This study is the first to examine the impact of entrepreneurship education (EE) on entrepreneurial intention (EI) among vocational college students in China. Using the Theory of Planned Behavior and the EI Questionnaire the study investigates the relationships between EI, its antecedents and EE. The data were collected by surveying 383 vocational college students in Wuxi, Jiangsu, in the People's Republic of China. The researcher used Least-Squares Regression modeling to find significant positive relationships between personal attitude, perceived behavioral control, and EE with EI. Mediation analysis found personal attitude to partially mediate the EE–EI relationship. The results suggest EE is effective in stimulating EI in China. This study provides implications to policy-makers, vocational institutions, and scholars given the current state of China's economy, recent government policies, and the ongoing debate surrounding the EE–EI relationship.

Abstract Entrepreneurial intention has been found to be fundamental to decision-making and behavior to become entrepreneurs, with consequent effects on economic development. However, the COVID-19 pandemic calls for a novel approach to teaching entrepreneurship owing to the shift to online learning. The current study explores entrepreneurial intention derived from the entrepreneurship education program (EEP) using an online group-based learning approach. In particular, we examine satisfaction with an online group-based learning approach by integrating the theory of planned behavior with design thinking-based entrepreneurship course, peer interactions, and speaker interactions. The entrepreneurship education program (EEP) in this research was for vocational college students located in Southeast Asia. The online questionnaire was distributed to participants (N = 263, MAGE = 18.64) at the end of the online entrepreneurship education program. The model was tested using a structural equation model analysis. Attitude, subject norm, and satisfaction were found to predict higher entrepreneurial intention among vocational college students. Moreover, design thinking-based entrepreneurship course, peer interaction, and speaker interaction have indirect effects on entrepreneurial intention through satisfaction. This research extends the literature on entrepreneurship education by proposing a novel learning approach, that is, the online groupbased learning approach, which could be applied to entrepreneurship education programs to enhance students’ entrepreneurial intention.

This study’s principal objective is to investigate the relationship between student engagement in learning entrepreneurship education and entrepreneurial intention among students in a vocational college. The selected vocational colleges are located in Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, and the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur. A quantitative approach method was employed where questionnaires were distributed among first-year students enrolled in diploma courses offered by 16 vocational colleges. A sample of 244 students was chosen through stratified random sampling to participate in the study. The descriptive analysis results show that the entrepreneurial intention and student engagement in learning entrepreneurial education among vocational college students were both at a moderate level. The correlational analyses show a moderate-level, positive, and significant relationship between engagement in learning entrepreneurship education and entrepreneurial intention. Among the six variables, only engagement in learning, engagement with academic staff, and engagement in communities predict entrepreneurial intention with an explanation of 84.7%. This indicates that engaging students in the learning of entrepreneurial subjects and skills are essential in fostering their internal motivation and help to build confidence toward starting a business venture and becoming their boss rather than hunting for jobs after college.

Abstract. In this article, we reflect on 50 years of the journal Social Psychology. We interviewed colleagues who have witnessed the history of the journal. Based on these interviews, we identified three crucial periods in Social Psychology’s history, that are (a) the early development and further professionalization of the journal, (b) the reunification of East and West Germany, and (c) the internationalization of the journal and its transformation from the Zeitschrift für Sozialpsychologie to Social Psychology. We end our reflection with a discussion of changes that occurred during these periods and their implication for the future of our field.

Alcohol drinking among young people is a major global public health concern. The situation has been aggravated further by the advent of the internet and subsequent development of social media as a tool for online alcohol marketing. Measures that aim at reducing substance abuse is a stride towards “2030 Agenda” for sustainable development goal number 3 set by the United Nation General Assembly. In this goal, attention is not only drawn to health and wellbeing but also to prevention and treatment of substance abuse. This descriptive study sought to find out the prevalence of alcohol advertisements on social media and its possible influence on alcohol drinking among Kenya’s higher vocational college students. Based on a field survey conducted in Nairobi (n=209), this study established that there was heavy presence of alcohol advertisements on social media scene in Kenya. Although statistically, there was huge gender disparity, the final results showed that there was significant association between alcohol ads on social media and college student’s possible alcohol drinking habits. This study concludes that there was heavy presence of alcohol ads on social media, and the likelihood of youth having unrestricted access to the alcoholic beverage products. This could have a far-reaching implication on their alcohol drinking habits.
