In this paper, we proposed the terahertz technique to measure the liquid level of Chinese liquor in sealed pots. We analyzed the transmission process of terahertz pulse in the sealed pots and established a model of the relationship between terahertz pulse interval and liquor level. The measurement results are in good agreement with the theoretical model. The results show that the terahertz technique can realize the high precision measurement of liquor level. The absolute and relative errors are less than ±40 μm and 0.014%, respectively. In addition, we also evaluated the influence of dewdrop on the measurement accuracy. The results show that dewdrop only leads to a deviation of 18 μm. The results prove the value of terahertz technology in the field of liquid level monitoring.

Abstract The voltage-based equalization strategy is widely used in the industry because the voltage (U) of the battery cell is very easy to obtain, but it is difficult to provide an accurate parameter for the battery management system (BMS). This study proposes a new equalization strategy, which is based on the difference between the state of charge (SOC) of any two battery cells in the battery pack, that is, a ΔSOC-based equalization strategy. The new strategy is not only as simple as the voltage-based equalization strategy, but it can also provide an accurate parameter for the BMS. Simply put, using the relationship between the open circuit voltage and the SOC of the battery pack, the proposed strategy can convert the difference between the voltage of the battery cells into ΔSOC, which renders a good performance. Additionally, the required parameters are all from the BMS, and no additional calculation is required, which makes the strategy as simple as the voltage-based balancing strategy. The four experiments show that the relative errors of ΔSOC estimated by the ΔSOC-based equalization strategy are 0.37%, 0.39%, 0.1% and 0.17%, and thereby demonstrate that the ΔSOC-based equalization strategy proposed in this study shows promise in replacing the voltage-based equalization strategy within the industry to obtain better performance.

Abstract The main objective of the proposed work was to analyse the influence of magnification and focal spot size scan settings on X-ray computed tomography (CT) measurements results under commercial threshold-based algorithms. The relationship between spatial resolution and contrast sensitivity in CT scans of different materials and the accuracy of the resulting CT measurement results is discussed. For that purpose, Aluminium, Copper, Inconel 718 and Titanium disk phantoms were scanned. Preliminary measurements showed that deviations can increase up to 0.48% when the scanning magnification was increased while, for a given magnification, the decrease of a focus size from 1mm to 0.4mm slightly improves the differences up to 0.15%, being negligible at low magnifications. Unsharpness (U T ) and contrast-to-noise ratio (CNR) were calculated for each scanning conditions according to standard ASTM E1695 – 20. A new image quality indicator that includes the combined effect of the U T and CNR was proposed in order to relate measurement error with the image quality. The indicator proves that the influence of CNR is much higher than influence of U T on the CT measurements.

Due to the increasing number of diabetic patients, early monitoring of glucose levels is particularly important; therefore, glucose biosensors have attracted enormous attention from researchers. In this paper, we propose a glucose microwave biosensor based on RFID and achieve a non-contact measurement of the concentration of glucose solutions. The Reader is a complementary split-ring resonator (CSRR), and the Tag is comprised of a squared spiral capacitor (SSC). A polydimethylsiloxane microfluidic quantitative cavity with a volume of 1.56 μL is integrated on the Tag to ensure that the glucose solution can be accurately set to the sensitive area and fully contacted with the electromagnetic flux. Because the SSC exhibits different capacitances when it contacts glucose solutions of different concentrations, changing the resonant frequency of the CSRR, we can use the relationship to characterize the biosensing response. Measurement results show that bare CSRR and RFID-based biosensors have achieved sensitivities of 0.31 MHz/mg·dL−1 and 10.27 kHz/mg·dL−1, and detection limits of 13.79 mg/dL and 1.19 mg/dL, respectively, and both realize a response time of less than 1 s. Linear regression analysis of the abovementioned biosensors showed an excellent linear relationship. The proposed design provides a feasible solution for microwave biosensors aiming for the non-contact measurement of glucose concentration.

Abstract An assessment of road surface conditions is needed to determine an appropriate road evaluation program. One of the parameters used is the International Roughness Index or IRI. Currently, technological developments encourage the use of smartphone applications as a tool to determine the value of IRI. Comparisons between IRIs obtained using tools, such as roughometers, and IRIs obtained from software applications have not been made. The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between the results of the measurement of the roughometer and the results of the Android application Roadbump Pro. This research was carried out on the Sam Ratulangi Road in Palu City, with a segment length of 600 meters and analyzed per 100 meters. The results of this study indicate that smartphone applications provide good IRI measurement results, so they can be used in road stability assessments. In addition, the type of survey vehicle did not have a significant effect on IRI measurements. Keywords: smartphone, International Roughness Index, roughometer, Roadbump, road stability  Abstrak Penilaian kondisi permukaan jalan diperlukan untuk menentukan program evaluasi jalan yang tepat. Learning outcomes is a whole skill and the results achieved through the learning process in schools defined by the numbers measured by achievement test. While the measure is to apply the measuring instrument to a particular object. Magnitudes numbers obtained, then gained significance when compared to the measurement results to a specific benchmark. Associated with discipline in this study is the tendency to use regulation as a guide in learning a subject and a tendency consistent implementation of rules in learning a subject, and the tendency of commitment to the provision of reward and punishment in the process of studying a course. So with so that there is a positive relationship between the Discipline of the learning outcomes of a course. It means that any increase to the Discipline resulting in the increase of learning outcomes of a course. And this shows if the Disciplinary enhanced the learning outcomes of a course increases. Discipline and vice versa if lower then the learning outcomes of the course also lower suggesting that the learning outcomes of the course is determined by the Discipline. That there is a positive relationship between the discipline of the learning outcomes of a course. This means that every increase of discipline resulted in an increase learning outcomes of a course. So for that, it can be stated that the relationship between the discipline of the learning outcomes of the course well. This shows if the discipline improved the learning outcomes of the course increased as well.

The detection of landmines has become a hard task to deal with because of the diversity of landmines and the complexity of minefield. The development of terahertz technologies has provided a feasible way to detect the buried landmines. Landmines’ shell is usually made of ceramics, plastics, even wood and so on, which terahertz wave could penetrate them easily. The explosives are the major part of landmines. Many types of explosives have the characteristic spectrum in terahertz range, so it would be an effective method to detect landmines by measuring the spectrum of explosives with terahertz time-domain spectroscopy.

A project has been carried out on the correlation of leakage measurements of different gases in specific conditions in bolted flanged assembly. The objectives were: • to check if the relationship between the leakage measurements of Helium, CO2, refrigerant R134a and CH4 would be similar to results of calculations that can be found when using correlation formulas, • to compare emissions of a typical laboratory fluid (Helium) with process fluids like methane, used in petrochemical plants, as well as CO2 and R134a, used in the refrigeration industry. Referring to TA Luft and VDI 2440, which specify a unique test for the certification of gaskets, the configurations of the testing installation used consist of flanges assembled with either PTFE based, graphite or fibre based gaskets. Different gasket loads and internal pressure were applied in order to simulate molecular, intermediate or laminar leakage flow rates. This article describes the test configurations and shows the leakage measurement results. It also compares the ratios between the leakage values and the results that would be obtained by predicting the leakage of another gas and/or in other pressure conditions, using Poiseuille or Knudsen laws.

The rutile titanium dioxide (TiO2) has attracted enormous interest in sensor field owing to its stability at high temperature. But less is known about electron transfer efficiency of rutile TiO2, which is mainly influenced by the electron mobility. The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship between carrier mobility and bicrystalline grains boundary of rutile TiO2 film. In this study, TiO2 film was deposited by the direct current pulsed magnetron sputtering technology with sputtering power from 150 to 900 W. Then the TiO2 films were annealed at [Formula: see text] in air atmosphere. By this way, the rutile TiO2 films were obtained. Special attention was paid to the carrier mobility of rutile TiO2 films. The Hall measurement results showed that with the increase of sputtering power from 150 to 900 W, the carrier mobility of rutile TiO2 films increased from 0.75 to [Formula: see text], gradually. Taking the TEM and SAED results together, our data indicated that the carrier mobility of rutile TiO2 film was influenced by the bicrystalline grains boundary. The large angle bicrystalline grain boundary seriously deteriorates the carrier mobility of rutile TiO2 film. On the contrary, the low angle bicrystalline grain boundary has little influence on the carrier mobility of rutile TiO2 film.

This study refers to the conditions of practical powder metallurgy manufacture process, and proceeds to experiments and gear precision measurements as well as investigation on the effects of two parameters, powders and pitch circle radius, on gear precision. The relationship between gear parameters and gear surface deviations was derived from the mathematical model of the involute helical gear and the analysis of gear surface deviations. In accordance with the measurement results of experiments, an ideal correction on the parameters of a forming die is obtained from the computer simulations of gear surface deviations.
