In analysing the issues of body and affect involved in the contemporary online culture including mukbang (eating shows), I propose the term ‘carnal videos’. Carnal videos are a constitutive part of the society of control in the digital environment. Through the operation of multisensorial significations in carnal videos, human networked affect is excessively expressed and experienced, along with its politico-ethical potentials of perseverance and differentiation. By exploiting and colonizing such potentials, however, human networked affect contributes to the platform companies’ ever growing capitalist drives towards the maximization of economic values. Several conflicting layers of transgression operate within mukbang. One layer involves transgression as an affective force of resistance and pleasure, the other layer involves transgression, or the control of transgression, in terms of accelerating and capturing human faculties as biolabour. These two contrasting aspects of transgression are characterized by the ambiguity, complexity, and dynamics embedded in the practice of carnal videos.

In coastal engineering we often have to face the problem of high stormfloods. Especially if the land near the coast is flat and low, if it is densely populated or if high economic values have to be protected. In all these oases, where life and economic values are at stake, a design flood has to be established as a basis for the construction of the works of protection. Obviously the height of the design flood will be dependent on two factors. On one hand it depends on the characteristics of the sea, on its probable and possible heights. On the other hand it depends on the values of human and economic nature, threatened by the sea. So the design flood may be regarded as a balance between the threatening force of the sea and the values at stake. In this paper we will investigate the nature of this balance. This will lead us to a close examination of the frequency curves of stormfloods, to a discussion of the question: What is a reasonable risk and to a discussion of the question: What is the space of time we have to take into account.

The newly described species, Ziziphus budhensis was confirmed as Chinese Jujuba, Z. xiangchengensis on the basis of their DNA analyses. Z. budhensis was explained as a new species on the basis of some morphological differences in 2015. In the Year 2016, the DNA samples were collected from the type locality of Nepal, and the molecular analyses were carried out. The type specimens and the other available images from the different herbariums were examined. Besides, the protologue and the type images were studied carefully. The result showed that though there were some differences in the habit and the habitat of the plant, the previously described new species, Z. budhensis was found to be same as the Chinese species, Z. xiangchengensis. This study also showed the importance of the molecular work of Z. budhensis and confirmed it morphologically distinct although it was very close to the Chinese species.Banko Janakari, Vol. 27, No. 1, page: 55-59

Abstract This study aimed to visualise the written versions of legends, which can transform the intangible culture as one of the significant parts of culture covering human facts and some habits like art, customs, traditions, into the tangible culture which is the other part of culture, through certain theme/s. Within this perspective, the study aimed to transform the women and discursive representation styles given in the Turkish Cypriot legends into visual representation in addition to creating an absolute language through the use of homogenous indicators. The study discussed the woman described with the ‘passive’, ‘oppressed’, ‘victim’ and ‘sinful’ features, in brief her marginalisation with the patriarchal legend structure through the use of semiotics. For the visualisation of legends, regardless the positive or negative consequence of woman, the ‘torn paper - collage with its popular name - texture was used to create a common language and the emotions to be reflected were symbolised with various colours. The content references of colours were taken into account; for instance, purple was used in the images that woman was downtrodden and blue in the images with the dominant male hegemony. Since the themes covered generally referred to the ‘mother nature’, the woman figures were illustrated as naked delivering the woman in her purest, simplest and most natural self without the social status indicators symbolised by the clothes. The main scene and woman figures, mountain and sea motifs in the selected legends were re-fictionalised in the digital environment and finalised with the illustration. As the effectiveness of pictorial elements in teaching and facilitating to remember the legends, as a cultural element within the main scope of this study is known, the legends were illustrated through the digital collage method. Therefore, the contribution was aimed to be reflected on the permanence and popularity of legends as a cultural product and verbal asset with the benefits of visual and artistic language.

Among the orders in which political discourse is expressed in France, the televised presidential interview of the 14th of July is unique. With a tradition stretching back four decades, these interviews take place in a context of great formality that is intended to give the presidential word institutional rank, albeit subject to the risks associated with an interview. On the one hand, the paradigm of the interview places the president in a functional position of dependence. On the other hand, the political interview has evolved in recent times towards an adversarial style (Clayman&Heritage, 2002) to which those of the 14th of July are not immune. This article focuses upon the presidential interview granted by Emmanuel Macron in 2020, broadcast for the first time on YouTube, to analyze with the tools of Discourse Analysis how it fights the speech acts that threaten the presidential status, now also exposed in the digital environment.

Today digital technologies are the most important force that transforms both social relations and the human. At its early development stages, digital environment was seen as an opportunity for a human to be in the new world that exists independently of the physical world. Nowadays, online and offline worlds intertwine and form a «hybrid» environment where human exists in both worlds simultaneously. The main challenge of the digital environment is the challenge to the human integrity, which is seen as a fundamental human trait that allows human to be an independent and responsible actor who can acknowledge and respect another human being. In the present digital environment, human is «distributed», i.e. represented «fragmentarily» in different communications, various digital files, «distributed» between the online and offline worlds. Interaction between people used to be based on face-to-face communication, which gave the possibility to perceive another human integrally. The development of telecommunications creates a distorted, fragmented perception of the Other, who is thus seen as a digital being that has no real essence and hence does not deserve respect. It is shown in the paper that unconditional respect for the other human being is one of the most important evolutionary acquisitions, ensuring the existence of human communities. For this value to be preserved, it is important today to develop an ability to see the Other as an integral person in the new situation of the «hybrid» world.

The article presents the results of studying the personal maturity of adolescents aged 13-17 (n=1078) who are infantilized in intergenerational relationships (on the model of relations with parents and teachers). Empirical data were collected with the use of the Self-Assessment Scale of Personal Maturity, as well as the modified Dembo-Rubinstein Self-Assessment Diagnostic Method, which measured the actual self-assessment of adolescents’ adulthood, as well as reflected assessments of their own adulthood from the parents’ and teachers’ positions. Infantilization in intergenerational relationships was assessed by comparing the self-assessment of adulthood and the reflected assessments of parents and teachers. The results show that the relationships between adolescents, on the one hand, and parents and teachers, on the other hand, are characterized by a tendency to infantilization. Obvious infantilization is found in about 10 % of cases. Infantilization in intergenerational relationships affects, first of all, the regulatory maturity of adolescents, and its influence differs depending on who is the subject of infantilization: in the case of infantilization by parents, the regulatory maturity of adolescents decreases as they grow up, while in the case of infantilization by teachers it increases. In general, infantilization in relations with parents has more intense negative impact on the formation of personal maturity in adolescence, in comparison with infantilization on the part of teachers.

We discuss the aspects and points of contact between knowledge organization and archival science, based on the texts published in the scope of the International Society of Knowledge Organization, especially concerning classification and description, building a theoretical-conceptual parallel about their points of contact. The aim is to systematize the relations between knowledge organization and archival science within the scope of classification and description. Bibliographic research in ISKO literature and archival literature was performed. Through systematization, it was possible to understand how the relationship between these fields is carried out and how it can be strengthened. The field of knowledge organization makes a pivotal contribution to the development of methodologies to access information. A series of developments in languages, structures and classifications, that is, knowledge organization systems (KOSs), is presented. On the other hand, archival science has been developing simultaneously, but in many moments seeking interlocutions, although superficial or even unintentional with the field of knowledge organization. The approximation of these fields is essential for the development of archival classification and description, aiming for the construction of ontologies, taxonomies and controlled vocabularies among others. These recent approximations must have occurred due to the changes that have happened in the last twenty years in relation to records management and the way people build knowledge and seek information. Also, it is possible to apply KOSs in the administrative digital environment for better archival representation instruments.

Historic community is actually a kind of cultural heritages. However, in Thailand, a phenomenon contradicting such idea is often found. Namely, tangible heritages, such as residences, buildings or architectural features are well preserved, while intangible heritages, such as social, economic and cultural structure and traditional way of life are widely changed as a result of rising economic opportunities. This phenomenon emerges after a community becomes a historic community which is a way to raise the economic values in locality. Consequently, the other values of the historic community are diminished or faded away. However, there are Thai communities which can preserve the original conditions and maintain their value as a historic community. Hence, this research aims to find the preservation approach and supporting factors in those communities. It is found that those communities raise awareness of local inhabitants and attract them to participate in the preservation in the direction which they want the community to be. As a result, this preservation becomes more sustainable.

The surveillance of immigrants from Turkey in Germany functions on two seemingly contradictory levels: on the one hand, it de facto recognizes their inclusion in German society; on the other hand, it serves as an instrument to exclude them as ‘(un)suitable’ foreign subjects within that society. Since 1961, this surveillance has slowly but surely changed its character. The aim of this article is to examine these changes through the lens of the different characteristics of so-called disciplinary and control societies. The article reconsiders the theoretical definitions of discipline and control in light of the German context to develop these as more precise historical categories. The fundamental point is that contact between German society and the social fact of migration and an immigrant population decisively inflected German disciplinary and control societies from the very beginning. This study argues that there has been a gradual shift on the part of the German state from a more limited focus to broader considerations of the issue of migration. This shift reveals more inclusionary measures; yet, dialectically, at the very same time it defines and captures an expanding space of exclusion.

The contents and subject scope of the peer-reviewed bibliographic database Library Information Systems and Innovations in Digital Environment, LIS), based in IRBIS64 software are characterized in brief. The proportion of source document types and bibliographic records is identified. Science and scientific and practical journals prove to be the major source for the bibliographic array, while the share of other source types is relatively small. The major sources of information, or the core journals within the LIS database subject scope are revealed. Based on the LIS databases contents, the parallel is drawn with Bradford scattering law which states that if journals in a field are sorted by number of articles into three groups, each with about one-third of all articles, then the number of publications in specialized journals will make the one-third, the other one third will be published in the related journals and the other will be distributed between in a vast number of science periodicals unpredictable for the said subject scope. The author establishes that the qualitative and typical composition of the LIS database bibliographic array is in full accord withBradford’s law.
