The interactions of water, energy, and food, which are essential resources for human survival, livelihoods, production, and development, constitute a water–energy–food (WEF) nexus. Applying symbiosis theory, the economic, social, and natural factors were considered at the same time in the WEF system, and we conducted a micro-level investigation focusing on the stability, coordination, and sustainability of the symbiotic units (water, energy, and food), and external environment of the WEF system in 36 prefecture-level cities across three northeastern provinces of China. Finally, we analyzed the synergistic safety and coupling coordination degree of the WEF system by the combination of stability, coordination, and sustainability, attending to the coordination relationship and influences of the external environment. The results indicated that the synergistic safety of the WEF system in three northeastern provinces need to equally pay attention to the stability, coordination, and sustainability of the WEF system, since their weights were 0.32, 0.36 and 0.32, respectively. During 2010–2016, the synergistic safety indexes of the WEF system ranged between 0.40 and 0.60, which was a state of boundary safety. In the current study, the coupling coordination degree of the WEF system fluctuated around a value of 0.6, maintaining a primary coordination level; while in the future of 2021–2026, it will decline to 0.57–0.60, dropping to a weak coordinated level. The conclusion could provide effective information for decision-makers to take suitable measures for the security development of a WEF system.

Principles of participative management have been commonly used in the contemporary management. This involves decentralization and democratization of management, various forms of employees’ engagement in the organization’s management. The participative management ideas, if practiced, can offer the key to building an effective management system and motivating business entities to a complex organization, and it can be a feasible model for organization of governance within the local self-governance system.   Participative management is based on recognition of mutual interests of all the members of an organization, thus integrating these interests and increasing the employees’ concern with labor results. It can exist in various forms, of which the main ones are income-sharing, profit-sharing, equity-sharing and participation in management. Each form of participative management can be implemented separately, but the highest effect can result from their combination (the synergy effect). Participative management has already been widely used by many business organizations in Europe and elsewhere. Participative management, therefore, is one of the advanced management methods involves decentralization and democratization of management, participation of employees in management, effective utilization of human resources for their development and the development of the organization’s system. Participative management can change and reinforce the employee’s motivation system. Yet, the participation does not diminish the rights and responsibilities of managers.   Principles of participative management are more and more often used in public governance as a model for governance within the local self-governance system. However, practical use of participative management tools still requires detailed theoretical studies. Because participative management principles and tools have only been at introductory phase now, they require theoretical elaborations and practical experiences especially. High effectiveness of participative management can be achieved only in established and capable territorial communities, when the collective intellect and collective interest of all the members of a territorial community is engaged in governance processes.

Scientists have researched and scientificallysubstantiated the significant effect of the use of project management tools on all business entities and on the country's economy as a whole. At the same time, in modern conditionsactive economic development and turbulenceenvironment, lead to the fact that considerable attention should be given tothe strategic line of conduct of enterprises. The strategy allows to take into account the capabilities of the enterprise, as well as investment projects in various strategic business areas. Despite the fact that many sources describe the process of the development of logistics systems through investment projects; in practice it is very difficult to implement. For the implementation of investment projects of the enterprise it is necessary to present this process in the form of a set of formalized procedures or in the form of step-by-step sequence of actions for choosing the best option for an investment project. This problem is especially relevant for logistics systems, because their activities are carried out in the form of many projects. Increasing the volume of investments and improving the efficiency of investment management in logistics systems is one of the fundamental conditions for reducing the duration of the production and sales cycle, which creates the preconditions for economic growth by accelerating the turnover of funds. The production potential of economic entities, their efficiency, and hence the sectoral and reproductive structure of all public production will largely depend on the investment projects, both at the micro and at the macro logistical level.Unsolved in practical terms of the problem of improving the investment process and management of investment activities in logistics systems, the need to develop a methodology for analyzing and modeling the investment activities of logistics systems in the context of the transformation of the economy, as well as insufficient coverage of this problem in domestic and foreign literature determined the relevance of the research topic.

The article analyzes the role of introducing controlling in the management of the competitiveness potential of an enterprise in the internal and external markets. The main definitions of the term "controlling" are formulated. The main stages of controlling and its methodological support are determined. Controlling allows an enterprise to adapt to a constantly changing external environment and successfully survive in a competitive environment. The essence of controlling and its place in the enterprise management system can be considered from four approaches: functional, situational, process and systemic. At the same time, two types of controlling are distinguished, namely, operational and strategic, which form an integral controlling system that allows an enterprise to achieve its goals and results. The main purpose of strategic controlling as a management tool is to form the necessary information support and analytical base for the formation of a set of indicators (indicators) which will attest to the need for transformational changes, and about their effectiveness in the long term. With the help of the tools of operational controlling, a mechanism is formed that makes it possible to timely establish deviations from the planned path and correct the direction of development. The components of the controlling process can vary depending on the specifics of the activity and the goals of the company. The development of integration and globalization processes stimulates the development of enterprise transformation at certain stages of its life cycle. To correctly identify the transformation point, that is, to determine the set of control parameters that indicate the need for transformation, it is necessary to use the strategic controlling toolkit, which is designed to increase the competitiveness of the enterprise in the general business environment. Taking into account these development trends, strategic and tactical transformations as a tool for ensuring competitiveness and constant development in a dynamic external environment are a prerequisite for the development of a company.

This paper provides a meta-analysis of the intersection of (a) religiosity and spirituality with (b) generosity, philanthropy, nonprofits, and prosociality. The study is informed by three informational sources, chronologically: (1) informational interviews with scholars and practitioners based within and studying regions outside of the U.S. and Western Europe; (2) discovery search of purposefully selected extant publications, especially focusing on the last decade of contemporary scholarship; and (3) systematic search of relevant peer-reviewed publication outlets since 2010. Reviewed publications are categorized by level of analysis into macro, meso, and micro approaches. Across each level and source, publications are also geo-tagged for their geographic scope. Particular attention is paid to the under-studied world regions of Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the Middle East. The results reveal that Asia is the most studied and Latin America the least studied, and that meso-level approaches are the most common while micro-level are the least common. Additionally, a map of publication counts reveals within-region inequalities by country. Implications of the analysis are drawn for future studies, particularly ways to advance this interdisciplinary field.

This article analyzes the situations, which can cause accidents and catastrophes on water transport, and which reduction is possible due to increase of information components at formation of control. It is shown that one of the factors of formation of emergency situations at river and sea vessels, in coastal conditions of navigation, can be variability of object dynamics at change of external environment condition and insufficient information support of the automatic control device. Additional information: possible maximal values of steering angles, less than which the reaction of the vessel to changes in control may be unpredictable; size and location of areas of low controllability of the object. These dynamic features significantly depend on the state of the environment and should be taken into account when developing the control algorithm.

The purpose of the research is to develop a mechanism of process management of ensuring the enterprise competitiveness of the enterprise in terms of the economic processes informatization. The following general scientific and applied research methods were used in the research process: analysis and synthesis, deduction and induction were used in the process management of determining the methodological basis of the process management of ensuring the enterprise competitiveness; systematization and generalization in the process of clarifying the purpose, object and subject of the process management of ensuring the enterprise competitiveness; the method of abstraction and formalization — to substantiate the conceptual provisions of the process management mechanism of ensuring the enterprise competitiveness in terms of the economic processes informatization; monographic methods — for in-depth study of the tasks; abstract-logical methods — for theoretical generalization of research results and formulation of conclusions and suggestions. The suggested mechanism for the process management of ensuring the enterprise competitiveness in terms of the economic processes informatization allows to determine the level of resource potential and a better choice of the optimal competitive strategy of the enterprise development, and decision making will more precisely justify specific measures to strengthen the market position. The practical significance of the study is, first of all, to build a scheme for the process management of ensuring the enterprise competitiveness of in terms of the economic processes informatization, which creates prerequisites for a responsible and sound policy to improve the management of competitiveness. Originality lies in substantiating the structural elements of the process management of ensuring the competitiveness of the enterprise in terms of the economic processes informatization that affect and determine measures to improve the management of the enterprise competitiveness, which combines the study of active business processes, financial support and information support.
