The world is undergoing great changes that have not been seen at present; colleges and universities can only adapt to social development with a more active and open attitude. Meanwhile, colleges and universities strive to obtain more social resources during the process of gradually embedding social funds into the operation system of universities. In such a backdrop, we establish an optimization model for university running efficiency under limited funds, where the objective function is quadratic and restraint condition is linear. With the help of optimization theory, we have obtained the optimal solution of this optimization model and put forward corresponding suggestions to improve the running efficiency of higher education.

Concern regarding capitalism, profiteering, and the corporatization of higher education is not new. A market focus that creates students as consumers and faculty as service providers has dominated global practices in colleges and universities for some time. Most recently, however, this more liberal market-driven focus has actually morphed away from a jurisdictional emphasis (with a potential focus on fairness) to forms of veridiction (neoliberal truth regimes) that legitimate intervention into all aspects of society, the environment, interpretations of the world around us, even into the physical individual bodies of human beings as well as the more-than-human. In higher education, this neoliberal saturation has led to changes that are of seismic proportion. The authors in this special issue describe their own research into, interpretations of, and life experiences as they attempt to survive within this neoliberal condition, and as they also generate counter conducts and ways of thinking without neoliberalism.

Understanding the unique components of diversity, equity, and inclusion is essential for institutions of higher education to increase student success outcomes and to prepare graduates for the world of work. This chapter will focus on how diversity, equity, and inclusion as a single entity is perceived by enrolled students, particularly minority students, and how institutions may help to increase students' awareness of such topics and the impact on their lives upon graduation. Discussions will lend themselves to strategies that institutions may employ to demystify these terms for enrolled students. Specific focus will be given to the use of inclusive competencies and methods institutions may implore to promote inclusive practice. Implications will be provided on how colleges and universities may develop innovative strategies to increase student engagement centered on these concepts and provide opportunities for students to share their experiences and ideas for integration on their respective campuses.

The success of data-driven advertising relies on if future professionals are proficient with basics of Big Data analytics. However, past research of undergraduate advertising curricula around the world has shown that higher education institutions tend to fall behind in offering the most up-to-dated training for advertising students. Findings have shown that undergraduate advertising programs have slowly taken advantage of the potential of the data analytics tools and techniques. This trend is observed among higher education institutions around the world. Practical, research, and pedagogical implications are discussed.

The emergence of science and technology and big data has promoted the emergence of major resource platforms.Mobile libraries have emerged as the world progresses. Users have put forward high requirements for service quality in the process of using mobile libraries. Optimizing service quality is one of the important topics of mobile libraries today. In our paper the mobile library service quality optimization model is constructed from three aspects, including the starting point of the optimization model, the optimization content, and the final construction. While keeping up with the pace of the times, we will meet the needs of users and enhance user satisfaction inorder to promote the development and advancement of mobile libraries.

For the 21st century learner, the foundational principles of information development have grown exponentially. In many fields, the life of knowledge can be measured in months or years, with learning occurring in vastly different ways than in previous decades. Education as a continual process, can last a lifetime, and can be greatly facilitated by technological advances which alter the way in which people access information and think about the world. Faculty members in colleges and universities are challenged to provide a more complete and complex picture of the culture and world in which we live. Educators must maintain a curriculum to meet the demands of an ever-changing population of learners, while striving to diversity higher education curricula to provide a more rigorous educational experience.
