One of the most important tasks of higher education is to transform the research potential of higher educational institutions into a factor of economic development of Russia. According to the requirements of the Federal State Educational Standard for Higher Education and qualification requirements of the Unified Qualification Directory of positions of managers, specialists and civil servants, the organization, management, participation, and conduct of research work is one of the job responsibilities of lecturers, associate professors, and professors of the department, especially workers of science. Introduction. Working conditions of the teaching staff of higher education institutions are not static, as they reflect the changes taking place in the outside world. The increase in the role of informatization, the acceleration of the information flow, the changing of the information field, the introduction of scientometric indicators, the recognition of the impact of stress in the workplace on the health of an employee – all this accompanies the work of the teaching staff. The analysis of these phenomena makes it possible to single out three large groups of working conditions for the teaching staff of higher education institution, which today are undergoing changes, to identify the prerequisites for their occurrence and to formulate their consequences for the entire educational process. The purpose of the study was to conduct a comprehensive analysis of the working conditions of higher education teachers, which are currently undergoing changes. Methods and methodology. The work used the methodology of a comprehensive study, including methods of document analysis, comparative analysis, secondary use of sociological, economic and medical data. The results of the study show that the digitalization of vocational education, including higher education, is carried out in different conditions than the digitalization of schools, which leads to the emergence of a new paradigm of interaction between higher education teachers and students. As a result of research, the absence of a centralized acquisition of skills in the use of digital technologies by teachers was confirmed: 45% of respondents carry out advanced training on their own, 41% – using online platforms, 31% – ask for help from colleagues in their educational institution, 30% – exchange experience with colleagues from others vocational institutions. In the absence of legislative regulation of the issue of mastering new digital competencies by the teaching staff of higher education institutions, the ways of solving this issue are proposed. The results of the research revealed that meeting the scientific productivity requirements for the teaching staff is one of the main sources of stress in the workplace (40% of respondents). It is concluded that in order to achieve quality indicators in the field of scientific activity, in order to prevent opportunistic behavior of the teaching staff, higher education institutions need to develop tools of internal motivation. The authors believe that an integrated approach to regulating the emotional burnout of teachers could also be applied in relation to minimizing the risks of professional burnout, that is, to adopt acts of legal regulation at the federal and local levels in order to prevent professional burnout.

The vector of competence approach in professional formation of specialists poses to the higher education of Ukraine the question of the quality of future teachers’ preparation, the examination of which should become the professional competencies of the graduate student. The psychological competencies of the teacher require specification of the application of psychological knowledge in relation to a number of interactions that mediate the educational process and activity of a teacher. It is logical for the society to expect that the basic psychological competences of the future teacher should be acquired at the stage of primary professionalization in the educational institution which prepares teachers. Structurally normative psychological training of future teachers is indirectly reflected in the scope of teaching and distribution of teaching hours of psychological disciplines, in their content and structuring in different training courses, the ratio of classroom hours and independent work of the student in the discipline. The purpose of the work is to summarize the educational tendencies in the content of the curricula of psychological training of future teachers in the higher education system. The main results were obtained through the methods of analysis of curricula for the preparation of mathematics teachers of bachelor level in different higher education institutions of Ukraine in the context of: the volume of academic hours of disciplines of psychological cycle and their content representation; studying trends in the ratio of different forms of classroom training and their share in the general and practical training of specialists. The analysis of ten-year curricula and programs of psychological disciplines showed a variety of volumes of study of psychological disciplines, a tendency to decrease its academic hours, a reduction in the number of ECTS credits and reduction of the applied content component of developmental, pedagogical, social psychology and psychological foundations of family life. There is a certain tendency to decrease the quota of classroom study of psychological disciplines and increase the volume of students’ independent work. The lack of approved national professional standard for the teaching profession makes it difficult to include applied psychological disciplines in teacher training plans designed to ensure the formation of professional psychological competencies of future educators.

The introduction of the designated model promotes: productive activity of students; autonomy of learning and the maximum approximation of the accumulated experience to the requirements of the labour market; the formation of an active research position of the project participants; the formation of students ‘ critical thinking by phased activation of the operations of thinking. Using the model need to be creative in overcoming some negative aspects: to develop the motivational aspect of attracting students to research activities; to form the definition of future student’s research activities; to maximize the interaction of science with the educational process and with the requirements of the labour market; to overcome the stereotype that not all students should be involved in scientific work.
