In recent years, the role of the leader in the effective operation of the school has been vastly debated in the international educational community. Through a historical study of educational leadership, this research discovered that the position of the leader is constantly being reshaped and adapted to the current social, cultural, and economic circumstances. During the last year, due to the coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic, the educational leadership has had to be reshaped worldwide. The aim of this study is to investigate the issues that have arisen from the aforementioned situation, as well as to try to figure out how a school’s principal might apply the basic principles of educational leadership, in a period of crisis. This investigation was focused on the use of the qualitative method. The study included 88 teachers and 5 principals from Cyprus, as well as teachers and parents. Based on the findings of the study, we discovered that the challenges faced by school principals and teachers are primarily linked to alienation, marginalization, time management, improving bureaucracy, problems with technical equipment and distance learning programs. Solution to these obstacles seemed to be the: Empathy, teamwork, and decentralization of the educational system, which are all promoted by the principal, who occasionally has additional authority.

The article identifies the key conceptual foundations for the formation of intellectual leadership of economic entities, including countries as specific actors in the global economy. Thorough preconditions for increasing the level of economic development and the impact of education have been identified. It is determined that historical concepts and modern realities of economic activity only actualize the role of education and enlightenment in the economic development of the national economy and ensuring its competitiveness. The strategies of increasing the competitiveness of individual countries of the world are analyzed, their key priorities in the conditions of formation of the knowledge economy are determined. The evolution of views on the role of human and intellectual capital in increasing the welfare of countries, the impact on GDP and other macroeconomic indicators is described. The ratings of countries are analyzed, in particular by the level of investment in intellectual capital and the structure of their GDP, which confirms the dominance of science-intensive economic activities. In addition, it was determined that the leading countries are characterized by increasing the role of knowledge-intensive activities, increasing the share of intangible assets, redistribution of capital of leading international companies and increasing research spending, increasing investment in human and intellectual capital, increasing exports of high-tech products. Analytical assessment confirms the advanced development of science-intensive industries in countries with developed economies, which creates the need for training and retraining of specialists needed for such industries. In modern conditions, the educational process ceases to be predominantly the prerogative of young people, and becomes a lifelong process, which increases spending on education in developed countries, but without denying the significant asymmetries on this indicator. Research confirms the direct relationship between the quality of human and physical capital and economic development, which is typical of highly developed countries, one of the main reasons for the development lag of the poorest countries. In addition, the article substantiates the key factors of intellectual leadership and their impact on the development of economic development strategies.

The article highlights according to the concept of social capital, the changes generated by the COVID-19 pandemic in the educational system. This research identified the attributes of social capital at the level of the adults involved in the educational process (parents, students), the impact of the current period on them and the opinion of the respondents regarding the education reform. The conclusions of the study prove an activation of the intentions of involvement and participation in the management structures and in the educational projects at the level of the school organization, along with a low degree of confidence in the way the reform of the educational system is designed and implemented. Change management in recent years has highlighted the need for school involvement in the development of social capital and also the need to increase the role of social stakeholders in solving the challenges facing school organizations.

Pre-school age is an intensive period in the life of a person which offers great potential for development. The dimensions of the impact of the social environment (children, parents and other adults) on the child’s personality are multifaceted. This accounts for the emphasis on social norms, goals and ideals. Education is the one factor that can best provide the socialization of adolescents.The changes in modern society have led to redefining the parenting patterns for bringing up children. The role of the family as an environment for transferring social experience has never lost its significance. Children need continuous care in order to handle societal failures; they need support for mastering the culture of behavior, as well as timely and appropriate help for ensuring conflict-free communication and for enabling them to take responsibility for their own choices and actions.Psychological studies show that various factors influence both the upbringing of children as well as the parents’ attitudes towardsthem. The relevant factors include: the childhood experiences of the parents; the unrealized needs of the parents; interpersonal relations in the family that are characterized by emotional depth and style that are considered to have established "a standard".The parameters of the actuality of the research problem are based on the interrelationship of the social and educational aspects that are related to the position of the child and his personal assertion in society:- Atpre-schoolage, thechildgraduallyfitsintothesocialsystem, whichistheresult of learningexperiences, actionsandrelationships, awarenessandrediscovery of theselfandtheworld of otherpeople.- Thechildbecomesaware of thenorms of behaviorandthemeaning of actions–their ownandother people’s - andlearns to takeresponsibilityfortheiractions.- Oneyearbeforeschool starts, the childdevelopstheability to accepttheposition of othersand to takeintoaccounttheirownandothers’perspective.- For a successfulpersonalrealization, itisimportantforchildren to havetheskills to worktogetherandcommunicatein a group. The foundations for thisare laid during the pre-school age and are considered the most stable and lasting, often referred to as the "basic personality structure". Along with them, the "behavioral potential" of the child, which is demonstrated at different ages, is shaped and developedthrough upbringing. Consequently, behavior is seen as a specific manifestation of the personality associated with its selective attitude towards the influence of various factors in the social environment. The direction of the educational activitiesinspires the motivation for personal behavior aiming at growth and self-actualization. Hence, the presence of a certain skill level which imposes a new approach to learning - replacing the mechanical reproduction with the acquisition of competences for and attitudes towards interaction in a changing environment. What is appropriate for achieving these goals is the applicationof functional models for cooperation, individualization and differentiation of the educational process. These ensure that the child is provided with conditions for activity and for mastering basic, sustainable rules for conscious participation and development that are important for the success of each of his activities. This is a type of social education that is achieved through exploring the social fabric andacquiring the skills for learning, choosing and communicating.

Trust is the keystone to creating enduring relationships and interconnectedness among people. Trust also plays a pivotal role in human social and organizational interactions. Trust is needed for any organization to create good networks. It is an impetus for cressating relationships with employees, as well as for building healthy societies. To be trusted in an organization, a leader such as a school principal must possess integrity, truthfulness, and transparency. Therefore, when defining trust, the role of trust in schools and what a school principal must do to be trusted by teachers should be explored. It is worth knowing what a trusting principal does or means to a school and the impact on a school, teaching, and learning.

The article examines the impact of the digitalization process on the creation and use of modern electronic tools and technologies for teaching a foreign language in higher education. The article presents the main electronic tools and technologies that are used in the Financial University during the educational process of teaching a foreign language. The author notes the effectiveness of the implementation of the personality-oriented approach, which is provided by individualization and differentiation of training using the Bank of test tasks created by university teachers, and the electronic educational platform Rosetta Stone Advanced. The use of electronic learning tools and digital technologies allows to develop self-organization of the student. Changing the role of the teacher to the role of the manager of educational activities contributes to the formation of the ability to constant self-studying the student throughout his professional and social life. The effectiveness of the electronic learning tools use is proved by the high level of students’ foreign language competence and their assessment of the foreign language teachers’ pedagogical activity with the results of the survey "Students’ view on teachers".

This study aimed at overcoming the obstacles of implementing educational leadership standards in the distance learning program in light of Corona pandemic from the school principals’ point of view in the Directorate of Education of the Northern Mazar District / Jordan. To achieve the aims of the study, the researcher purposefully selected the research sample (44 principals) in the Directorate of Education of the Northern Mazar. The descriptive-analytical approach was used. The study emphasized the importance of implementing the educational leadership standards by school principals in the Directorate of Education of the Northern Mazar. Moreover, the study revealed that there were no statistically significant differences at (α ≤ 5.0) between the responses of the study sample in the practice of school principals to the following educational leadership standards: leading the development of the school, the directorate development program, the community school. In addition, the study concluded that the leadership in the educational system is based on standards in the Directorate of Education of the Northern Mazar in the distance learning program according to the Gender variable. The study recommended that the standards of educational leadership should be implemented in distance learning programs, as an advanced technological system, to meet the challenges of the educational process. The study aim to examine the impact of educational leadership on human resources development of Jordanian university. The study is an analysis descriptive research and the methods will be use survey in order to collect information needed for get the results. The population of the study includes all Jordanian universities. The sample of the study will includes (200) professors working in governmental universities located in Amman city. The study results indicated that there are positive attitudes towards educational leadership, the study also indicated that there are positive attitudes towards variables: communication, learning, influence, confidence, and knowledge. The study results accept main hypotheses that states: There is a statistically significant impact of educational leadership on human resources development of Jordanian university. The study results also accept the first three sub hypothesis which related to the impact of (communication, learning, and influence) on human resources development of Jordanian university, but the study results reject the sub hypothesis which related to the impact of (confidence, and knowledge). The study recommended to identify best practices in leadership styles, for positive change at the university, and how to increase the absorption of the change points when their employees, and to support and provide all the resources that help educational leadership in order to achieve: communication, learning, influence, confidence, and knowledge.

AbstractAimThe aim of the present study was to determine the impact of food advertising in primary and secondary schools on the food purchasing habits of children.MethodsAll forty-four primary and secondary schools in Rzeszow, Poland were included in the investigation; 15 000 children attend primary and secondary schools in the region. Schools were visited by members of the research team, who filled in a questionnaire regarding the type of food products displayed or advertised in the school shop window and recorded the presence of direct corporate advertising in the proximity of the school shop. Shop owners were asked to fill in a form describing food purchases by students within the week preceding the visit. The school principal (or one of teachers) completed a form describing the school’s policy regarding food advertising and the sponsorship of school activities by food companies.ResultsRecommended foods like milk, yoghurts and fruit were offered by only 40·9 % of shops. There was a correlation between foods offered in the shop and foods purchased by students. In schools, 40·9 % (95 % CI 25·8, 56·0 %) of shop windows displayed or advertised ‘healthy’ foods while 9·1 % (95 % CI 0·0, 17·9 %) of shops displayed advertisements of food companies. The difference between display of ‘healthy’ food in shop windows and display of food on company advertisements was significant (likelihood ratio χ2 test, P < 0·04). Type of school (primary v. secondary) was not significant factor in advertising or purchasing pattern.ConclusionsEducational programmes should be introduced in schools with the aim of improving the understanding of nutritional principles among pupils, teachers and parents.

Assistive Learning Technologies (ALT) have gained increasing research attention for supporting physically-disadvantaged learners to realize their potential in the educational process. This paper reports on a multiple-case study that sought to explore the underlying mechanisms (i.e., the how and why issues) relating to the role of ALT in helping students with special needs to circumvent their disabilities and integrating them into the mainstream schools. It is found that the use of ALT enables the subjects to access the electronic learning environment, as well as improve their time management. The end result is that these students can perform their everyday (learning) tasks on par with their peers in school. The study has also unveiled moderating factors influencing the usage of ALT; examples are the ease of use of ALT, and the subjects’ desire to enhance their academic and social competency.

Sources such as imagery and video and audio material are increasing being adopted in an evidential, rather than an allusive role by historians seeking to exploit them alongside the ‘textual’ data traditionally used. The role of computers in enabling this development has been significant, in enabling greater access to such sources (via CD and online collections, for example) an in providing tools for the analysis of novel sources (such as KLEIO Image Analysis System). At the same time the impact of ‘postmodernity’ upon the study of history has led to a growth in interest in theoretical issues which challenge many of the assumptions upon which the discipline is based. This paper addresses those issues from the narrower perspective – that gained during a detailed historical study of political prints produced during the late 16th and early 17th centuries, which have been digitally modelled, and analysed using KLEIO IAS. It suggests that in adopting less traditional sources, the nature of those sources and methodological shifts they impose will render it imperative for historians to engage with theoretical issues raised by postmodernity.
