Objectives. To explore research mentoring experiences and perceived mentoring needs of aging and disability researchers at different career stages.Design. Focus group and individual interviews with rehabilitation researchers at various career stages based in hospitals, universities, and hospital-based research institutes in Ontario, Canada.Results. The overall theme wasmentoring for transition. Participants across career stages referred to helpful mentoring experiences as those that assisted them to move from their previous stage into the present stage or from the present stage into their next career progression. Unhelpful mentoring experiences were characterized by mentor actions that were potentially detrimental to transition. Subsumed under this theme were three categories. The first, “hidden information” referred to practical information that was difficult to access. The second “delicate issues” referred to helping the participant work through issues related to sensitive matters, the discussion of which could put the participants or their colleagues in a vulnerable position. The third category was “special challenges of clinician-researchers”.Conclusions. Helpful mentoring for rehabilitation researchers working on concerns related to aging and disability appears to be characterized by interaction with more experienced individuals who aid the researcher work through issues related to career transition.

Aim. To identify current trends in hospital eye trauma based on the materials of the specialized ophthalmology department of a round-the-clock hospital. Materials and methods. The analysis of medical records of patients treated in the round-the-clock specialized ophthalmology department of the state medical establishment OKB No. 2 in the period since January 2017-2019. Results. During the analyzed period, 4948 patients were treated, of which 218 patients (5.6%) were identified for nosologies belonging to the category of eye trauma. Men are most often exposed to eye injuries (84%), in addition, in 62% of cases, these are young patients (18-44 years). The structure of eye trauma is almost unchanged: the leading position is occupied by penetrating wounds of the eyeball and contusions, the third place is occupied by burns, through wounds of the eyeball are rare. Conclusions. Given the poor prognosis of the outcome of a severe eyeball injury, it requires the introduction of modern types of microsurgical intervention using endovitreal surgery at the present stage.

Historically the Chilean educational system has not recognized the importance of emotions; on the contrary they have been ignored in learning processes. In order to denounce this situation, the purpose of this study is to identify emotional perceptions and attributions in students of Pedagogy in Physical Education during their first Practicum placement. The study follows a qualitative approach and the participants are 19 students of year 2016. Data were collected through journal writing, focus groups and non-standardized individual interviews, which gave way to the analysis of the data, through grounded theory. The results indicate that students perceived positive and negative emotions which can be classified within four main categories. The first refers to teachers’ actions, the second to student's actions, the third to students’ imaginaries and the last category to events which are external to the class. It is concluded that pedagogical work which fosters comprehensive and cheerful interactions and a methodology based on constructivist approaches, where students play an active role in their learning, creates perceptions of positive emotions.

The article presents a new concept of using thermography – steganography in thermography. Steganography is a technique of hiding information in a non-obvious way and belongs to the field of science related to information security. This article examines three examples of steganographic channels – covert communication channels that use thermal imaging devices in three different ways. The first proposed method uses the possibility of alternating the scene observed by the infrared camera in a way that additional information is included in the thermogram. The second method, called ThermoSteg, uses modification of one of the parameters of the thermal imaging camera (integration time) to embed the signal containing hidden information. The third method is based on digital thermograms and the methods of replacing dead pixels in them by creating the so-called zombie pixels carrying secretive information. Three methods have been implemented under real conditions and proven to work in practice.

Pathological conditions associated with anomalies of formation, eruption, the presence of third molars in the oral cavity of patients and the development of a significant number of complications due to this continue to be relevant in recent decades for dentists of all specialties. In adult individuals, diseases of the third molars in 7.27% are the reason for contacting dental health institutions. The purpose of the work was to analyze the frequency of third molar pathology at the present stage, identify unresolved issues and determine the directions for further clinical and laboratory research based on the data available in Russian and foreign specialized literature. Material and methods. The analysis of special literature containing information about the number of pathological cases of the third molars was carried out. The list of analyzed special literature included: periodicals for the last 15-20 years, basic manuals, monographs and articles published different years. The descriptive method is used for the analysis. Results and discussion. Due to the prevalence, all pathological processes associated with the third molars can be divided into three groups. The first of them consists of clinical situations that lead to pathological changes on the part of occlusion. The second group should include retention and dystopia of intact third molars that do not have any inflammatory and destructive processes and negative occlusal factor. The third group should include the third molars as retinated, dystopian and erupted with the existing inflammatory and destructive processes. The latter group deserves special attention due to the following facts. First, 1/5 of the entire practically healthy young population has anomalies in the position of the third molars, the eruption of which is complicated by infectious and inflammatory processes. Secondly, in multi-specialty hospitals, 15-18% of adult patients are individuals with acute odonogenic infectious and inflammatory processes caused by the third molars. Third, this pathology affects people of working and fertile age. Fourthly, this issue is very important for military dentistry, as it is one of the main reasons for the appeal of military personnel on conscription and contract to a dentist both in the military unit and in the dental clinic. Conclusion. Based on the analysis of the frequency of pathology of third molars at the present stage, the most relevant nosologies were identified and unresolved issues related to them. The results of analysis will determine the direction of further clinical and laboratory studies

The Medical Worker Day is celebrated in Russia every year on the third Sunday of June. This year's celebration falls on June 21, and it is more relevant than ever - hundreds and thousands of doctors and nurses are at the forefront in the fight against a terrible epidemic this year that did not spare anyone - neither old people, nor even children. They still continue to fight for the human lives, and do it every day. Since the Second World War, our planet has not been in such a crisis. During the current pandemic, the situation is aggravated by a lack of understanding of the scale of the process, a lack of knowledge about the pathogen, the absence of etiotropic treatment and methods of specific prophylaxis. Doctors are not Gods; they turned out to be able to go a long way, but, unfortunately, have not yet learned to perform miracles. It’s widely known that at the present stage in the world there is a lack of about 6 million nurses, and after all, they are one of the most important links performing doctors’ orders. It is their work and dedication to the chosen cause that leads to competent treatment and speedy recovery of patients. The problem of the shortage of medical personnel is typical for the health care of a large number of countries, however, abroad, a partial easing of the developing shortage of secondary medical personnel is ensured by active involvement of social workers in the healthcare sector, which helps to reduce the workload of medical personnel by delegating part of the duties to workers without medical education [1]. For centuries, medicine has been considered one of the most revered and responsible professions. Everyday care for the health of the population, the prevention of diseases, the return of patients to a full life – it gives a special status to medical workers, people of the highest public duty.

Sports career is brief and sport career transition (SCT) is a well-researched topic to see how players deal with it. Cricket is the most popular sport in India and the game is evolving thick and fast. Cricket has become an all season sport barring rainy and snowy conditions. Plethora of options are now available to the players which includes test cricket, one day international (ODI), twenty 20 international (T20I), Indian Premier League (IPL) and similar franchise-based leagues on T20 and T10 along with first-class domestic cricket. With this deluge in cricket, it is pertinent to study career progression of cricketers. IPL, despite a brand value of US$6.3 billion, is often criticized for bringing players into limelight too soon, paving way for playing test matches and fading even sooner into oblivion being unable to cope with volume and variety of cricket. The present article analyses Indian cricketers’ career progression pattern using hierarchical clustering analysis, and it also investigates if cricketers are graduating faster from domestic to test cricket using two-sample t-test.

The article analyses the results of the historical research activities of productive meetings at the enterprises of Soviet industry in the 1920s-30s. Analysis of the historiography has allowed the authors highlighting the trends and stages of work study meetings. In the fi rst phase in the second half of the 1920s, the research focuses on the forms and methods of organisation of workers' self-government and its role in the life of enterprises. Subsequently, in the 1930s, the production meetings are considered as an element of socialist competition. At the third stage, in the 1950s-70s, historians focused on the role of production meetings in the development of political consciousness of workers. In 1980s-90s, interest in the study of this topic is reduced. At the present stage, due to the intensifi cation of the study of history of the working movement, the topic of production meetings has again become topical. The authors identify the tasks of further study of the history of production meetings.

Background: the issue of the study of Rus’-Polish relations in the context of the struggle of Danylo and Vasylko Romanoviches for the paternal heritage is important at the present stage of the development of the historical research. Interstate relations between Rus’ and Poland in the first half of the 13th century need extensive analysis for finding out their peculiarities. Purpose: to objectively cover the peculiarities of the international relations of Rus’ and Poland during the Romanoviches’ struggle for the paternal inheritance in 1205–1245. For this it is necessary to consider topical issues of the Rus’-Polish relations, to analyze the discussion aspects of the policy of the Polish princes concerning the Volyn and Galicia lands, to determine the peculiarities of the interstate relations of Rus’, Poland, Hungary and the Golden Horde. Results: Rus’-Polish relations of the times of Danylo and Vasylko Romanoviches’ struggle for paternal heritage were complicated. Chronologically there are several periods: the first – 1205–1227, the second – 1227–1235, and the third – 1235–1245. If during the first period the political dependence of the young Danylo and Vasylko on the experienced Leshko Bilyi was observed, then after the death of prince of Little Poland, during the second period, the Romanoviches became allies of Conrad I. When the prince of Mazovia decided to support Mikhailo Vsevolodovich in the fight for Galych the third period began. The alternation of peaceful, hostile and allied relations between the rulers of Rus’ and Poland is common to all the three periods. The difference is that there was a change in the political priorities of the Polish princes depending on the changes in the position of Danylo and Vasylko. The victory of the Romanoviches in the Yaroslav battle in 1245 was a logical finish of the forty-years struggle of Roman Mstislavoviches’ sons for their father’s inheritance. Key words: Rus’-Polish relations, Volyn land, Galych land, Danylo Romanovich, Vasylko Romanovich, Leshko Bilyi, Konrad I Mazowiecki.
