The object of this paper is to survey the rapidly broadening range of vehicle types to which power assisted steering is being fitted, to give descriptions of some of the various approaches to the problem of making such provision and to comment on particular features of systems using alternative installation layouts and/or different sources of power. Emphasis has been given to the problems of applying power assistance to the steering of the General Service or Public Service classes of vehicle, since it is felt that in these spheres the higher road performance attainable with the aid of such assistance may give rise to operating troubles with designs that previously have proved satisfactory over a long period of development and usage. Special purpose vehicles would normally be expected to go through a proving period, while the steering of private cars up to the limit of road adhesion is possible without power assistance. It is considered that it is in recent months rather than in recent years, a marked practical interest in steering assistance has developed in Great Britain, and although this ground has been largely covered previously in published articles and particularly in American literature, some recapitulation should prove of interest and, it is hoped, of value, to those who, until a comparatively short time ago, had not given very serious thought to the likelihood of a more general demand arising, but who are now attempting to judge the strength of the present trend. Brief remarks are made regarding the history and development of powered steering installations, but such observations that are made are not intended to present a full story. The MS. of this paper was received at the Institution on 23rd December 1953, and in its revised form, as accepted for publication on 5th January 1954. For the Report of the meeting at which this paper was presented, see p. 94.

Commercial buildings in the Bassura Mall area (Jalan Jenderal Basuki Rahmat) have resulted in congestion in the area. Vehicles use road bodies to park their vehicles, sidewalks that are used as trading places by street vendors, and the position of the entrance / exit of Bassura Mall for four-wheeled vehicles that is not strategic. These things have caused the author to choose a location in the Bassura Mall area (Jalan Jenderal Basuki Rahmat), East Jakarta which is a local route, where East Jakarta as one of the big cities in the Special Capital Region of Jakarta also experiences high vehicle growth, p. This can be seen on roads in East Jakarta which often experience congestion during rush hour. The purpose of this research is to determine the traffic performance in the area. The method used in this research is direct observation method at the research location and field data collection in the form of parking volume data, pedestrian volume, vehicle volume entering / exiting Mall Bassura, traffic volume, and road performance. Observations were made on weekdays and holidays. The results of the analysis of the performance of the road sections show that the traffic volume on the roads around Mall Bassura is 32,433 SMP / hour on weekdays and 22,577 SMP / hour on holidays, with the service level index being in the F category on weekdays and holidays. Thus, the congestion factors mentioned above have resulted in a decrease in road capacity which has an impact on road performance.

Television industrial organization is probably more complex than in other media industries. Reasons behind include that it is newer than others, it is highly regulated and because many changes have taken place in a short time period. In particular, public service television deserves an in-depth study. This is the starting point of this piece of research, which is applied to children as an audience of a growing complex and competitive market. In doing so, this study focuses on public service broadcasters of three European countries: the United Kingdom, Italy and Spain. A correlation analysis of these three cases will be made and the main hypothesis is that the content of all three channels and their audience profiles is quite similar. It will be implemented by Research Group on Digital Information and Communication (GICID, University of Zaragoza) and Research and Learning of Media and Communications Management (MediaCom, Complutense University of Madrid).

We examined 30-year trends in the financing of allopathic medical schools in the United States using data from the Annual Medical School Questionnaire administered to United States medical schools. We calculated relative proportions for total revenues derived from different sources. Federal support for teaching/training/public service represented 18.8% of total revenues in 1970-1971, but only 0.3% of total revenues in 1998-1999. The proportion of revenues derived from state/localgovernment appropriations also declined across this period. In contrast, the proportion of revenues derived from medical services increased substantially. The proportion of revenues derived from tuition/fees, gifts, and endowments remained constant.

The target for public service levies is high every year but revenue realization is still far from the target. This shows the existence of fluctuations in revenue from general service levies on Kuningan's own-source revenue (PAD). This study aims to analyze the effect of public service levies on the original income of Kuningan Regency. The research approach used in this study is quantitative with an associative type of research. This research employed saturated sampling types. Techniques from data collection efforts were obtained through field research and library research. Based on the results of the hypothesis test, it appears that public service fees have a positive effect, amounting to 0.514 for an increase in local own-source revenue and in the quite high category. This means that between public service levies and local own-source revenue (PAD) have a fairly high (positive) relationship. If public service levies are higher, it will be followed by higher local own-source revenues.

This chapter demonstrates the bioprocess strategies involved in the application and production of enzymes from an industrial view point. Moreover, bottlenecks in enzyme production and novel strategies to overcome the barriers are demonstrated here. Enzymes are produced from different sources of microorganisms and mostly all biological reactions happen due to the help of enzymes within a very short time. The different uses of enzymes are discussed in this chapter.

Somatic embryogenesis (SE) is a widely studied process due to its biotechnological potential to generate large quantities of plants in short time frames and from different sources of explants. The success of SE depends on many factors, such as the nature of the explant, the microenvironment generated by in vitro culture conditions, and the regulation of gene expression, among others. Epigenetics has recently been identified as an important factor influencing SE outcome. DNA methylation is one of the most studied epigenetic mechanisms due to its essential role in gene expression, and its participation in SE is crucial. DNA methylation levels can be modified through the use of drugs such as 5-Azacytidine (5-AzaC), an inhibitor of DNA methylation, which has been used during SE protocols. The balance between hypomethylation and hypermethylation seems to be the key to SE success. Here, we discuss the most prominent recent research on the role of 5-AzaC in the regulation of DNA methylation, highlighting its importance during the SE process. Also, the molecular implications that this inhibitor might have for the increase or decrease in the embryogenic potential of various explants are reviewed.

Abstract Short-time migrants, who stay in the host country from one to 12 months, use mediation strategies including lingua francas, public-service interpreting and translation, translation technologies, intercomprehension, and learning the host country’s dominant language. The choices made by asylum seekers in Slovenia, a country of transit for the majority of asylum seekers, are analyzed on the basis of questionnaires answered by 127 current and former residents of the Slovene asylum seeker centers in 2016, followed up by semi-structured interviews with a representative group of 34 asylum seekers. The results show that the majority of newly arrived migrants regard the use of lingua francas as a helpful but not desired long-term strategy. They define host-country language learning as the most desirable strategy for linguistic and social inclusion. Surprisingly, they are reluctant to use translation technologies and interpreters because they either doubt the accuracy of the transfer or they consider such mediation (interpreting in particular) a hindrance to their independence.

General service designs focus on specific customers. However, because of the diversity of customer demands, it is difficult to design a public service that addresses the demands of all customers. To achieve maximum customer satisfaction, it is imperative to summarize the demands of various customers and design a service by considering customers belonging to different categories. This study aims at realizing a service design by considering different customer groups. In particular, we propose a method that enables service design by considering groups of various customers and minimizing customer dissatisfaction by adopting a group-decision-making approach [1–4].

".... the description of even individual cases of this kind (gluttony) .... is of enormous scientific and practical interest."("Two wombs", composition, Dr. V. N. Orlov, preface by Prof. A. I. Lebedev, 1893).At present, laparotomy is often given in clinics and in some large hospitals (for example, there are reports of 200 cases, submitted by Prof. A. I. Lebedev), and about 300 - submitted by prof. G.E. Rein) that the description of seven cases proposed by me may seem completely uninteresting and not important; indeed, the number is not large, but it must be taken into account that these chavos were sent to a small out-of-town regional hospital, in an environment that is completely ordinary for our out-of-town hospitals, inherited from the Order of our Public Service: with labor, even a so-called intelligent person (not to mention a simple peasant woman) decides on any kind of operation, especially one in which it is necessary to open the abdominal cavity - this can be witnessed by any regional doctor!
