The development of the smart cities with new and integrated information and communication technologies has changed the traditional industries’ processes. One of the domains is construction industry which plays an important supporting role for the economic development of a country, but at the same time, the construction industry is also an industry with high energy consumption and high pollution. Therefore, in order to alleviate the contradiction between economic development and resources and the environment, the construction industry must achieve sustainable development and take the road of green construction. In order to carry out the evaluation of the design effect of colleges and universities, this paper introduces the multisensor perception and fuzzy comprehensive evaluation methods. First, through the design and analysis of the sensor perception system used in the building environment, the collection, acquisition, analysis, and processing of complex information of heterogeneous multiterminals are obtained. Secondly, cluster analysis and genetic algorithms are used in the processing and analysis process of building multiterminal sensor data. The security aspect is also taking into account to design the methods. The system test verifies the performance of the university building design effect evaluation model, which can provide a reference for the sustainable development of the construction industry.

High rise office building design is one of the essential buildings in construction industry due to the limited space especially in the urban area. After home, a high rise office building is an important space for human in modern era. Due to the issue of high energy consumption especially inefficient artificial light strategy, side-day lighting becomes the best solution for a high rise office building design. Despite providing efficient energy consumption, side-day lighting creates a positive impact to the worker as well as the office's indoor environment. Hence, this paper aims to explore the basic passive side-day lighting considerations that educate people especially for those who are involved in the building construction industry. Beside, this paper focuses on the passive design considerations due to the various advantages that not involved especially with complex electrical and mechanical system. A systematic literature review is the main methodology for this paper to identify the basic passive side-day lighting considerations for a high rise office building design. Base on this research, it revealed that eight elements for building design considerations should be applied to provide a better day lighting impact for a high rise office building design. Considerations for non-building design aspects should also need to be applied since those aspects contribute to produce a better day lighting impact for a high rise office building design.

Abstract:  In  order  to continually meet the growing material and cultural needs of the people, leads to increasing scale in construction, to a certain extent, has accelerated the pace of urban construction in China, but also exposed many shortcomings. For example, the energy consumption of the construction industry is too large, it is pernicious to the sustainable development of modern society in China, and the substance of green building is use of energy-saving harmless resources to build a comfortable and healthy living environment,to ensure the quality of living environment and reduce the threat to health of human. With the strength of economic benefits, energy conservation and other advantages, making a major contributions to the economic environment. Therefore, this research will study from the relevant requirements of green building design,in-depth discussion of green building design techniques as a reference for the industry practitioners.

Decreasing the demand for natural aggregates is doubly justified by the significant contribution of the construction industry to the unsustainable development path of the natural environment, and the projected global increase of the consumption of construction aggregates. Extensive research has been carried out on the physical and mechanical properties of concrete which incorporates plastic as aggregates; yet, no single study has been able to draw on structured research which demonstrates the improved sustainability performance of plastic-based aggregates to support sustainable development in the construction industry for a project seeking Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification. The goal of this research is to explore the potential benefits that green processed lightweight aggregates (PLA) can provide to a project seeking LEED certification in accordance with the requirements of LEED v4 for Building Design and Construction. The objectives are to: (1) determine which LEED credit requirements can be met through using the studied material; (2) provide a comprehensive analysis of the applicable attainable LEED credits, given the existing technical information of the selected material, and (3) provide guidelines to maximize further credit attainment. To this end, the findings indicated that the use of PLA as a total replacement for coarse aggregates in lightweight concrete applications would contribute to earning directly up to 8 points (out of 110 total points) towards LEED certification. Such significant number allows for the potential increase of the project’s certification by one level. This is the first study of its kind to investigate the improved sustainability performance of recycled plastic aggregates from a LEED point of view. Moreover, the guidelines provided by the research will enable developers to maximize the financial and environmental benefits of their buildings through the reduced lifecycle cost and the enhanced LEED score. This research should encourage project teams to incorporate the knowledge of sustainable practices, and play an active role in sustainable development.

Now people life is becoming better and better, the demand for life also gradually increases. Based on the current situation of China's rising economic strength and large population base, the demand for construction has been expanded. Therefore, the construction industry has brought a lot of pollution and energy consumption. The solution to this problem is to insist on sustainable development, namely green building design. To carry on green design and better safeguard the purpose of the green design and humanized service, based on the powerful weapon Internet, we bring China's powerful weapon for China developed Internet, which is big data.

Keeping in mind that the fundamental task of local and regional governments is improving lives of their citizens, this paper considers the phenomenon of smart specialization as a tool that can be used to reach economic development and inclusion. Particular attention is paid to the impacts of smart cities on regional life through establishing smart city networks and mutual cooperation of various stakeholders. The issues associated with smart specialization are determined. At the same time, it is attempted to suggest the possible steps that could be taken by local and regional authorities to foster smartification. The multidimensional methodology approach is used for this study to increase its comprehensiveness and wider applicability of the concluding recommendations. The research is directly linked to the UN Sustainable Development Goals that are actively promoted by the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe, so it is related to high practical and theoretical value.

With the continuous advancement of urbanization, the problem of urban domestic wastewater has become increasingly serious. Furthermore, information and communication technologies (ICTs) have flourished, providing smart ideas for the governance of urban problems, including smart urban domestic wastewater (SUDW), to improve efficiency and deliver smart cities. The framework of smart governance is vital for urban planning and development, but existing frameworks lack systematic characteristics. Therefore, this study aimed to systematically analyze the functions that SUDW can achieve from a sustainability perspective and to construct a framework of SUDW. This paper articulated the objectives of SUDW from the perspectives of service providers (mainly wastewater treatment plants, WWTPs), government, and public based on the goals of smart cities and sustainable development. Moreover, seven functions of SUDW were identified based on systematic literature analysis, such as the automation of WWTPs and operation and maintenance of sewer assets. Then, the information needed for the above functions was analyzed to clarify communication between the main stakeholders and functions, which were illustrated by an information chain model. The functions are interrelated and closely related to sustainable development, where information sharing is the foundation and key component. Based on the above analyses, a data-driven framework of SUDW consisting of five layers was proposed. The paper indicated that the core of SUDW is the perception, transmission, storage, analysis, and application of relevant data. The study not only contributes to the body of knowledge relating to smart cities but can also guide the planning of cities to realize SUDW, smart cities, and sustainable development.

It's been an era of ever-emerging globalization, and the integration of world economies has been the new norm that has caused immense expansion and rapid urbanization. The phenomenon has many flaws tangled. Governments globally use IoT-enabled solutions to build smart cities for better efficiency and management of cities to encounter the constraints. Smart cities enabled IoT applications to provide comprehensive ranging solutions on a real-time basis. The researcher's objective is to comprehensively review how smart cities helped with IoT applications encounter challenges to practical real-time problems faced in cities. Smart cities enabled with IoT solutions are predominantly composed of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT). A protocol can be developed for sustainable development to address the facets of issues faced in cities due to pressure brought about by excessive and rapid urbanization caused by push factors.
