiety, and ‘worry.’ These results are discussed in relation to the experience of anxiety.

This study aimed to analyze gender, anxiety, and psychological inflexibility differences of high school students’ behaviors in a simulated situation of peer coercion into academic cheating. Method: A total of 1147 volunteer adolescents participated, (Men: N = 479; Mage = 16.3; Women: N = 668; Mage = 16.2). The participants saw 15 s animated online video presenting peer coercion into an academic cheating situation, including a questionnaire about their reactions to face the situation. They also answered the State–Trait Anxiety Inventory for children and adolescents and the Avoidance and Fusion Questionnaire for Youth (AFQ-Y). Gender was associated with the behaviors facing the situation. Higher state anxiety and inflexibility were present in those participants that avoided aggressive behaviors facing the situation; on the other hand, trait anxiety was present in those who reacted aggressively. Finally, higher anxiety and inflexibility were associated with the used moral disengagement mechanisms, but also with peers’ perception as sanctioning or being against the participants’ decision. The most aggressive students were more flexible and less stressed than those who tried to solve assertively. Expectations about peers seem to be relevant to the decision-making facing moral dilemmas and peer victimization.

Chapter 4 is the first chapter in part B of the book, “The Ascetical and Eschatological Mixture of Male and Female,” which considers the significance of two major life-events—the death of two of his siblings, first Basil and then Macrina—on Gregory’s theological and philosophical reflections. Part B also highlights the doctrinal controversies with which Gregory contended as Bishop of Nyssa. Chapter 4 examines Gregory’s ascetical theology during the middle period of his literary career. It begins with a recapitulation of the nexus of associations that arose out of the early phase to chart their train of development in the middle period. Particular focus is given to Gregory’s application (and adaptation) of Plato’s account of “mixed pleasures,” which he uses to characterize human life after the fall. This leads to an analysis of the sufferings of the ascetic life that Gregory portrays as a necessary counterweight to the pursuit of worldly pleasure. Whereas the De virginitate presents the life of virginity as an ascetic release from the worldly burdens associated with the conjugal life, Gregory in the middle period highlights the sufferings inherent in lifelong celibacy (such as loneliness). What then follows is a discussion of the male/female hierarchy in marriage, which Gregory appears to support on the basis of biblical authority and his contempt for worldly manifestations of “womanish” vice.

Personalities of 64 sex offenders (rapists, molesters, and incestuous types) referred for treatment were compared. No significant differences on MMPI scores or IQ were noted among subgroups of molesters. Significant trait anxiety indicated that molesters of both males and females had higher anxiety than incestuous offenders. Also, a significant difference was noted on state anxiety; all groups decreased scores over treatment. A significant effect of brief therapy also occurred for trait anxiety. All groups but incestuous offenders decreased on trait anxiety over 5-wk. therapy. Male and female molester groups decreased in self-esteem whereas incestuous types and rapists increased in self-esteem. Implications are provided for these results.

ABSTRACT This study aims to provide empirical evidence and analyze independence, competence, work experience and gender on the quality of LHP study results. The population of this study is a reviewer in the Main Inspectorate of BPK and staff outside the main Inspectorate unit that has revised LHP. The sample in this study was 56 reviewer. The data in this study is the primary data obtained from the answers of questionnaires given to the respondents. Hypothesis testing is done by using multiple regression which has previously tested the validity, reliability and test of classical principle. Test results show achievement and results. Further research can test based on gender groups to find out evidence of experience as a determinant of the quality of the results of the study. This is done with consideration based on the samples tested, where the number of male and female smoothes is not much different, the experience is not proven by the review results. Abstract Cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) in India is increasing day by day. Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-Cov-2) is a new virus of coronavirus family therefore not much information available, thus making it very difficult task to make medicine or vaccine for this virus as early as possible. So, it is very important to analyse the data and find meaningful insight in data so graph of cases that is increasing day by day can be flatten out. For current study, Karnataka state data has taken and Chi square test is performed to find relationship between gender (male and female), age group (less than 18, 19 to 40, 41 to 65 and greater than 65) and current status (recovered, hospitalized and deceased). Our results show that gender is independent of current status and age group is dependent upon current status and age group and gender relationship is also dependent.

Purpose The purpose of this study was to investigate how speech naturalness relates to masculinity–femininity and gender identification (accuracy and reaction time) for cisgender male and female speakers as well as transmasculine and transfeminine speakers. Method Stimuli included spontaneous speech samples from 20 speakers who are transgender (10 transmasculine and 10 transfeminine) and 20 speakers who are cisgender (10 male and 10 female). Fifty-two listeners completed three tasks: a two-alternative forced-choice gender identification task, a speech naturalness rating task, and a masculinity/femininity rating task. Results Transfeminine and transmasculine speakers were rated as significantly less natural sounding than cisgender speakers. Speakers rated as less natural took longer to identify and were identified less accurately in the gender identification task; furthermore, they were rated as less prototypically masculine/feminine. Conclusions Perceptual speech naturalness for both transfeminine and transmasculine speakers is strongly associated with gender cues in spontaneous speech. Training to align a speaker's voice with their gender identity may concurrently improve perceptual speech naturalness. Supplemental Material https://doi.org/10.23641/asha.12543158
