Abstract Background Job satisfaction describes an employee’s motivation and/or feeling of satisfaction towards his/her work. Globally, healthcare professionals’ turnover and retention play a critical role in the delivery of essential health services. In Ghana, however, little has been done to ascertain job satisfaction levels among human resources for eye-health. The objective of this study therefore was to assess job satisfaction and its associated factors among optometrists in Ghana. Methods A cross-sectional survey was conducted among 304 registered and licensed optometrists of the Ghana Optometric Association between September 2018 and June 2019. A validated, well-structured questionnaire was used to elicit information on socio-demographic characteristics of participants and measures on job satisfaction. Scores from a five-point Likert scale was employed to examine job satisfaction and its associated factors. Linear regression analyses were used to evaluate the association between overall job satisfaction and its associated factors using Rasch logit scores. Results A total of 214 optometrists gave valid responses to the questionnaires used for the final analysis. The mean (± SD) score of the overall perception of job satisfaction among optometrists was 3.36 (± 1.00), with 74.3% of them being satisfied with their jobs. After statistical adjustment, Good work-life balance (Unstandardized co-efficient (β) = 0.288, p = 0.001), Salary (β = 0.222, p < 0.0005), Supervision (β = 0.117, p = 0.044), and Continuing Education Opportunities (β = 0.138, p = 0.017) were all significantly associated with higher levels of overall job satisfaction. Conclusions Most optometrists were satisfied with their jobs. Effective strategic planning and management of human resources for eye-health in Ghana are essential in the development of quality eye-health systems and the provision of high-quality eyecare services.

Affective commitment is a commitment that comes from within and it needs quite some time to develop. Organizations need to ensure that their employees have strong affective commitment. Transformational leadership style can help employees to feel valued and develop strong commitment. On the other hand the positive atmosphere inside the organization will also enrich the positive experience of employees which in the end will increase the affective commitment. This study analyses the effect of transformational leadership and job satisfaction on employee’s affective commitment. We study one of the state companies in Medan using 72 participants. The explanatory method and path analysis are used to explain relationships and influences between variables. The results of the study prove that transformational leadership style and job satisfaction simultaneous and partial have effects in improving the quality of employee affective commitment. Business organizations need to apply transformational leadership styles and develop human resources program that can enhance job satisfaction. By carefully focus on these two elements, the organization is expected to be able to increase employee affective commitment. Organisasi perlu memastikan bahwa karyawan mereka memiliki komitmen afektif yang kuat. Unsur kepemimpinan khususnya yang bersifat transformasional diyakini dapat membuat karyawan merasa dihargai dan pada akhirnya memiliki komitmen yang kuat. Di samping itu, suasana dalam organisasi yang menyenangkan akan memperkaya pengalaman positif karyawan yang juga berdampak pada peningkatan komitmen afektif. Penelitian ini menganalisis pengaruh kepemimpinan transformasional dan kepuasan kerja terhadap terbentuknya komitmen afektif karyawan di salah satu perusahaan negara di Medan. 72 Responden yang berpartisipasi dalam penelitian ini. Metode eksplanatori dan analisis jalur digunakan untuk menjelaskan hubungan dan pengaruh antar variabel. Hasil penelitian membuktikan bahwa gaya kepemimpinan transformasional dan kepuasan kerja memiliki pengaruh simultan dan parsial terhadap peningkatan kualitas komitmen afektif karyawan. Organisasi bisnis perlu mengaplikasikan gaya kepemimpinan transformasional serta mengembangkan program sumberdaya manusia yang bisa meningkatkan kepuasan kerja karyawan. Dengan mengoptimalkan kedua unsur ini, organisasi diharapkan mampu meningkatkan komitmen afektif karyawan. Kata kunci—Kepemimpinan Transformasional, Kepuasan Kerja, Komitmen Afektif

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of group investigation by sigil and The objective of the research is to obtain information about the effect of group cohesiveness and job satisfaction on productivity of the employee on Human Resource Development Agency of Ministry of Home Affairs. The research was conducted to all of employees on on Human Resource Development Agency of Ministry of Home Affairs by using a survey method with path analysis applied in testing hypothesis. The number 133 employees as sample was selected by using Slovin formula. The research conclude: (1) there is direct effect of group cohesiveness on productivity. (2) there is direct effect of job satisfaction on productivity. (3) there is direct effect of group cohesiveness on job satisfaction. Therefore, to enhance employees’ productivity can be carried out by group cohesiveness, and job satisfaction.

Abstract Human Resources (HR) is the main and strategic factor for the achievement of the development of a nationStrong and highly competitive human resources in various aspects will support increased development, both in the economic, health and social and cultural fields. The performance of an organization will be determined by one of the main elements, namely the quality of human resources. Factors that can be used to improve employee performance, including job satisfaction and work motivation. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between jobs satisfaction and workforce motivation in the health sector in hospitals in Indonesia.The research method is a non-intervention study with a cross-sectional design, conducted by the National Institute of Health Research and Development, Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia  through National Health Workforce Research (Risnakes)2017.The study sample was health workers working in 2,325 hospitals, namely General Hospitals (RSU) in the Government, Private Hospital, Military/Police General Hospital, Government Specific Hospital, Private Specific Hospital and Military/Police Specific Hospital. Determination of selected hospitals in each province is done by simple random sampling.  Data collection on job satisfaction and work motivation was obtained through filling out the 2014 happiness measurement survey questionnaires from the Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS)  by 30 health workers in selected hospitals . The variables studied were the characteristics of respondents (age, sex, education, employment status, length of work, health insurance), hospital characteristics (hospital status, hospital accreditation status, and type of hospital), job satisfaction and work motivation. Data were analyzed by univariate, bivariate, and logistic regression models.The results showed that respondents who worked for 10 years and below had a  t significant relationship with work motivation compared to those who worked more than 10 years, with a value of p <0.05 (p = 0.0001). There is a significant relationship between jobs satisfaction and work motivation on respondents, with a value of p <0.005 (p = 0.0001). The conclusion, that the job satisfaction of health workers is significantly related to work motivation.   Abstrak Sumber daya manusia (SDM) merupakan faktor utama dan strategis bagi tercapainya keberhasilan pembangunan suatu bangsa. SDM yang kuat dan berdaya saing tinggi dalam berbagai aspek akan mendukung peningkatan pembangunan, baik di bidang ekonomi, kesehatan maupun di bidang sosial dan budaya. Kinerja suatu organisasi akan ditentukan oleh salah satu unsur utama yaitu kualitas sumber daya manusia. Faktor-faktor yang dapat digunakan untuk meningkatkan kinerja pegawai, diantaranya kepuasan kerja dan motivasi kerja. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui  adanya  hubungan antara kepuasan kerja dan motivasi kerja tenaga kerja di bidang kesehatan di rumah sakit di Indonesia. Metode penelitian merupakan penelitian non intervensi dengan desain cross sectional, yang dilaksanakan oleh Badan Litbang Kesehatan, Kementerian Kesehatan RI melalui Riset Ketenagaan di Bidang Kesehatan (Risnakes) 2017. Sampel penelitian adalah tenaga kesehatan yang bekerja di  2.325 rumah sakit (RS) yaitu di Rumah Sakit Umum (RSU) Pemerintah, RSU Swasta, RSU TNI/Polri, RS Khusus Pemerintah, RS Khusus Swasta, dan RS Khusus TNI/Polri. Penetapan rumah sakit terpilih di setiap provinsi dilakukan secara acak sederhana (simple random sampling). Pengumpulan data diperoleh melalui pengisian kuesioner survei pengukuran tingkat kebahagiaan 2014 dari Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS) oleh 30 orang tenaga kesehatan di RS terpilih. Variabel yang diteliti adalah karakteristik responden (umur, jenis kelamin, pendidikan, status kepegawaian, lama bekerja, jaminan kesehatan), karakteristik rumah sakit (status RS, status akreditasi RS, dan jenis RS), kepuasan kerja dan motivasi kerja. Data dianalisis secara univariat, bivariat, dan model regresi logistik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa responden yang bekerja selama 10 tahun ke bawah ada hubungan yang signifikan dengan motivasi kerja dibandingkan yang bekerja lebih dari 10 tahun, dengan nilai p<0,05 (p= 0,0001). Adanya hubungan yang signifikan antara kepuasan kerja dengan motivasi kerja pada responden, dengan nilai p< 0,005 (p=0,0001). Kesimpulan, bahwa kepuasan kerja dari tenaga kesehatan berhubungan secara signifikan dengan motivasi kerja.

More practical data processing through the application of SIA with application programs, but the level of knowledge of human resources in the field of information technology is still limited. In general, the problems of the LPD in Tegallalang District are caused by a lack of quality human resources. The research objective was to determine the effect of employee competency, work motivation, and job satisfaction on the performance of accounting information systems in the LPD of Tegallalang District. The study population included LPD in Tegallalang District, which numbered 43 LPD. The sampling technique used in this study is a saturated sample technique. The hypothesis was tested using multiple linear regression analysis. The results showed that the influence of employee competency, work motivation, and job satisfaction had a positive and significant effect on the performance of accounting information systems. Purpose This paper aims to recognize whether occupational pension scheme (OPS) is offered in a varied set of measures intended to design a coherent human resources management of people. Second, the authors will study the relationship of these OPS with job satisfaction and job change. The interest of this ultimate goal lies in the relationship between job satisfaction and employee motivation, commitment and loyalty. Design/methodology/approach Statistical methodology is carried out from three approaches. First, a descriptive analysis to define what type of companies are offering these OPS and what positions are occupying the OPS beneficiaries. Second, an exploratory analysis is conducted to establish associations between variables. The authors use the X2 tests with contingency tables and ANOVA of one and two factors. In all cases, the requirement of homoscedasticities is checked through Levene test. Third, the authors conduct a joint analysis between the studied variables. Multiple correspondence analysis is used to analyze the association between certain characteristics of the firm and the fact to offer OPS and other social benefits. Finally, to assess the potential impact of OPS on the decision to change the job, the authors conduct a binary logistic regression analysis, in which the authors used control variables of certain characteristics of the individual and the company. Findings Companies who develop the most innovative human resources management policies offering more training, more social benefits and incentives, are also most likely to implement OPS. The OPS beneficiaries have higher levels of satisfaction and are less likely to change the job, regardless of the position held and salary. Originality/value To the extent that the future is perceived as more uncertain, the savings will be more oriented toward prevision. OPS can be a saving instrument with broad appeal for business and workers. And of course, it can be a tool of differentiation in the recruitment policy, which attract workers to the company over other competitors which do not offer this kind of benefits.

Expansion of PT. Petrokimia Gresik, which is getting bigger, requires large human resources as well. On the other hand, there is no permit for additional permanent manpower, while most of the human resources in the Procurement Compartment of PT. Peterokimia Gresik has entered its retirement period and there is no technology transfer for the migration of software used in the company, namely SAP software, so employee performance is ineffective. This study aims to analyze the effect of work effectiveness on employee satisfaction and performance, job satisfaction on employee performance. The research method used is quantitative research, with a population and sample of employees who are part of the Service Procurement Department and the Goods Procurement Department at PT. Petrokimia Gresik with a number of 50 respondents. All incoming and appropriate data will be analyzed by smartPLS. The results showed that work effectiveness has a significant positive effect on employee performance, job effectiveness has a significant positive effect on employee job satisfaction, job satisfaction has a positive but insignificant effect on employee performance and job satisfaction mediates the effect of work effectiveness on employee performance.
