A measurement scale is described as a contribution to the field of ICT  (information and communications technology) integration in a particular set of dimensions partially explored in the scientific literature. The institutional conditions for ICT integration has been recently studied as determinant for successful educational innovation. This work describes four dimensions that are necessary to understand those institutional conditions: technology leadership, management of innovation with ICT, and the appropriation of ICT policies at institutional and individual levels. The principal contribution of this work is to provide a valid and reliable scale (α=.96) with metric properties that are useful for researchers on ICT in education. Confirmatory factor analysis demonstrates the grouping of the items in the proposed subscales and their relevance to understand the institutional condition for ICT innovation. The scale allows the institutional diagnosis in relation to the conditions that are decisive for the successful integration of ICT as support for educational innovation processes.

Research in international marketing has long shown that foreign firms face disadvantages when operating abroad from a lack of familiarity with the local institutional environment. To cope with this familiarity, some companies have developed a culture in the ability to understand and take into account the institutional dimensions of the destination market. This article thus aims to explore the institutional orientation of firms and tests its impact on export performance. In Study 1, we develop and validate a 12-item measurement scale divided into four dimensions. In Study 2, we investigate the role of institutional orientation in export performance using a sample of 273 French and Tunisian exporting companies. The results show that this relationship is not direct but is mediated by export commitment.

The new technologies of information and communication have opened up new possibilities for training in the field of manufacturing engineering. Information and communications technology contribute to flexible process of teaching and learning thanks to the ease of creating, processing and dissemination of content. They are also an opportunity to improve new learning environments, closer to actual production contexts. But to achieve an efficient process of learning, methodologies (that are based on ICT) should be adapted to the students’ characteristics, the contents and the context. This paper aims to design a model of teaching and learning from educational innovation with the use of information technologies applied to training Manufacturing Engineer using mobile devices as a teaching resource. The tool will be designed to self-education situated in learning contexts and incorporates different instructional strategies for student learning and teacher monitoring.

Resumen:Actualmente es visible la necesidad de una renovación metodológica, de reformar el sistema educativo centrado en la enseñanza del profesor, para conseguir un modelo centrado en el aprendizaje activo del alumnado. Para realizar esta difícil transición metodológica numerosos estudios apuestan por el uso de las metodologías activas. Este trabajo, inscrito en el marco de un Proyecto de Innovación Educativa de la Universidad del País Vasco (UPV/EHU), tiene como objetivo determinar la efectividad y validez de varias de estas técnicas cooperativas, implementadas en distintas materias, cursos y especialidades en la Facultad de Educación y Deporte de Vitoria-Gasteiz, partiendo del análisis de las valoraciones que sobre ellas ha realizado el alumnado. Los resultados, recogidos a través de cuestionarios, apuntan a una excelente aceptación de las técnicas empleadas por parte del alumnado; constatando su efectividad en el desarrollo del aprendizaje activo y cooperativo y confirmando la importancia de la selección de cada técnica en función de los objetivos docentes, así como su modificación y adecuación a estos y al grupo o asignatura en el que se implementa. Abstract:Currently is visible the need for a methodological renewal, that is, the need for a reform of the education system focused on teacher education, for a model focused on active learning of students. To perform this difficult methodological transition, numerous studies opt for the use of active methodologies. This work, written in the framework of an Educational Innovation Project of the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU), aims to determine the effectiveness and validity of several cooperative techniques, implemented in different subjects, courses and specialties in the Faculty of Education and Sports of Vitoria-Gasteiz, starting from the analysis of the assessments about the techniques made by students. The results, collected through questionnaires, point to an excellent acceptance of the techniques used by the students; confirming its effectiveness in the development of active and cooperative learning, and confirming the importance of the selection of each technique according to the teaching objectives, as well as its modification and adaptation to these and to the group or subject in which it was implemented.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to explore the development of innovation capability construct measures in the context of supply chain and to objectively identify the key dimensions for stimulating focal firms’ innovativeness. Design/methodology/approach The scale items for this research were obtained from extant literature. The data were collected from homogenous sample of 117 Ghanaian middle level managers (respondents). Exploratory factor analysis was used to identify the main dimensions of innovation capability. Based on the statistical analysis, four dimensions were obtained – idea management, idea implementation, collaboration and learning – and the convergent validity, discriminant validity, nomological validity and reliability tests indicate that the scales are valid and reliable Findings Four dimensions (factors) of innovation capability were identified from the exploratory factor analysis. These dimensions were labelled as idea management, idea implementation, collaboration and learning. The results indicate that the integration of the dimensions of innovation capability may stimulate a focal firm’s innovativeness. Research limitations/implications First, the measurement scale might not capture all the important dimensions of innovation capability. Second, the judgmental sampling used in this study means that the result cannot be generalised to the entire supply chain population, third, the sample was drawn from one geographical location using non-probability sampling technique. Practical implications The measures provide supply chain managers with a better approach of understanding the innovation capability in their supply chain. For instance, the measurement of supply chain’s innovation capability should help supply chain managers to determine the important innovation areas that need attention most and to permit them to respond to challenges posed by any kind of innovation capability dimension that needs to be enhanced. Originality/value The unique contribution of this paper is the development innovation capability measurement scale in the context of supply chain.

Purpose Employee work adjustment (EWA) represents the ability of individuals to adjust effectively to working conditions, supervisors, the environment and their peers. To deal with work adjustment in different environments, companies need to both understand and continually assess their employees. The purpose of this paper is to develop an instrument to measure EWA for small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Thailand. Design/methodology/approach The study was conducted in three stages to develop a measurement scale for EWA. First, 18 questions were developed as a questionnaire based on concepts and theories of EWA and validated using exploratory factor analysis (EFA) into four dimensions such as work, supervisor, environment and peer adjustments. Then, a survey was conducted for 360 new employees in SMEs. Finally, confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) and convergent validity were tested along the four adjustment dimensions. Findings This research extended and broadened the EWA concept to provide theoretical support for the adjustment of intelligence research. Four dimensions were developed to measure EWA including aspects of work, supervisor, environment and peer. Research limitations/implications The EWA model was examined using EFA and CFA only. Questionnaire results suggested that concrete constructs were stronger because of single-source, self-assessed data collection as the sample included only employees of SMEs in high-growth sectors of Thailand. EWA findings exhibited a good fit but results require further future refinement and validation using a larger sample size and sampling area. Practical implications The EWA questionnaire has practical use regarding management behaviour and can assist companies and practitioners to better understand the required adjustments for new employees at start-up. This knowledge will help managers to encourage and support newcomers to work better and deliver effective results. Managers and practitioners can develop and hone work adjustment practices for new recruits according to the four dimensions proposed here. Originality/value The validity of this EWA questionnaire will facilitate the future study on boundaries with EWA measurements spanning SMEs contexts. Empirical research results verified that EWA assessment offered new perspectives to explore vital individual work adjustments that are necessary for new recruits to succeed. This instrumental support will help researchers to effectively understand EWA and explore its potential in future studies.

This article contributes in three ways to our understanding of public service motivation (PSM) and its effects. In the first place, it applies an abridged version of Perry's measurement scale in the Dutch public sector. Although the results of the analysis show that PSM is a valid concept in this context, doubts arise as to whether one should use the same four dimensions as in the USA. Second, the analysis shows that — contrary to expectations — PSM is of equal importance in the segments of the Dutch public sector that were investigated. Third, the effect of PSM on three performance-related behavioural outcome variables (commitment, willingness to exert effort and perceived job performance) is analysed. In addition to PSM, a measurement of PSM fit is included. The hypothesis that PSM fit mediates the relationship between PSM and the outcome variables is rejected. In practice, it appears that both PSM and PSM fit have independent effects on these outcome variables. Points for practitioners Public organizations have to attract people who are motivated to work for the sector. In the Netherlands, the Ministry of the Interior is running a recruitment campaign to achieve this. This article shows the value of this strategy as workers with such a motivation (`public service motivation' or PSM) are more committed to the organization, more willing to exert effort and have a higher perception of their performance. Probably this will reflect in better public service delivery. However, the article also shows that recruiting PSM-oriented workers is not enough. It is also important that workers will be able to really `use' their PSM in their work. If not, they will become frustrated, which in the end will have adverse effects for the quality of public service delivery.

En esta investigación el objectivo es observar la situación de la Educación Física (EF) como disciplina mediante una indagación basada en la experiencia y los conocimientos de los profesionales en activo. Se aplica un cuestionario ad hoc a 36 profesionales en activo (maestros especialistas en EF) que participan en el prácticum de la mención del alumnado de 4º curso del grado de maestro/a de Primaria para que manifiesten los problemas reales de enseñanza, así como la importancia y el impacto social que tiene la EF como materia educativa. Se pretende también compartir diferentes puntos de vista de los profesionales para hacer propuestas para mejorar la formación de los profesionales de EF. Como conclusiones del estudio, se observa que la mayoría optan por la motivación como factor y condición que promueve el éxito de la EF como materia curricular y creen que se debería potenciar el trabajo cooperativo. Las características más valoradas de los profesores y profesoras de EF son: saber trabajar en equipo EF y la utilización de proyectos de innovación educativa, flexibles y adaptados al contexto, lo que supone un aprendizaje significativo. Los profesionales consideran que se debe potenciar la motricidad aplicando metodologías activas, dinámicas y reflexivas y dan mucha importancia al aprendizaje continuo. Por tanto, se proponen cursos de formación y la realización de intercambios de experiencias.Abstract. The present study holds the objective to observe the current state of Physical Education (PE) as a discipline through research based on the experience and the knowledge of active professionals. An ad-hoc questionnaire was completed by 36 active professionals (specialist teachers in PE) who participate in the practicum of majors of PE in the 4th year of Primary Education Bachelor. The instrument intends to bring to light the real problems of teaching, as well as the importance and the social impact that PE has as an educational subject. It also aims to share different points of view of active professionals and make proposals to improve the training of PE professionals. As conclusions of the study, most consider motivation as a factor and condition to promote the success of PE as a curricular subject and believe that cooperative work should be encouraged. The most valued characteristics of PE teachers are: knowing how to work as a PE team and the use of educational innovation projects that are flexible and adapt to the context, resulting in significant learning. Professionals consider that motor skills should be enhanced by applying active, dynamic and reflective methodologies and give great importance to ongoing learning. Therefore, proposals include training courses and exchanges of experiences.

This article is part of the result of a doctoral research, the objective of which is to verify the applicability and effectiveness of flamenco as a tool for socio-educational intervention. The text shows the research work carried out on the application of flamenco in the educational field. Experiences that have taken place in different formal and non-formal educational spaces in Andalusia are detailed. The results obtained shed light on the multiple possibilities of flamenco as a tool applied to a successful educational innovation. El presente artículo es parte del resultado de una investigación doctoral, cuyo objetivo es comprobar la aplicabilidad y efectividad del flamenco como herramienta de intervención socioeducativa. En el texto se muestra el trabajo de investigación realizado sobre la aplicación del flamenco en el ámbito educativo. Se detallan experiencias que han tenido lugar en diferentes espacios educativos formales y no formales de Andalucía. Los resultados obtenidos, arrojan luz sobre las múltiples posibilidades del flamenco como herramienta aplicada a una innovación educativa de éxito.

Resumen:Saber gestionar la información es fundamental para la inclusión en la sociedad del conocimiento. La formación de docentes del siglo XXI debe contemplar, por tanto, esta competencia en los planes de estudio de los grados de maestro, por lo que resulta fundamental diseñar, experimentar y evaluar estrategias dirigidas a su adquisición. Se presenta una experiencia dirigida a la adquisición de la competencia informacional en el marco de la asignatura “Tics aplicadas a la educación primaria” de la Universidad de las Islas Baleares (UIB) mediante la propuesta de estrategias didácticas dirigidas a la mejora del acceso, uso y curación de la información desde una perspectiva tecnológica y colaborativa. El objetivo es identificar acciones consideradas como factores condicionantes de la propuesta de estrategias didácticas que puedan contribuir a lograr como resultado la adquisición de la competencia informacional a partir de propuestas innovadoras. Mediante una metodología de tipo exploratorio y siguiendo las fases del modelo IPECC para la gestión de proyectos se consigue obtener información sobre la forma en que los estudiantes gestionan la información, transfieren conocimiento y comparten documentación. También se analiza el uso de gestores bibliográficos y la percepción de los estudiantes respecto a su utilidad. Estos resultados se dirigen a mejorar la propuesta de estrategias didácticas para futuras intervenciones formativas dirigidas a la adquisición de la competencia informacional a partir de la propuesta de experiencias de innovación educativa identificando, para ello, aspectos a considerar respecto a la gestión de la información, la transferencia de conocimiento y la curación de contenidos. Abstract:Knowing how to manage information is crucial for each individual to be integrated into the knowledge society. Therefore, XXI century's teacher training should include this competency in the curricula of the degrees of pre-service teacher training, so it is essential to design, test and evaluate strategies for its acquisition. This work presents an experiment directed towards the acquisition of the information literacy within the framework of the course “ICTs applied to primary education” of the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB) through the proposal of didactic strategies aimed to improve the information access, use and curation from a technological and collaborative perspective. Building on innovative proposals, the objective is to identify the actions considered as determinants of the proposal of didactic strategies that could contribute to achieve the acquisition of the information literacy as an outcome. Information about how students manage information, transfer knowledge and share documentation is obtained through an exploratory methodology and following the phases of the IPECC model for project management. The use of reference managers and the perception of its usefulness by the students are also analysed. These results are directed towards aimed at the acquisition of information literacy based on the proposal of educational innovation experiences, by identifying the aspects to consider concerning information management, knowledge transfer and content curation.
