Introduction: The outbreak of the novel coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has taken almost all countries worldwide. This situation has compromised the safety and health of all medical workers, including microsurgeons. Given that there have been various articles published about the recommendations in microsurgical reconstruction during the COVID-19 pandemic, We felt compelled to compile all relevant studies about the microsurgical reconstruction in the COVID-19 pandemic setting, describe the various actions from different perspectives, as well as providing suggestions based on evidence-based medicine. Method: We did a systematic literature search using electronic databases such as PubMed, Embase, Medline, Wiley, and Cochrane using keywords reconstruction, Microsurgery, coronavirus, and COVID-19. All included studies were critically appraised and reviewed. Results: Nine relevant articles were included for the final review, four of them were qualitative studies, and 5 were guidelines. Studies look at various surgeon's experiences from different healthcare systems during the COVID-19 pandemic. The focuses of the included studies are also diverse from head and neck surgery, breast surgery, limb surgery, and general Reconstructive Microsurgery. Conclusion: Microsurgical reconstruction is not suggested to perform during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic. It is indicated only if necessary after a rigorous review by the multi-disciplinary team. A full PPE, including a Powered Air Purifying Respirators (PAPR) system, fit-tested N95 respirator masks, face shield, and tight-fitting eye protection goggles, are recommended in performing the surgeries.

BACKGROUND The expanse of the coronavirus disease 2019 or COVID-19 is huge. The impact is multispectral and affected almost all aspects of human life. SUMMARY Respiratory impact of the COVID-19 is the most felt and widely reported impact. As the novel coronavirus maintained its history of affecting lungs as seen previously in severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) outbreak. Ventilators and oxygen support system are required mostly in comorbid patients particularly amongpatientsbearing illnesses like asthma, bronchial impairment and so on. CONCLUSION More study needs to be done in order to assess the impact on the respiratory functioning of the body. Respiratory care must be including proper instruments so that more efficient result can be obtained. Research is needed to promote the invention of specific therapy for targeted action for respiratory functioning improvement.

The novel coronavirus, COVID-19, which emerged at the end of 2019 and spread to the world at a very fast pace, resulted in a pandemic affecting the finance industry besides many other industries though at varying extents. Financial markets, which can be regarded as cornerstones of each and every country's economic success, have been adversely influenced due to the fear and uncertainty arising with the emergence of the novel coronavirus at different degrees. This chapter provides a summary of a literature review based on the impact of this pandemic on stock returns and volatility in the stock exchanges of different countries and regions of the world. What has been captured as a result of this literature review is that almost all of the financial markets around the world have been influenced due to the virus. Further, industry-wise empirical studies demonstrate that not all industries are affected at the same level or even in the same direction.

People worldwide are experiencing the most dangerous situation concerning the novel severe acute respiratory syndrome known as coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2), commonly referred to as the novel coronavirus disease-2019 (CoViD-19). Since late December 2019, an epidemic of coronavirus disease 2019 (CoViD-19) occurred in Wuhan, China, and rapidly spread to almost all parts of China. With the growing global burden of the CoViD-19 pandemic, scientists, researchers, and healthcare-related organizations constantly work for a viable vaccine or therapeutics, scalable detection methods, personal protection devices, and novel effective medical solutions. Nanotechnology has recently considerably addressed the many clinical and public healthcare issues that have emerged from the CoViD-19 pandemic. The main focus of this current review article is to explore the possibility and potential of nanotechnology to combat this global pandemic and ongoing mitigation techniques and strategies. Furthermore, novel nanotechnology-based products are currently being developed for the prevention, diagnostic, treatment of CoViD-19, which various researchers or healthcare organizations invent.

  This study aims to identify the positive and negative repercussions of the novel Coronavirus crisis on students’ remote learning in Saudi universities. A descriptive survey method is carried out using a questionnaire and distributed to a cluster sample of 651 undergraduate students. Results reveal the most prominent positive repercussions, which are that the university cares about the learners' safety and health health and places them at the highest priority, review of recorded lectures and investing time. Results also reveal the most prominent negative repercussions, which are students’ concern about their academic conditions, reduced access to teaching and research facilities and laboratories, and large assignments. Statistically significant differences are also found in favour of males, health disciplines, and King Faisal University and University of Hail.   Keywords: Repercussions,covid-19, student,remote learning,Saudi universities

Almost all countries around the world are struggling against the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic. In this paper, a nonlinear Markov chains model is proposed in order to analyse and to understand the behaviour of the Covid-19 pandemic. The data from China was used to build up the presented model. Thereafter, the nonlinear Markov chain model is employed to estimate the daily new Covid-19 cases in some countries including Italy, Spain, France, UK, the USA, Germany, Turkey, and Kuwait. In addition, the correlation between the daily new Covid-19 cases and the daily number of deaths is examined.

Soon after its emergence in Wuhan, China in late December, the novel coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) spread rapidly to the other parts of the world and acquired a pandemic status. Pakistan reported its first case of SARS-CoV-2 on February 26, 2020, in Karachi. Since then, a higher prevalence of COVID-19 was reported from almost all major cities of Pakistan. Owing to the high rate of COVID-19, Pakistan enforced a lockdown across the whole country on March 24, 2020. This lockdown controlled the SARS-CoV-2 successfully; however, severe economic losses were observed in the lockdown Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) guidelines. We, therefore, proposed an alternative plan termed as “regulated reverse lockdown” which will help decrease the burden of COVID-19 without having a negative effect on the economy. The present editorial will address the potential flaws in the already imposed lockdown and will propose an alternative plan to make the lockdown more effective in terms of COVID-19 prevalence and economic growth of Pakistan.

The outbreak of a novel type of Coronavirus (COVID-19) in the majority of countries around the world has had many negative implications on almost all aspects of life. Currently, about a quarter of the population of Earth is quarantined at their homes, social distancing is effective everywhere, almost all industries have ceased their activities, and various businesses are either closed down or working from home. Procedures taken by governments or local authorities to improve their ability to contain the outbreak have impacted the global economy, which in turn will have many consequences on financial reporting of organizations. This study examines the impact of the novel Coronavirus outbreak on financial reporting of organizations from the viewpoint of Certified Public Accountants in Lebanon. The researchers have used a descriptive-analytical approach and have constructed a well-structured five-point Likert style questionnaire as the study tool. The questionnaire was distributed to a sample chosen from the population of certified public accountants in Lebanon. The random sample consisted of 300 practitioners of the profession, and 221 of them responded; all of which were valid for testing and analysis. The study reached some important findings mainly that the COVID-19 outbreak has had a significant impact on the financial reporting of businesses according to the opinions of Certified Public Accountants (CPAs) in Lebanon, and the researchers had some recommendations as a result.

ABSTRACTDuring the novel coronavirus pandemic, also known as SARS-CoV-2 or COVID-19 pandemic, frontline healthcare professionals suffered psychological as well as pathological trauma due to the lack of preparation to cope with this unforeseen situation. The protocols to prevent the spread of this disease proved to be less effective than anticipated. In these circumstances, improvement of the existing triage system was felt and an AUDIO-VISUAL TRIAGE (AVT) system was introduced to enhance confidence as well as increase the safety of frontline healthcare professionals. The current analysis was performed from March 21, 2020, to April 28, 2020, until the completion of sixty response forms, at Bahria Town International Hospital, Lahore. Thirty participants (Group A) deployed on visual triage and other thirty (Group B) on AVT for screening suspected cases of COVID-19 infection. Anxiety levels were measured by using the GAD-7 scoring system and the participants of both groups were periodically tested for COVID-19 infection by PCR. Independent t-test was used to evaluate the significance of different variables at a confidence level of 95%. The result of the current study revealed the effectiveness of AVT for the screening of COVID-19 patients. There was a statistically significant increase in anxiety levels and severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection rate in group A as compared to group B. Almost all participants in group A wanted to shift their place of work or ready to quit the job if they were forced to perform their duties at the same visual triage. AVT system for COVID-19 screening found to be more safe and less stressful than visual triage. It is not only a simple and effective way to prevent the spread of diseases but also boosted the confidence of frontline healthcare professionals to fight against coronavirus spread.

The novel coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) pandemic infection during pregnancy brings potential bioethical issues in critical obstetrics, prenatal counseling, and making decisions over pregnancy termination and delivery. Maternal-fetal care using evidence- based medicine from the MFM health team, along with disciplines such as epigenetics and perinatal immunology, should use ethical values, guidelines, and protocols born of multidisciplinary consensus provided along with ethical committees assistance, where it is essential to apply the principles of beneficence and respect of autonomy, in addition to fetal consideration as a patient, particularly in presence of viability. Using enlightening discussion and reflexive prudent clinical judgment taking into consideration facts, values, and duties to make decisions is the ethical and human guideline to face the tremendous challenge represented by the pandemic during pregnancy in Latin America.

Since early 2020, COVID-19 has wreaked havoc in many societies around the world. As of the present, the SARS-CoV-2-borne disease is propagating in almost all countries, affecting hundreds of thousands of people in an unprecedented way. As the name suggests, the novel coronavirus, widely known as SARS-CoV-2, is a new emerging human pathogen. A novel disease of relatively unknown origin, COVID-19 does not seem to be amenable to the currently available medicines since there is no specific cure for the disease. In the absence of any vaccine or effective antiviral medication, we have no tools at our disposal, but the method of quarantine, be it domestic or institutional, to hinder any further progression of this outbreak. However, there is a record of physicians in the past who practiced convalescent blood transfusion. To their awe, the method seemed to be useful. It is anticipated that these contemporary methods will outdo any other vaccination process in the time being, as blood transfusion is instead a cost-effective and time-friendly technique. Following a successful trial, this new approach of contemporary nature to a viral disease may serve as an emergency intervention to intercept infectious outbreaks and prevent an impending epidemic/pandemic. In this review, we document the most recent evidence regarding the efficiency of convalescent plasma and serum therapy on SARS, MERS, and particularly COVID-19, while discussing potential advantages and possible risks of such practice.
