The use of optical satellite sensors allows to obtain bathymetry data on large area ina short time and in a cheap way. In addition, in particular places where it is difficult to carry out the survey by classic methods, the bathymetry from satellite data can be the only mode to obtain the depth of the backdrop. So, the aim of this research paper is to analyse the potential of the eight bands and the very high resolution of the commercial satellite WorldView-3 (WV-3) in order to obtain bathymetric data. Using WV-3 satellite data and the Stumpf method, the paper intends to investigate the possibility of obtaining bathymetric data in a specific area where the water is not particularly clear. To achieve this goal, in Geographic Information System (GIS) environment, several algorithms have been developed. The comparison between the results and the reference bathymetric data shows a huge potential of the WV-3 satellite data. The area of study concerns the port area of the city of Lisbon and a part of the river <em>Rio Tejo</em>, in Portugal.

Introduction. The focus of this study is on the material culture of one of the major cities of south-eastern Taurika Sugdeja in the 12th and early 13th centuries, as well as archaeological sources that allow to highlight stratified archaeological complexes and horizons of that time. Special attention is paid to the justification of chronological indicators presented by household objects, decorations, objects of Christian cult and imported red clay glazed ceramics. The latter, based on modern chronological developments and the archaeological situation, is the most important indicator. It is common to combine this pottery into a group of Middle Byzantine Production (MBP). Methods. The standard methods, which are usually involved for the study of archaeological materials, are used in the work: stratigraphic, typological, and comparative. Analysis. The materials from decades of excavation in Sudak, which are stored in archives and museum repositories now, have been studied again. As a result, 5 sites with layers of the 12th – early / first half of the 13th centuries have been located in the different part of the medieval site, including the port area, as well as more than two dozen finds of the MBP were attributed. Results. The newly obtained data allowed us to conclude that Sugdeja occupied a rather large area during the studied period and the city continued to maintain contacts with the Central Byzantine lands during all this time. Moreover, the findings of different stylistic and chronological types of ceramics indicate the presence of such contacts both during the reign of the Komnenoi and Angeloi, and after the conquest of Constantinople by the Latins in 1204.

&lt;p&gt;The TROPOMI and OMI satellite sensors provide an exciting perspective on the sources, dispersion, and fate of air pollution, and in particular on nitrogen dioxide (NO&lt;sub&gt;2&lt;/sub&gt;). Yet it is still difficult to relate satellite observations of tropospheric NO&lt;sub&gt;2&lt;/sub&gt; columns to the underlying NO&lt;sub&gt;x&lt;/sub&gt; emissions and their trends. Robust interpretation of satellite data relies on a good understanding of the accuracy and representativeness of the satellite data itself, but also on the relationship between NO&lt;sub&gt;x&lt;/sub&gt; emissions and the observable NO&lt;sub&gt;2&lt;/sub&gt; amount. This relationship is influences by local chemistry, mixing and dispersion, and by the NO&lt;sub&gt;2&lt;/sub&gt; amount in the free troposphere. We address these issues via two examples:&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;(1) Direct estimation of NO&lt;sub&gt;x&lt;/sub&gt; emissions from the satellite-observed build-up of pollution over the city of Paris. After validating NO&lt;sub&gt;2&lt;/sub&gt; measurements from TROPOMI over the heart of Paris, we analyse the observed build-up of NO&lt;sub&gt;2&lt;/sub&gt; pollution over the city along with the wind. Over the city, recently emitted NO&lt;sub&gt;x&lt;/sub&gt; has been oxidized to limited degree, facilitating the use of TROPOMI data to directly determine the strength and distribution of emissions from the city. From the observed build-up of NO&lt;sub&gt;2&lt;/sub&gt; pollution, we find highest NO&lt;sub&gt;x&lt;/sub&gt; emissions on cold weekdays in February 2018, and lowest emissions on warm weekend days in spring 2018.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;(2) Trends in NO&lt;sub&gt;2&lt;/sub&gt; over The Netherlands. We use the QA4ECV OMI NO&lt;sub&gt;2&lt;/sub&gt; record to investigate trends in tropospheric NO&lt;sub&gt;2&lt;/sub&gt; columns over Europe, and in particular over The Netherlands between 2005 and 2018. In spite of the differences in metrics and sampling techniques, the NO&lt;sub&gt;2&lt;/sub&gt; measured in the Dutch atmosphere from space and from the ground follows a trend that is consistent with predictions by emission inventories. Surface NO&lt;sub&gt;2&lt;/sub&gt; is reduced by 32% in 2018 relative to 2005, OMI NO&lt;sub&gt;2&lt;/sub&gt; by 35%, and NO&lt;sub&gt;x&lt;/sub&gt; emissions by 32%-38% depending on the inventory. Interestingly, the Dutch surface concentrations reveal an upward trend in the NO&lt;sub&gt;2&lt;/sub&gt;:NO ratio in line with O&lt;sub&gt;3&lt;/sub&gt; increases. This suggests that the NO&lt;sub&gt;2&lt;/sub&gt; makes up an increasing share of the NO&lt;sub&gt;x&lt;/sub&gt; in the lower atmosphere as NO&lt;sub&gt;x&lt;/sub&gt; emissions decline. This needs to be accounted for when interpreting NO&lt;sub&gt;2&lt;/sub&gt; trends as proxy for NO&lt;sub&gt;x&lt;/sub&gt; trends.&lt;/p&gt;

Maize is a widely grown crop in China, and the relationships between agroclimatic parameters and maize yield are complicated, hence, accurate and timely yield prediction is challenging. Here, climate, satellite data, and meteorological indices were integrated to predict maize yield at the city-level in China from 2000 to 2015 using four machine learning approaches, e.g., cubist, random forest (RF), extreme gradient boosting (Xgboost), and support vector machine (SVM). The climate variables included the diffuse flux of photosynthetic active radiation (PDf), the diffuse flux of shortwave radiation (SDf), the direct flux of shortwave radiation (SDr), minimum temperature (Tmn), potential evapotranspiration (Pet), vapor pressure deficit (Vpd), vapor pressure (Vap), and wet day frequency (Wet). Satellite data, including the enhanced vegetation index (EVI), normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI), and adjusted vegetation index (SAVI) from the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS), were used. Meteorological indices, including growing degree day (GDD), extreme degree day (EDD), and the Standardized Precipitation Evapotranspiration Index (SPEI), were used. The results showed that integrating all climate, satellite data, and meteorological indices could achieve the highest accuracy. The highest estimated correlation coefficient (R) values for the cubist, RF, SVM, and Xgboost methods were 0.828, 0.806, 0.742, and 0.758, respectively. The climate, satellite data, or meteorological indices inputs from all growth stages were essential for maize yield prediction, especially in late growth stages. R improved by about 0.126, 0.117, and 0.143 by adding climate data from the early, peak, and late-period to satellite data and meteorological indices from all stages via the four machine learning algorithms, respectively. R increased by 0.016, 0.016, and 0.017 when adding satellite data from the early, peak, and late stages to climate data and meteorological indices from all stages, respectively. R increased by 0.003, 0.032, and 0.042 when adding meteorological indices from the early, peak, and late stages to climate and satellite data from all stages, respectively. The analysis found that the spatial divergences were large and the R value in Northwest region reached 0.942, 0.904, 0.934, and 0.850 for the Cubist, RF, SVM, and Xgboost, respectively. This study highlights the advantages of using climate, satellite data, and meteorological indices for large-scale maize yield estimation with machine learning algorithms.

The study of physical and social divisions in divided societies has long been an area of study, such as the continued usage of 'peace walls' in Belfast, hostile architecture to prevent anti-social behaviour and rough sleeping, and the securitisation of private spaces. In the context of a new drive to create a smart district, this paper looks at the relationship between smart urbanism and planning, and at the spatial and social divisions between a new 'gentrifying' and well-educated community in the Dublin Docklands and established communities in the area. The Dublin Docklands redevelopment marks a significant break from a pattern of suburbanisation and inner-city decline and repurposes part of the former port area as a city centre extension. The paper accounts for the reshaping of the Dublin Docklands as a ‘smart district’ in collaboration with the city authorities, based on over thirty semi-structured interviews and participant-observation at consultation events. It argues that reductive definitions of smart cities as networking technologies be reworked into broader considerations on urban technologies and the future of cities, with greater emphasis on the relationship between technologies branded as ‘smart’ and the material and digital manifestation of boundaries in urban form.

<p><strong>Abstract.</strong> OpenStreetMap (OSM) uses the Open Database License, it is a collaborative project that collects a rich set of vector data provided by volunteers. It is a global collection of mapping data that can be used for a wide variety of purposes. Many third-party online maps are based on OpenStreetMap data. Currently, more and more large organizations are choosing OSM for their maps.</p> <p>In addition, the analysis of the spatial quality of the OSM data shows that particular care must be taken. However, there are several methods for assessing the quality of the OSM data by comparing the OSM to an authoritative dataset. In this context, it is essential to develop an automatic procedure to improve its spatial quality.</p> <p>This work proposes a quantitative method for comparing the quality of the OSM and an authoritative data set on urban networks in the city of Oran (Algeria). The procedure is based on python modules in a GIS environment and provides measurements of the spatial accuracy and completeness of the OSM road network. The method is applied to assess the quality of the Oran OSM road network data set through a comparison with the official Algerian dataset. The results show that the OSM's Algerian road network is very complete, but with low spatial accuracy.</p>

This paper is meeting the principles of how to design coverage area for Sulaymaniyah city, using a new technology, which named HAPS. It started with small introduction for HAPS with its advantages, compare it with terrestrial and satellite systems, and specify requirements for design. Such as, specify the center of coverage area to find the coordinates. Then, supposed the coverage area for the city, elevation angle, and the location of earth stations which will connect HAPS with other networks and reduce the Interference with Fixed Services (FS) and Fixed Satellite Services (FSS).Mitigation technique of interference is given. Also, path loss and fading loss has been applied to meet the geographic of Sulaymaniyah city.

<p class="AbstractEnglish"><strong>Abstract:</strong> Flood events on Wednesday, September 26, 2018, in several sub-districts in the city of Padang showed different conditions with the Indonesian region in general which were in normal to drier conditions. One year earlier, precisely on September 9, 2017, there were floods in almost all areas of the city of Padang. This study aims to determine the atmospheric conditions during flood events from the climatological and meteorological side. The data used are monthly rainfall and a monthly number of Rainy Days (HH) from 1981-2018 from the Minangkabau Meteorological Station, as well as Himawari-8 Weather Satellite data. Satellite data is processed using Satellite Animation and Interactive Diagnosis (SATAID) software to obtain cloud cover analysis, cloud growth activities, and atmospheric lability levels. September 2017 and September 2018 are in the nature of normal rain with a percentage of 101% and 88%. The increase in the amount of rainfall in August 2017 to September 2017 is not significant at 27 mm compared to August 2018 to September 2018 which is significant at 148 mm. The number of rainy days in September 2017 and 2018 were 24 and 23 respectively, which showed that almost every day there was rain in those months. The meteorological analysis shows that there is convective cloud growth activity in the Padang area which is characterized by an unstable level of atmospheric stability which has the potential for moderate to heavy rainfall.</p><p class="KeywordsEngish"><strong>Abstrak:</strong> Kejadian banjir pada Rabu, 26 September 2018 di beberapa kecamatan di Kota Padang menunjukkan kondisi yang berlainan dengan wilayah Indonesia pada umumnya yang berada dalam kondisi normal hingga lebih kering. Satu tahun sebelumnya, tepatnya pada 9 September 2017 juga terjadi banjir hampir di seluruh wilayah Kota Padang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kondisi atmosfer pada saat kejadian banjir dari sisi klimatologis dan meteorologisnya. Data yang digunakan adalah curah hujan bulanan dan jumlah Hari Hujan (HH) bulanan dari tahun 1981-2018 dari Stasiun Meteorologi Minangkabau, serta data Satelit Cuaca Himawari-8. Data satelit diolah menggunakan piranti lunak Satellite Animation and Interactive Diagnosis (SATAID) untuk mendapatkan analisis tutupan awan, aktivitas pertumbuhan awannya, dan tingkat labilitas atmosfer. September 2017 dan September 2018 berada pada sifat hujan normal dengan presentase 101% dan 88%. Peningkatan jumlah curah hujan bulan Agustus 2017 ke September 2017 tidak signifikan yaitu sebesar 27 mm dibandingkan Agustus 2018 ke September 2018 yang signifikan yaitu sebesar 148 mm. Jumlah hari hujan di bulan September 2017 dan 2018 berturut-turut sebesar 24 dan 23 yang menunjukkan bahwa hampir setiap hari terjadi hujan di bulan-bulan tersebut. Analisis secara meteorologis menunjukkan bahwa terdapat aktivitas pertumbuhan awan konvektif di daerah Padang yang ditandai dengan tingkat stabilitas atmosfer yang labil sehingga berpotensi terjadinya hujan sedang hingga lebat.</p>

Abstrak Makanan merupakan salah satu cara untuk meningkatkan Pariwisata di suatu daerah.  Banyak wisatawan yang datang ke suatu daerah karena ingin mencoba makanan khas dari daerah tersebut.  Indonesia kaya akan makanan khas dari tiap daerah, salah satunya adalah Tauco. Tauco merupakan ikonik dari Kota Cianjur. Tauco adalah makanan berfermentasi yang berfungsi sebagai bumbu dalam masakan.  Dengan seiring jaman, bangsa Cina yang tinggal dan menetap mulai memperkenalkan Tauco kepada masyarakat setempat.  Tetapi karena rasa asli Tauco kurang digemari oleh masyarakat setempat, maka rasa Tauco mulai mengalami perubahan untuk menyesuaikan dengan rasa yang dikenal oleh masyarakat setempat.  Perlu untuk mengetahui jejak sejarah dari tiap makanan tradisional agar kita dapat menjaga dan melestarikan serta memperkenalkan ke dunia luar. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui sejarah dari Tauco, cara pembuatan tauco dan bagaimana eksistesinya saat ini.  Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dan melakukan pengumpulan data dengan cara wawancara, kuisioner dan studi literatur.  Nara sumber adalah pemilik pabrik tauco yang merupakan keturunan keempat dari generasinya dan pemilik rumah makan yang sudah berkecimpung di dunia restoran selama 68 tahun. Sedangkan untuk responden kuisioner didapatkan 100 orang yang berasal dari berbagai kota.  Hasil dari penelitian ini didapatkan bahwa Tauco dibawa pertama kali ke kota Cianjur oleh bangsa Tiongkok (China) pada masa penjajahan Belanda yang kemudian berasimilasi dengan rasa lokal sehingga dapat diterima dan disenangi oleh masyarakat. Cara pembuatan masih menggunakan cara tradisional, terutama proses pengeringan yang masih menggunakan sinar matahari, menggunakan kendi tanah liat yang sudah berumur ratusan tahun dan cara pemasakan yang manggunakan kayu bakar.  Sedangkan eksistensi tauco sampai saat ini masih banyak berada di generasi tua.  Karenanya disarankan untuk lebih memperkenalkan masakan tradisional seperti tauco kepada generasi muda, bisa melalui seminar atau pengetahuan tambahan yang diberikan di sekolah.  Agar generasi muda dapat mengenal, menyukai dan ikut menjaga masakan khas daerahnya. Keyword : Tauco, Makanan Khas, Asimilasi  Abstract Food is one way to increase tourism. Because sometimes tourists come to specific area because they want to try special foods from that area. Indonesia is rich in specialties from each region, one of which is Tauco. Tauco is an iconic of Cianjur. Tauco is a fermented food that serves as a spice in cooking. Derived from soybeans through a long process because it still uses the traditional method so that it becomes a cooking spice that can be used to cook various kinds of food ingredients such as fish, vegetables, chicken, and many more. The purpose of this research is to know the history of Tauco, how to make tauco and how it exists today. The research method used is qualitative and performs data collection by interviews, questionnaires and literature studies. The resource person is a tauco factory owner who is the fourth descendant of his generation and a restaurant owner who has been in the restaurant world for 68 years. Meanwhile, for the questionnaire respondents, it was found that 100 people came from various cities. The results of this study found that Tauco was first brought to the city of Cianjur by the Chinese during the Dutch colonial period which then assimilated it with a local taste so that it could be accepted and liked by the community. The manufacturing method still uses traditional methods, especially the drying process which still uses sunlight, using a clay jug that is hundreds of years old and the cooking method using firewood. Meanwhile, the existence of tauco is still in the older generation. Therefore, it is advisable to introduce more traditional dishes such as tauco to the younger generation, through seminars or additional knowledge given at school. In the crowded cities of the present age, public spaces can provide a quiet area away from the hustle and bustle of the city that citizens can interact with by incorporating utility features and meeting human needs and Relax there. Small urban spaces are among the most important and effective urban spaces to achieve this goal. Because these spaces due to their small size and lower costs (compared to larger spaces) for construction can be created in large numbers and distributed throughout the city. In this way, citizens will be able to reach a public urban space on foot in a short time. If these spaces are well designed, they can encourage people to stay in and interact with each other. It is not difficult to identify and experience high-quality successful places, but identifying the reasons for their success is difficult and even more difficult, understanding if similar spaces in other places can be considered successful. This question is important because public space with deep social content is considered a cultural product. Public space is the product of the historical and socio-cultural forces of society. Therefore, one of the most important issues that should be considered in the study of public spaces and the reasons for their success is the cultural context. In Iranian cities that have been influenced by the values and principles of Islam,recognizing Islamic principles and their role in shaping public spaces can lead us to desirable results. The purpose of this article is to develop a conceptual model of successful small urban spaces with an emphasis on cultural issues, especially in Iranian-Islamic cities. In this regard, the effective criteria for the success of urban spaces in general and small urban spaces in particular in the two categories of Western countries and Iranian Islamic cities were examined and then, taking into account the criteria derived from cultural theorists, the conceptual model of research with 38 subcriteria is provided.
