Lack of land, transportation costs, environmental hazards, loss of valuable components contribute to the use of new methods for recycling. Therefore, the main objective of the work is to develop a methodology for calculating the environmental and economic efficiency of waste treatment technologies. In the work, economic efficiency was defined as the difference between the profit and costs associated with the implementation and implementation of this technology. The basis of the study, the authors took organic waste farms. As a processing technology, multiphase anaerobic fermentation was taken. It is established that the use of this technology contributes to the production of environmentally friendly bio-fertilizers, biologically active solution and biogas. It is determined that the submitted projects are cost-effective. Because it helps to reduce payments for waste disposal and prevent damage to the environment. Also, the use of biomass energy in the agro-industrial complex will provide an additional source of energy based on local renewable raw materials, concentrated organic fertilizers, bioactive solution.

The article shows the importance of high-tech organic fertilizers of the new generation on the example of multi–purpose compost in the maintenance and reproduction of soil fertility. With increasing degradation of the soil cover of arable land, such fertilizers in combination with other means of farming systems with bio meliorative properties (perennial grasses, green manures, phytomeliorants), intensively activating soil microflora, affecting agrochemical and water–physical properties, can quickly restore and optimize the basis of fertility — soil organic matter. Therefore, in modern agriculture in the last 15–20 years, preference is given to the production of non-traditional high-tech biologically active and environmentally friendly organic fertilizers (composts) obtained by the method of bioconversion of organic raw materials. In the model experiment, the effect of multi-purpose compost, introduced at a dose of 15 t/ha, on the basic water–physical properties at different water regimes of dried gleyed loamy sod-podzolic soil was determined. The experience was laid in special vessels equipped with water regulating device. Studies have shown that multi-purpose compost at a dose of 15 t/ha by the fifth year after application, primarily affected the soil density of the arable layer, as well as porosity, moisture capacity, the amount of water readily available to plants, water permeability. So, with bilateral regulation of the water regime, the decrease in density was 5.8%. This, in turn, affected the increase in soil porosity to 4.8–5.2% and an increase in the reserves of productive moisture in the arable horizon. Thus, fertilizers obtained on the basis of the bioconversion of organic raw materials can improve soil indicators and help prevent degradation processes in agriculture.

The study focuses on assessing the potential and economic efficiency of reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from organic solid waste treatment technologies, including: Non-recovery landfill, landfill and gas recovery for power generation (applied in Nam Son disposal site) and composting (applied in Cau Dien disposal site) in Hanoi. Research results illustrate that, the treatment of 1 ton of organic domestic waste by landfill without gas recovery and landfill with gas recovery need to cover losses about $14.2 USD and $0.9 USD, respectively. While application of composting technology makes a profit about $5.1 USD. Composting had the potential to significantly reduce GHG emissions and used the product after the treatment in commerce to have capital for reinvestment but it was also planned by Hanoi People’s Committee for waste treatment in the future. However, the roadmap for converting to composting technology should be implemented from 2030.

The radical change in the quality of the processed meat raw materials, which does not meet the standards, calls for the necessity to apply biotechnology methods in order to improve the quality and obtain high nutritional and biological value of manufactured products in compliance with the requirements set for functional food. The use of starter cultures to perform biomodification of cattle by-products makes it possible to provide the rationale for the use of low-value secondary meat raw materials in order to expand the manufacturing range and increase the economic efficiency of meat-processing plants. This article aims to, first, review the approaches towards the development of new forms of biologically complete and environmentally safe sources of raw materials to increase the economic efficiency and reduce costs at meat-processing plants of the agro-industrial complex of the Central Black Earth region and, second, to substantiate the selection and purposefully apply bifidobacteria as part of the consortium for biotransformation of proteins of the rumen of farm animals. As a result of the research, the technology of rumen modification was suggested aimed at its further use as part of meat products, primarily, minced convenience meat products. The article data can be used to develop manufacturing formulas at meat-processing plants and also be useful for process engineers and scientists working in the food industry.

Abstract The demand for organic fertilizers in Indonesia is currently in a critical state. In 2015, it was noticed that the demand of Indonesia for NPK fertilizers reached over 6.5 million tons per year. Given the current state of demand for organic fertilizers in Indonesia, it is imperative to have alternative organic fertilizers that are environmentally friendly and readily available raw materials. One alternative is to use biogas waste that contains essential plant-based nutrients such as NPK (nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium) and additional nutrients such as magnesium (Mg), calcium (Ca) and sulfur (S). The composition of Bio-Slurry after fermentation consists of 25% ± 5 dry matter and 75% ± 5 water. If the dry substance is decomposed, it contains 18- 27% organic matter. The production of liquid organic fertilizers from BioSlurry requires some anaerobic fermentation process lasting 20 days. During the fermentation process it is necessary to additional raw materials such as cow urine, banana stalk and banana peel to add the N, P and K values to BioSlurry. In the initial characterization test, BioSlurry liquid (after pressing) showed an NPK value of <1% and a C-Organic value of 0.04.

The health benefits of fermented functional products are expressed directly, through the interaction of living microorganisms that have entered the body together with food or biologically active additives (probiotic effect), or indirectly, as a result of consumption of microbial metabolites synthesized during fermentation (biogenic effect). A number of studies are devoted to the potential of the fermentation process to create cost-effective food production with new functional and consumer properties. The presence of a sufficient amount of nutrients (mainly sugars) in the substrate plays a crucial role in the development of lactic acid microorganisms during fermentation. In this regard, the dynamics of glucose and fructose concentrations were investigated as a result of directed carbohydrate adjustment of the substrate prepared from white cabbage of the Parus variety. It has been established that the consortium of lactic acid microorganisms of the species L. casei and L. plantarum is optimal from the point of view of the destruction of sugars. It has been experimentally established that only this consortium satisfies the condition of stable synergy between the species of microorganisms included in it during the main stage of fermentation, subject to carbohydrate adjustment of raw materials. It is advisable to use the process of carbohydrate correction in the development of technology for directed fermentation of vegetable raw materials.

ProducƟon efficiency characterizes the effecƟveness of producƟon. This category shows the increase in producƟon volumes and at what price for the products and what costs of resources for the producƟon of these products this increase is achieved, that is, it indicates the quality of economic growth. To determine the economic efficiency of producƟon, it is necessary to study the results of producƟon and sales acƟviƟes, to analyze expenses, sales prices, cost and profitability. The milk market is part of the structure of the food market of any country. The state of the country’s economy, its food security, the standard of living and health of the populaƟon depend on its development. Such factors as a constant and unpredictable change in the economic situaƟon in the country, changes in legislaƟon, inadequate state regulaƟon of producƟon and sales of products, poor quality of raw materials and auxiliary materials, lack of moƟvaƟonal levers, a decline in the populaƟon’s income, reducƟon in the animal feed base and high-quality livestock influence the milk market. The pricing situaƟon on the milk market in Ukraine, the producƟvity of cows and the costs of producing the milk are considered to evaluate the effecƟveness of milk producƟon. A method is proposed for calculaƟng a variable assessment of the economic efficiency of milk producƟon depending on costs, cow producƟvity and selling prices in an unstable market, which takes into account the possible market situaƟon, milk producƟon technologies, price factors, opƟmisƟc and pessimisƟc condiƟons for the development of the industry. Variable calculaƟons of the break-even price of milk sales have been carried out depending on the producƟvity of cows, producƟon costs and the projected market condiƟons for milk. The proposed methodological approaches enable the government of the agro-industrial complex to monitor the livestock producƟon market and develop sound strategies to support agricultural producers, taking into account tax policies, internal and external condiƟons in food markets.
