With the continuous advancement of science and technology and the rapid development of robotics, it has become an inevitable trend for domestic robots to enter thousands of households. In order to solve the inconvenience problem of the elderly and people with special needs, because the elderly and other people in need may need the help of domestic robots due to inconvenient legs and feet, the research of the robot target position based on monocular stereo vision and the understanding of the robot NAO are very important. Research and experiments are carried out on the target recognition and positioning in the process of NAO robot grasping. This paper proposes a recognition algorithm corresponding to quantitative component statistical information. First, extract the area of interest that contains the purpose from the image. After that, to eliminate interference in various fields and achieve target recognition, the robot cameras have almost no common field of view and can only use one camera at the same time. Therefore, this article uses the monocular vision principle to locate the target, and the detection algorithm is based on the structure of the robot head material, establishes the relationship between the height change of the machine head and the tilt angle, and improves the monocular vision NAO robot detection algorithm. According to experiments, the accuracy of the robot at close range can be controlled below 1 cm. This article completes the robot’s grasping and transmission of the target. About 80% of the external information that humans can perceive comes from vision. In addition, there are advantages such as high efficiency and good stability.

Device-free passive intrusion detection is a promising technology to determine whether moving subjects are present without deploying any specific sensors or devices in the area of interest. With the rapid development of wireless technology, multi-input multi-output (MIMO) and orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) which were originally exploited to improve the stability and bandwidth of Wi-Fi communication, can now support extensive applications such as indoor intrusion detection, patient monitoring, and healthcare monitoring for the elderly. At present, most research works use channel state information (CSI) in the IEEE 802.11n standard to analyze signals and select features. However, there are very limited studies on intrusion detection in real home environments that consider scenarios that include different motion speeds, different numbers of intruders, varying locations of devices, and whether people are present sleeping at home. In this paper, we propose an adaptive real-time indoor intrusion detection system using subcarrier correlation-based features based on the characteristics of narrow frequency spacing of adjacent subcarriers. We propose a link-pair selection algorithm for choosing an optimal link pair as a baseline for subsequent CSI processing. We prototype our system on commercial Wi-Fi devices and compare the overall performance with those of state-of-the-art approaches. The experimental results demonstrate that our system achieves impressive performance regardless of intruder’s motion speeds, number of intruders, non-line-of-sight conditions, and sleeping occupant conditions.

Abstract Background Adult onset Still’s disease (AOSD) is a rare inflammatory disorder that classically presents with high spiking fevers, evanescent rash, and arthritis. The diagnosis is one of exclusion and can be further complicated by atypical presentations, particularly in elderly patients in whom AOSD is very rare. Case presentation A case of AOSD in a 73-year-old woman with a non-classic presentation, leading to delayed diagnosis and management, is presented along with a review of the English literature for AOSD cases in elderly people over 70 years of age. Thirty nine case reports and series were identified and the current case was added, totaling 42 individual cases. Significant findings included a four-times higher prevalence in females, a higher prevalence of macrophage activation syndrome despite lower mortality, the presence of pruritic rash in almost one fifth of the cases, and high prevalence of delayed diagnosis. Conclusions AOSD in the elderly may vary from the classic criteria described in the medical literature and may lead to delayed diagnosis and management. Further evaluation and better characterization of AOSD in the elderly remains an area of interest.

Introduction. The author aims to analyze the phenomenon of information interference with national political processes in the conditions of the contemporary information society and the evolution of the Internet as a space of political communications. The article shows that the digital information intervention is relevant and at the same time, a complex multidimensional phenomenon of contemporary politics. In many respects, the potential of the digital interference phenomenon is closely related to the essential features of functioning and the transformation of the contemporary Internet, which has been actively used when changing political regimes in many countries. The problem of information security and sovereignty of the present state on the Internet is becoming one of the most urgent in the conditions of the rapid development of information and communication technologies. Methods and materials. The issues identified in the article are investigated using the methods of comparative, structural-functional and normative analysis, included observation, as well as the case-study method. The method of scientific forecasting and scripting techniques has allowed to form a scenario for the effective settlement of international conflicts in the field of information security. The empirical base of the study is reports of foreign experts, official materials of state authorities of the Russian Federation and foreign countries, reports of Freedom House international organization, official speeches and statements by the heads of state on the issues outlined in the work. Analysis. Countering external information expansion is becoming one of the most critical tasks of effective political governance at the state level to preserve the sovereignty of the national political communication space, including domestic segments of the Internet. The initiatives of states to form the sovereign national segments of the Internet space are, on the one hand, an attempt to protect their political systems from external influence and invasion, to ensure their own political stability, and on the other hand, they create risks for the democratic potential of the Internet. The article substantiates the thesis that the phenomenon of interference in elections in actual practice often becomes not so much an objective process as an instrument of information warfare, mass political propaganda and discrediting political opponents, a manipulative tool that can be actively used not only by authoritarian regimes with a low level of democratic development. Results. The study shows that differences in understanding and defining the essence of the Internet by various countries give rise to a significant potential for political conflicts on a global scale. This circumstance leads the author to the conclusion that it is necessary to form international institutions capable of preventing and regulating information conflicts in the Internet space, as well as reducing global political risks (including risks associated with potential interference in the electoral process of sovereign states). The implementation of this scenario will allow forming a collective responsibility in the functioning of the global Internet.

For the problem of tramcar collision accident in coal mine underground, a monocular vision-based tramcar anti-collision warning system based on ARM and FPGA was designed and implemented. In this paper, we present an improved fast lane detection algorithm based on Hough transform. Besides, a new distance measurement and early-warning system based on the invariance of the lane width is proposed. System construction, hardware architecture and software design are given in detail. The experiment results show that the precision and speed of the system can satisfy the application requirement.

Abstract With the rapid increase in the number of people living in the elderly population, reducing and dealing with the problem of falls in the elderly has become the focus of research for decades. It is impossible to completely eliminate falls in daily life and activities. Detecting a fall in time can protect the elderly from injury as much as possible. This article uses the Turtlebot robot and the ROS robot operating system, combined with simultaneous positioning and map construction technology, Monte Carlo positioning, A* path planning, dynamic window method, and indoor map navigation. The YOLO network is trained using the stance and fall data sets, and the YOLOv4 target detection algorithm is combined with the robot perception algorithm to finally achieve fall detection on the turtlebot robot, and use the average precision, precision, recall and other indicators to measure.

With the rapid development of “we media” technology, external information about the same sudden hot social event is often involved repetitiously, leading to frequent public opinion reversal. However, the phenomenon of public opinion reversal process usually has a long-lasting duration and spreads wide, making the event itself attract the widespread attention of ordinary people. Focusing on the public opinion reversal process of sudden social hot topic (a popular and widely discussed issue), this paper firstly identifies the internal and external factors that affect the reversal, namely individual internal characteristics and external intervention information. Secondly, information intensity and the amount of information perceived by individuals are introduced to describe the impact of external intervention information on the public opinion reversal. Thirdly, the parameters of individual attention and conservation are used to describe the process of individual’s selection of external information, so as to reveal the influence of the internal characteristics on public opinion reversal, and then build a public opinion reversal model. Fourthly, the effects of information intensity and individual attention, as well as individual conservation on the process of public opinion reversal are analyzed by simulation experiment. Simulation results show that: (1) the intensity of external intervention information affects the direction and degree of public opinion reversal; (2) when individual conservation is strong or individual attention is weak, even if external intervention information is strong, there will still be no obvious reversal of public opinion. Subsequently, the rationality and effectiveness of the proposed model are verified by a real case. Finally, some recommendations and policy implications are also given.

Underwater acoustics has been implemented mostly in the field of sound navigation and ranging (SONAR) procedures for submarine communication, the examination of maritime assets and environment surveying, target and object recognition, and measurement and study of acoustic sources in the underwater atmosphere. With the rapid development in science and technology, the advancement in sonar systems has increased, resulting in a decrement in underwater casualties. The sonar signal processing and automatic target recognition using sonar signals or imagery is itself a challenging process. Meanwhile, highly advanced data-driven machine-learning and deep learning-based methods are being implemented for acquiring several types of information from underwater sound data. This paper reviews the recent sonar automatic target recognition, tracking, or detection works using deep learning algorithms. A thorough study of the available works is done, and the operating procedure, results, and other necessary details regarding the data acquisition process, the dataset used, and the information regarding hyper-parameters is presented in this article. This paper will be of great assistance for upcoming scholars to start their work on sonar automatic target recognition.

Streptococcus pneumoniae (pneumococcus) is a respiratory commensal pathogen that causes a range of infections, particularly in young children and the elderly. Pneumococci undergo spontaneous phase variation in colony opacity phenotype, in which DNA rearrangements within the Type I restriction-modification (R-M) system specificity gene hsdS can potentially generate up to six different hsdS alleles with differential DNA methylation activity, resulting in changes in gene expression. To gain a broader perspective of this system, we performed bioinformatic analyses of Type I R-M loci from 18 published pneumococcal genomes, and one R-M locus sequenced for this study, to compare genetic content, organization, and homology. All 19 loci encoded the genes hsdR, hsdM, hsdS, and at least one hsdS pseudogene, but differed in gene order, gene orientation, and hsdS target recognition domain (TRD) content. We determined the coding sequences of 87 hsdS TRDs and excluded seven from further analysis due to the presence of premature stop codons. Comparative analyses revealed that the TRD 1.1, 1.2, and 2.1 protein sequences had single amino acid substitutions, and TRD 2.2 and 2.3 each had seven differences. The results of this study indicate that variability exists among the gene content and arrangements within Type I R-M loci may provide an additional level of divergence between pneumococcal strains, such that phase variation-mediated control of virulence factors may vary significantly between individual strains. These findings are consistent with presently available transcript profile data.
