Life science research has been actively carried out in space for a long time using bioreactor equipment, in anticipation of manned space exploration and space tourism. Such studies have reported that the microgravity environment has a negative effect on the human body, including the musculoskeletal system, nervous system, and endocrine system. Bone loss and muscular atrophy are issues that need to be resolved before long-term exposure of the human body to a space environment. To address this problem, Y. K. Kim et al. designed a system in 2015 and performed an evaluation of an automated bioreactor development model (DM) for space experiments. In this study, we developed an automated bioreactor engineering model (EM) based on the previous literature, and conducted media exchange performance testing using the Bradford assay. We used a novel method that allowed quantitative assessment of the media exchange rate versus the conventional assessment method using visual observation with a camera. By measuring the media exchange rate of the automated bioreactor EM, we attempted to verify applicability for the system for space experiments. We expect that the experimental method proposed in this study is useful for logical determination of liquid exchange or circulation in different closed systems.

A solar-powered omnidirectional wheelchair is implemented for physically challenged persons. The framework was mounted on the wheels that were connected with two direct current (DC) motors. The ratings of the battery and solar module were determined using system voltage (12V). A 7,805-voltage regulator was used to supply 5VDC to the AT89352 microcontroller. The microcontroller was programmed to provide a reference signal to the motor. The motor provides the needed torque to drive the wheels through interconnected relays. The relays are energized by the microcontroller and omnidirectional movement achieved through relays connected with microprocessor and micro switches, eliminating the need for joysticks and complex control mechanisms. System performance test result showed that the auxiliary solar power supply of the wheelchair increased the travel range by approximately 86% compared with that of a wheelchair powered by battery alone.

Performance acceptance test for gas-steam Combined Cycle Power Plant (CCPP) is of great significance for both equipment manufacturer and customer. The influence of measurement error on the calculation of guaranteed performance data as power output and heat rate can lead to unnecessary loss for either party. Commonly used uncertainty analysis method based on ASME PTC 19.1 would require all measuring instrumentation working at designed accuracy range. Meanwhile, due to the complexity of CCPP system and large number of measuring items, and as well the propagation of measurement and data reduction error, the uncertainty of corrected performance data could be significant. In this paper, process data reconciliation method based on VDI 2048 is introduced. With access to complete performance test data from a CCPP project, data reconciliation calculation is performed with an appropriate thermodynamic model. Several measurement values with gross error are identified and verified in heat balance calculation. Moreover, after recalculating with the reconciled data instead of raw data for the corrected power output and heat rate, comparison with the common uncertainty analysis method is also carried out. It is shown that with this reconciliation method, it is not only possible to find out gross errors such as instrumentation drift, but also able to dramatically increase the test result accuracy, which is of great value for both manufacturer and customer.

<p><em>This research aimed at finding the effects of teaching media and emotional intelligence on students’ speaking skill. The research is an experimental research involving 40 students in STIKes YPAK Padang. The data were collected by giving the students a speaking performance test and a questionnaire of emotional intelligence. The data was analyzed by using two ways analysis of variance (ANOVA 2x2). Before doing the analysis, the data normality was tested by using Kolmogorov-Smirnov test to see if the population where the sample was taken had normal distribution. The result of the research concluded: (1) Teaching media gives a significant effect on the students’ speaking skill. Test result obtained that p-value for category teaching media is 0,008 &lt; 0,05 and F observe 7,931. (2) Emotional intelligence gives a significant effect on the students’ speaking skill in STIKes YPAK Padang. The result obtained that p-value for emotional intelligence is 0,000 &lt; 0,05 and F observe 40,458. (3) Teaching media and emotional intelligence give significant interaction effects of students’ speaking skill. Test result retrieved that p-value for category of teaching media and emotional intelligence is 0,010 &lt; 0,05 and F observe 7,393. </em></p>

AbstrakPengujian unjuk kerja pompa sentrifugal multistage berkapasitas 118,5 kW di kawasan Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Panas Bumi (PLTP) daerah Jawa Barat saat ini akan menyesuaikan prosedur standar. Standar pengujian pompa diterapkan pada proses pengujian pompa dengan tujuan nilai hasil pengujian valid. Nilai head dan debit yang didapat dari pengujian dibandingkan dengan hasil pengujian sebelum penerapan standar. Pengujian pompa sentrifugal menerapkan metode pengujian lapangan dengan menerapkan standar ISO 9906-2012. Standar ISO 9906-2012 adalah panduan baku pengujian pompa rotodinamik. Dari hasil pengujian, didapatkan kurva pompa sentrifugal multistage debit maksimal 116,64 m3/h pada head 275,13 m. Pada data spesifikasi kapasitas pompa sebesar 108 m3/jam dan head total sebesar 300 m. Hal ini berarti prosedur pengujian pompa ISO 9906-2012 dapat memungkinkan kita untuk melihat kinerja pompa aktual.Kata kunci: pompa sentrifugal, pengujian lapangan, uji kinerja pompa, ISO 9906  AbstractPerformance test of multistage centrifugal pump at geothermal power plant area around west java is about to adapt standard procedure. Pump testing standards are applied during pump performance test in order to valid test result values. Head and flowrate value from current test compared with previous test result before standard are applied. Pump performance test use field test method by applying ISO 9906-2012 standard. ISO 9906-2012 standard is a normative guidance for rotodynamic pump testing. The test result shows multistage centrifugal pump curve maximum flowrate is 116,64 m3/h at total head 275,13 m. Pump specification sheet shows that maximum capacity is 108 m3/h and total head 300 m. It indicates that ISO 9906-2012 standard pump testing procedure allow us to determine actual pump performance.Kata kunci: Centrifugal pump, field test, performance test, ISO 9906

The conventional asphalt road has almost been considered fail to serve the transportation needs. It is indicated by the occurrence of premature damage which is caused by vehicle load and climate. Starbit E-55, the polymer modified bitumen, is formulated to meet the requirement of transport development. Considering those needs, it is important to investigate the feasibility level of that modified bitumen as alternate asphalt instead of the conventional one. This research began with the measurement of the properties of hard layered AC-WC Starbit E-55, then comparing the result to 60/70 penetration of Pertamina asphalt. The next step is then, to determine the converted value so as to be close to that of Pertamina (60/70 penetration). This step is conducted by applying durability and ITS tests on the mixture. Result of the tests showed that hard layered AC-WC Starbit E-55 has better characteristic at 5.7% optimum level asphalt and 6.4% of Pertamina asphalt (60/70 penetration). Starbit E-55 converted level within hard-layered ACWC is 5.6%. The performance test result on immersion with variance of 1, 3, 5, 7 and 14 days shows that durability value of Starbit E-55 AC-WC has better performance. During the process, Starbit E-55 required 15.38% higher energy consumption.

The purpose of this study is to determine how relationship and influence of safety, occupational health and work environment to employees performance at PT. Dwi Lestari. The research method was used with explanatory analysis approach that is explaining the causalistic relationship between variables. Technique of data analysis was used by finding regression and correlation, determination coefficient and hypothesis test, but before it was analyzed, first was done instrument test of research data. Results of this research was obtained there is relationship and positive influence and significant between safety variables, occupational health and work environment to employees performance at PT. Dwi Lestari Nusantara by using F test. F test was used to test the feasibility of model in research. Results the trial fo F test showed that regression model can be used to predict employees performance. Test result of t test showed that safety, occupational health have positive and significant influence to employees performance, and work environment have positive and significant influence to employees performance at PT. Dwi Lestari Nusantara. While safety, occupational health were variables which is very dominant and influence to employees performance at PT. Dwi Lestari Nusantara. Conclusion, there is a positive and significant influence between safety variables, occupational health and work environment to employees performance at PT. Dwi Lestari Nusantara.
