College students ( N = 125) with concealable chronic health conditions (CCHCs) completed online surveys at the beginning and end of the semester assessing stigma experiences and academic outcomes. Correlations showed stigma, alienation, and lack of campus fit were associated with greater illness-related academic interference ( ps < 0.001), negative academic self-comparison ( ps < 0.001), academic anxiety ( ps < 0.001), academic dissatisfaction ( ps < 0.001), and lower expected grades (except alienation; ps < 0.001–0.03) over time. Hierarchical multiple regressions identified a lack of campus fit as an important predictor across academic outcomes ( ps < 0.001–0.019). Students with CCHCs face health- and stigma-related challenges that can interfere with academic performance.

The current study examined the role locus of control and family dynamics play in academic anxiety of high school students. Locus of Control refers to a personality dimension that enables understanding one’s behaviour (Rotter, 1966). Locus of Control seems to play a vital role in Test anxiety defined as “a psychological state of mind characterised by fear and worry” Olatoye and Afuwape (2003). For the purpose of this study, the sample comprised of 30 high school going students randomly chosen from the Government schools of Delhi (Age Range= 15- 18 years). The sample was administered locus of control scale (Anand kumar and Srivastav 1985) and Westside Test Anxiety Scale. The results arrived at through t-test were found to be significantly meaningful in understanding test anxiety as a construct.

This study focuses on the mapping of the Islamic studies approach in one of Richard C. Martin's edited works entitled Approaches to Islam in Religious Studies. This study takes a descriptive-analytical form which begins by revealing the background of writing to the historical evolution of religious studies. Through this study, several conclusions that can be presented are related to Martin's academic anxiety, which he admits is motivated by a weakness between the theological approach which maintains a normative understanding of religions, and the history of religion point of view which emphasizes analytical descriptions and requires distance for the researchers. While related to the evolution of the study of the history of religion, he assessed the development of independent studies after historical studies, anthropology, sociology, theology and the study of the east, and therefore, developments in these studies were quite influential in the way historians of religions worked. further developments are deemed necessary to separate religious studies from other disciplines.

Background: In the face of the 2019 Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) outbreak, Chinese medical students worried about their future studies which might make them more susceptible to academic anxiety. Previous studies have shown that academic anxiety is an important risk factor for self-handicapping, but there are few studies to explore the relationship between the two which may be mediated or moderated by other variables. Therefore, this study investigated how Chinese medical students' academic anxiety is correlated to their self-handicapping in time of COVID-19 epidemic, and explored the moderating and mediating effects of hardiness and procrastination. Methods: In this study, 320 Chinese medical students' psychological traits were measured with Academic Anxiety Questionnaire, Self-Handicapping Scale, General Procrastination Scale and Hardiness Scale to explore the potential associations between these variables. Results: The most obvious finding to emerge from this study was that self- handicapping had a positive correlation with academic anxiety and procrastination, but had a negative correlation with hardiness; hardiness had a negative association with academic anxiety and procrastination; and academic anxiety and procrastination were positively correlated. In addition, the relationship between academic anxiety and self-handicapping of Chinese medical students was not only partially mediated by procrastination, but also moderated by hardiness. Furthermore, medical students who had lower hardiness had stronger direct effect, while the indirect effect was strong at high and low conditions of hardiness. Conclusion: In time of the COVID-19 epidemic, the academic anxiety and self-handicapping of medical students are influenced by procrastination and hardiness to a great extent. Thus, in addition to suggesting that more attention should be paid to the academic anxiety and procrastination of medical students, in the future, more attention should be paid to cultivating the hardiness of medical students and exerting its interventional role in self-handicapping.

This study aims to find the relationship of academic self-management and academic anxiety on academic achievement in first-year students at Institut Teknologi Bandung with quantitative methods on 111 samples of the first-year students. The results of the regression analysis showed that academic self-management and academic anxiety contributed 21.4% of students' academic achievement as measured by the Grade Point Average (GPA). Academic anxiety has a significant negative relationship to academic achievement, moreover, this study also found a significant difference in academic anxiety between students with low, moderate, and high academic achievement. Students with higher academic achievement have lower academic anxiety and vice versa. In first-year students at Institut Teknologi Bandung, the highest component of academic anxiety is the patterns of anxiety-engendering mental activity which indicates low student confidence and self-esteem. The findings of this research can be the basis for PeKa TPB Ministry of KM ITB in designing the character development program for the first-year students.

Academic burnout of basic education is widespread in varying degrees in the global scope, and such situation is particularly serious in Chinese primary and secondary schools. International research has rarely mentioned the concept of academic burden, which is mainly described in other similar concepts, such as academic burnout, academic stress, academic depression and academic anxiety. In addition, studies in other countries have paid more attention to the negative influence of academic load on students’ body and mind. Based on international perspective, the paper clarifies the somatic and psychological symptoms, behavior and attitude symptoms and symptoms of academic burnout caused by heavy academic burden, analyzes the influence factors of academic burden, and compares the function and applied scope of inventories and scales for academic burden. Findings enlighten us to focus on the teaching situations and students’ nature, increase empirical research and quantitative research of academic burden, put forward evidence-based, operational and pragmatic strategy of alleviating academic burden.
