The task of the article is to study intercultural communication problems in the light of the universality and specificity of the laws of thinking. With regard to the task the author uses complex methods of research: the methods of dialectics, the method of comparative analysis, the method of philosophical hermeneutics. The article stresses the importance of communication as an integral part of activity. The author draws attention to the expression in the process of communication (with the mediating role of language) of categorical structure, the laws of thinking and formulates the hypothesis that rosscultural communication is carried out on the basis of common laws of thinking. In order to test the hypothesis she holds a logical and historical analysis of the problem of the existence of universal laws of thinking, analyzes the validity of the selection of cultural and civilizational types of thinking, such as the western and the eastern and establishes the basic unity of the laws of thinking that do not exclude, however, the time difference in formation of specific forms of the laws of thinking in terms of qualitative differences in activities of various societies.

Language problems are a risk factor for externalizing problems, but the developmental path remains unclear. Emotional competence may mediate the relationship, especially when externalizing problems are reactive in nature, such as in Oppositional Deviant Disorder (ODD) and reactive aggression. We examined the development of reactive and proactive externalizing problems in children with (n = 98) and without (n = 156) Developmental Language Disorder (DLD; age: 8–16 years) over 18 months. Relationships with communicative risk factors (structural, pragmatic and emotion communication) and the mediating role of emotional competence (emotion recognition and anger dysregulation) were examined. Multi-level analyses showed that increasing emotion recognition and decreasing anger dysregulation were longitudinally related to decreasing ODD symptoms in both groups, whereas anger dysregulation was related to more reactive aggression in children with DLD alone. Pragmatic and emotion communication problems were related to more reactive externalizing problems, but these relationships were mediated by emotional competence, suggesting that problems in emotional competence explain the communication problems of children with DLD. Therefore, in addition to interventions for communication skills, there is a need to address the emotional competence of children with DLD, as this decreases the risk for reactive externalizing problems.

This study assesses the association between cognitive schemas of justification of violence, grandiosity and abuse, and reactive and proactive aggressive behavior, and whether this association is mediated by social information processing (SIP). For this purpose, a sample of 1371 adolescents (638 girls and 580 boys) completed measures of cognitive schemas, SIP, and Reactive-Proactive Aggression. The results showed that the cognitive schemas of justification of violence and narcissism are more relevant for proactive aggression, whereas the abuse schema is more relevant for reactive aggression. SIP mediated particularly the association between cognitive schemas and reactive aggression. Each cognitive schema was shown to be associated with some particular SIP component: justification of violence and abuse with the component of interpretation, and narcissism with the experience of anger. Moreover, the abuse schema was negatively associated with the selection of aggressive responses. Lastly, a general model of paths between schemas, SIP, and aggression was found to be quite similar for boys and girls, although the former scored higher in proactive aggression, partly because of their higher scores in the justification of violence and narcissism schemas.

Purpose – The purpose of this study is to explore the effect of tourists’ needs for healing experience (NHE) on behavioral intentions for transformation (BIT) with healing involvement (HI) as a mediator. Using the two sub-constructs of BIT in the tourism industry (i.e. selection of healing tour products and transformational intention of healing tour behavior), this study evaluates BIT. Design/methodology/approach – The survey was administered to visitors in healing resorts/centers in Korea; 383 completed surveys were used to investigate the hypothesized relationships of this study using regression analysis. Findings – The study results confirmed the hypothesized relationships: the positive effects of NHE on BIT and the significant mediating role of HI in the relationships between NHE and BIT. Practical implications – The relationships among NHE, HI and BIT can improve the understanding and practices of healing experience and the development of healing products in the tourism industry. This study offers a meaningful and extended perspective on customers’ experience and product development by interpreting customers’ desires and needs. Originality/value – This study explores the under-researched subject of NHE and HI from a transformative economic perspective. The study is among the first to examine the structural relationships among NHE, HI and BIT. The uniqueness of the study is highlighted by the use of two sub-dimensions of the BIT industry (i.e. selection of healing tour products and transformational intention of healing tour behavior) in a tourism context.

Introduction. In the twentieth century, anthropocentric trends of social and economic growth stimulated interest in a healthy lifestyle and physical education. There have been processes that have made sports and physical culture an important sector of the economy of many countries. The methods of theoretical and comparative analysis were used in the course of the research to reveal the essence and economic role of the sports and health sphere of the region. Results. The article carries out a comparative analysis of the concepts «sphere of physical culture and sports», «sports and health sphere», «physical culture and health services» and «sports and health services», «sports and health activities», «sports and health services market». It was found that according to the traditional approach, the field of physical culture and sports is considered by scientists in the context of its impact on the health and lifestyle of the population, the formation of an appropriate culture of behaviour. Recent historiography on the interest of Italian economists in American economic thought is becoming rich and valuable. Thanks to these sources, we know that this interest arose because several Italian economists were attracted by the realism featured in North American economic investigation, by the importance attributed to both statistical measurement and historical analysis, and by the pluralism of approaches and vital eclecticism of American social scientists. Among Italian economists, Luigi Einaudi acknowledged such scientific vitality, and held the role of advisor for the selection of Italian candidates for Rockefeller fellowships. With Luigi De Simone of the University of Naples, the second Italian economist selected for a study program in the United States was Giovanni Demaria, who established a long-lasting relationship with the Rockefeller Foundation (1930-1958): first as a student (1930-1931), then as the Rector of the Bocconi University (1947-1952), and finally as an authoritative economist and the President of the Societŕ Italiana degli Economisti (1953-1958).

The article describes the symbolic meaning of the image of some bird species existing in the Kalmyk traditional perception. As a rule, different species of birds in the culture of a nation have their own symbolic meaning that can have both positive and negative connotation. The article analyzes the role of messengers referred to different species of birds. The article points out the link of the bird symbolism with totemism and in particular with the selection of this or other species of birds for totems of different ethnic groups. There was a comparative analysis of the bird symbolism among different nations. The study is of great importance as there is a need for revealing the main characteristics of bird image symbols which are as ancient as any other symbols existing in the life of people. The article analyzes the ornithonyms of the Kalmyk language from the ethno-linguistic point of view. Ornithonyms are widely represented in the folklore of Kalmyks and other Mongolian nations: in the fairy tales, proverbs, sayings and other folklore genres.
