The Cemetery of the Porte Sante in Florence is located on San Miniato al Monte, one of the highest hills of the city. The cemetery was built in 1854 and it has always been characterized by a monumental nature. Since the end of 1800 the excavated burials were enriched with decorations, and other areas were dedicated to the creation of chapels and mausoleum made by the most famous architects of the time. Today the cemetery is not well preserved: many tombs are abandoned and there is a general need of restoration. During the Diagnostics Laboratory of the Specialization School of the University of Florence, many studies on the major chapels of the cemetery have been carried out. In this paper is presented the survey and the analysis on the state of decay of the Bogliaco Bartolani Chapel, projected in 1913 by Architect Enrico Dante Fantappiè, an Italian master of Eclecticism. This chapel is a very interesting example of the style, in which stands out the juxtaposition and contrast of different materials and crafts. The studies on the chapel follows a line that go from an initial photographic and metric survey, to a bibliographic and archive research work and finally to an examination of the decay phenomena on the exterior façades. The final phase will be a comparison between this tomb and another example of chapel by Fantappiè, located in the same cemetery: similar construction design leads to similar state of decay. Moreover the workflow presented could be an interesting example of how studies can be carried out with reduced expenses in case of a very low budget. In the cemetery public and private properties (often dispersed) are converging: pushing the boundaries of proprieties is crucial to carry out a policy of recovery of one of the monumental hills of Florence.

Abstract Amendment to the Act on special rules of preparation and implementation of investment in public roads resulted in an accelerated mode of acquisition of land for the development of roads. The decision to authorize the execution of road investment issued on its basis has several effects, i.e. determines the location of a road, approves surveying division, approves construction design and also results in acquisition of a real property by virtue of law by the State Treasury or local government unit, among others. The conducted study revealed that over 3 years, in this mode, the city of Krakow has acquired 31 hectares of land intended for the implementation of road investments. Compensation is determined in separate proceedings based on an appraisal study estimating property value, often at a distant time after the loss of land by the owner. One reason for the lengthy compensation proceedings is challenging the proposed amount of compensation, unregulated legal status of the property as well as imprecise legislation. It is important to properly develop geodetic and legal documentation which accompanies the application for issuance of the decision and is also used in compensation proceedings.

The study is focused on the legal regulation of state support for the creation of innovative medicinal products. Establishment of the measures of state support for scientific research for creating innovative medicinal products within legislative acts and by-laws should help to increase the competitiveness of the pharmaceutical industry in Ukraine. The government declares the provision of support for scientific research in the field of creating innovative medicinal products. The legislation establishes the conditions for registering an innovative project, provides the maintenance of the Register of scientific institutions that received the state support. A detailed characteristic of the existing means of the state support for scientific research in the pharmaceutical industry is provided. The state supports innovations by establishing tax incentives for research institutions and providing funding for some innovative projects. Support for innovations is carried out by the State Innovative Financial and Credit Institution, the National Research Fund of Ukraine and the Innovation Development Fund. Funding for the creation of innovative medicinal products can be realized through public and private partnership. The scholars have declared their propositions regarding the introduction of specific measures of the state support for innovations in the field of creating new medicinal products. It has been offered to amend the current legislation on the issues of state funding of scientific research in the sphere of developing new medicinal products. It is necessary to delineate the competence of various funds for promoting innovations in relation to supporting innovations in the field of pharmacia. It is important that the law should provide the procedure and conditions for supporting public and private partnership projects at the expenses of funds for promoting innovations.

Resumo:  A educação inclusiva é conhecida como uma forma de trabalhar com crianças com necessidades especiais no ambiente escolar. Vista de forma mais ampla, ela tem o papel de acolher a diversidade e dar assistência a todos os estudantes, pois o objetivo da inclusão educacional é acabar com a exclusão social. O trabalho de pesquisa tem como objetivo avaliar as dificuldades encontradas pelos professores apoiadores das salas de aula, saber qual o suporte e formação que recebe para atuar. Além disso, a pesquisa possibilita compreender a realidade da inclusão a partir de redes de ensino diferentes, a pública e a privada. A metodologia aplicada incluiu dados da observação da sala de aula no intuito de narrar e analisar o cotidiano do “professor apoiador escolar”. O trabalho foi realizado na Cidade de Salgueiro/PE, e em Umãs/PE, com apoiadores escolares de três escolas, os participantes foram apoiadores escolhidos em turmas aleatórias, em um total de 10 apoiadores de sala de aula.---Inclusive education is known as a way of working with children with special needs in the school environment. Viewed more broadly, it has the role of welcoming diversity and providing assistance to all students, as the objective of educational inclusion is to end social exclusion. The research work aims to assess the difficulties encountered by supportive teachers in the classroom, to know what support and training they receive to act. In addition, the research makes it possible to understand the reality of inclusion from different educational networks, public and private. The methodology applied included data from classroom observation in order to narrate and analyze the daily life of the “supporting school teacher”. The work was carried out in the City of Salgueiro/PE, and in Umãs/PE, with school supporters from three schools, the participants were supporters chosen in random groups, in a total of 10 classroom supporters.

Abstract. The city walls of Florence constitute a complex system: six circles and at least nine distinct phases of use and transformation, from the foundation of Florentia to Florence Capital, to contemporary adjustments. The DIDA, Department of Architecture of the University of Florence with the Municipality of Florence, has been carrying out since 2012 the FIMU project with the study of the various walls circuits and diachronic surveys of the surviving wall sections. The aim is to combine and harmonize the historical data with technical-scientific innovation, expressing its own vision of the relationship between the history of the city of Florence and the correct valorization of one of its important Landmark. Every citizen must be able to recognize in the traces of the past his belonging to a community, the results expected from this research are the realization of an informative-didactic and informative apparatus that will emphasize this important historical testimony of Florence and its transformations occurred over the centuries. Data acquisition, processing and visualization methods define this research as ‘experimental’ for the knowledge and evolution of a historic city that would contribute to elevating services for the technical scientific community and the citizen, to which data would become available currently ‘raw’ with the preparation of an apparatus based on a database through the ‘Open Data’ platform of the Municipality of Florence.

A model developed at the University of Tomsk, Russia, for high latitudes (over 55° N) is proposed and applied to the analysis and observation of the solar resource in the state of Sonora in the northwest of Mexico. This model utilizes satellite data and geographical coordinates as inputs. The objective of this research work is to provide a low-cost and reliable alternative to field meteorological stations and also to obtain a wide illustration of the distribution of solar power in the state to visualize opportunities for sustainable energy production and reduce its carbon footprint. The model is compared against real-time data from meteorological stations and satellite data, using statistical methods to scrutinize its accuracy at local latitudes (26–32° N), where a satisfactory performance was observed. An annual geographical view of available solar radiation against maximum and minimum temperatures for all the state municipalities is provided to identify the photovoltaic electricity generation potential. The outcomes are proof that the model is economically viable and could be employed by local governments to plan solar harvesting strategies. The results are generated from an open source model that allows calculating the available solar radiation over specific land areas, and the application potential for future planning of solar energy projects is evident.

ResumenEl propósito principal de este trabajo de investigación se centra en el estudio del estado de conservación de las fachadas de 34 inmuebles pertenecientes al Catálogo de Bienes Inmuebles y Elementos Protegidos del Plan General del Ayuntamiento de Cieza (Murcia), concretamente de aquellos situados en el casco urbano, para aportar directrices que garanticen una intervención con materiales sostenibles coherente y respetuosa con el patrimonio arquitectónico de la ciudad. Evidentemente, un desarrollo correcto del estudio diagnóstico constructivo de las fachadas de inmuebles protegidos debe llevarse a cabo en 2 fases: la caracterización constructiva de la arquitectura de sus fachadas y el estudio de lesiones o estado actual que presentan las mismas. Tras analizar los 34 inmuebles se establece una metodología y un modelo sistemático para la documentación del grado de deterioro que presentan las fachadas de los inmuebles del Catálogo de la ciudad. Destacamos que los resultados de materiales propuestos en las fachadas dan unos niveles de deterioro “bajo” o “muy bajo” en el 70 % de los casos analizados, corroborándose el buen estado general de las mismas.AbstractThe main intention of this research work focus interest on the 34 building’s facade from the state of preservation belonging a Municipalities Heritage Catalogue of Cieza's Town (Murcia), it specifically those that located in the urban area from to comply with the guidelines established by sustainable materials coherent and respectful with the architectural heritage of the city. Evidently, a correct development of the diagnostic constructive study of the 34 building’s facade must be carried out in 2 phases: the constructive characterization of the architecture of his building’s facade and the study of the state of conservation or current condition that the same ones present. After analyzing 34 building’s facade methodology and a systematic model it establish for the documentation of a Municipalities Heritage Catalogue of Cieza's Town of the city. We emphasize that the results of proposed materials building’s facade give a few levels of low or very low deterioration in 70 % of the analyzed cases, there being corroborated the good general condition of the same ones.

On 7 November 1921, the new Institute of Physics of the Royal Institute of Higher, Practical and Advanced Studies of Florence was inaugurated in Arcetri. Three years later, with the establishment of the University of Florence, the Degree Course in Physics would start: as such an adventure in research and scientific training began, which would take us to the present day. To mark the centenary of the inauguration of the Institute of Physics in Arcetri, the book takes the opportunity to retrace a part of those years. The period chosen ranged from the arrival of Garbasso in 1913 to the end of the 1960s. The book contains a first part, documenting the history of the Institute of Physics during the above mentioned years. This is followed by a second part, outlining the biographies of some of the protagonists of that history. In the final part, there is an index of the holders of the courses of Physics and Astronomy in Florence from 1876 to 1969. This landscape is the result of research work conducted in the University’s Historical Archives of the University.

Professor August Rauber (1841–1917) created the most important school of anatomy in the Baltic region. His students continued his educational and research work in their native countries. One of them was Professor Jurgis Žilinskas (1885–1957) who laid the foundation to Lithuanian anatomy and anthropology. From 1906–1912, he studied medicine at the University of Yuryev (Tartu) where Prof. A. Rauber worked for 25 years as Head of the Institute of Anatomy. In 1890, A. Rauber opened the Anatomy Museum there. In the university, J. Žilinskas maintained close contacts with Professors A. Rauber (1841–1917), N. N. Burdenko (1876–1946), W. Zoege-Manteuffel (1857–1926) and E. Landau (1878–1959). After graduation from the university, J. Žilinskas as a talented student was invited to work as an assistant at the Department of Hospital Surgery at Yuryev University. After Lithuania restored its independence on 16 February 1918, Prof. J. Žilinskas participated actively in the organization of medical studies in Lithuania (1922–1940) and was one of the creators and the principal patron of the Museum of Anatomy. Returning to Lithuania, J. Žilinskas brought along the most advanced ideas of his professors, especially of his honoured Prof. A. Rauber. During this period, the collection of the museum increased to 3,890 specimens. Osteological specimens comprised 1,925 (around 50%) of the specimens, wet specimens – 753 (19.3%), corrosion specimens – 467 (12%), transparent specimens – 201 (5.2%), dry specimens – 107 (2.8%) and models – 437. Professor J. Žilinskas’ collection constitutes 50% of the present exhibits at the Anatomy Museum of the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences.

This paper describes the creation of Florida Universitaria CRAI’s Catálogo de la mujer. Florida is an educational cooperative set up in the region of Valencia in the 1970s, a time when many projects were launched in an attempt to change and modernize approaches to teaching. Since its inception, the values that have underpinned its work have been a management style based on democratic practices, secularism, the promotion of the Valencian language and coeducation, and the application of the Mondragón business model. These values have also shaped the creation of the bibliographical archives belonging to the CRAI-Bibilioteca and the rest of the cooperative’s libraries. Since the first professional training programmes in 1977-1978, the cooperative has adapted the courses on offer to the needs of its public (and also in line with its budget). Florida Universitària came into being in the early 1990s, as an associated centre attached to the Valencia’s two main universities (the University of Valencia and the Polytechnic University). Finally, the language centre was founded in 1994. La Florida is based in Catarroja, a town in the Horta Sud of Valencia, where secondary school studies, language teaching and university courses are taught at three different sites. These centres were created at different stages of the cooperative’s history, building on the original secondary school and expanding to cover the teaching needs of a group of villages located some way away from the city, and responding to the rising demands of the area’s industrial sector.

The upgrading of riverfronts is a theme that has long played a central role in the renewal programs of large, medium and small cities throughout Europe. The case study presented in this paper is Florence, whose Roman origins and development, from the Middle Ages to today, are closely linked to the Arno River, which runs from east to west. After briefly reviewing some salient moments in the history of the relationship between the city and the river, the paper illustrates some research and projects carried out within the Department of Architecture of the University of Florence, focused on the role that Arno can still play in the future of the Florentine metropolitan area, as a catalyst for interventions aimed at improving urban sustainability, livability and resilience to climate change.
