This article aims to discuss the growing influence that the business model has had on humans and their organizations, a consequence of a process called world's enterprisation. In this study, we opted for a look at the university, from the analysis of a specific discourse that, with the neoliberalism intensification, has been strongly disseminated: the discourse of the entrepreneurial university. From this perspective, sought to problematize how the enterprisation process has influenced the construction of the discourse of the entrepreneurial university at the Pelotas Federal University (UFPel), from the realization of a qualitative research, descriptive, which used the case study as a technique. The results from the analysis of the managers' perceptions and practices evidenced at UFPel, show that the entrepreneurial university discourse is based on different discursive practices that make constant reference to the enterprise knowledge-power. This practices reinforce the need to consolidate a flexible and efficient university (in enterprising terms), whose performance should foster innovation and economic development, by encouraging the creation of new businesses, new products or any solution that can transform knowledge into something that generates value.

This study is part of a broader research project, conducted by the Triple Helix Research Group – Brazil, focusing on university–industry– government linkages in the state of Rio de Janeiro. The case study reported here is that of the Regional University of Volta Redonda: the aim was to develop an understanding of how a regional university can be transformed into an entrepreneurial university, oriented towards assisting regional economic development. A theoretical framework was constructed using existing literature on regional development and the Triple Helix approach. The research objective was to determine the relevance and effects of university–industry collaboration from the perspective of local players. Two surveys were conducted, one with faculty members at the university and the other with representatives of companies located in the region. No cultural barriers to collaboration were revealed on either side of the relationship; and opportunities to improve a relationship that, in the past, has had little influence on economic development in the region were also identified.

This chapter proposes a new Supply Chain Business Model in the Education domain and demonstrates how Education as a Service (EaaS) can be delivered. The implementation at the University of Greenwich (UoG) is used as a case study. Cloud computing business models are classified into eight Business Models; this classification is essential to the development of EaaS. A pair of the Hexagon Models are used to review Cloud projects against success criteria; one Hexagon Model focuses on Business Model and the other on IT Services. The UoG case study demonstrates the added value offered by Supply Chain software deployed by private Cloud, where an Oracle suite and SAP supply chain can demonstrate supply chain distribution and is useful for teaching. The evaluation shows that students feel more motivated and can understand their coursework better.

On-campus retailing is a spread practice, but academia has almost underestimated its potential. Nevertheless, not every type of retail activity adds value to customers and society. When the proposed value is society-driven and sensitive to consumers' wellbeing, customers' engagement increases. One business model, through which it is possible to exploit the benefits of on-campus retailing by adding social value, is the Yunus Social Business. This is a case-based study aiming to describe, through the Social Business Model Canvas, the founding of an organic shop within a university that is supplied by administrative staff of the university that are at the same time also local farmers. Further, the shop aims to resell organic food to university staff and students. The case study is theoretically enriched by traditional Porterian frameworks and new service frameworks such as the service-dominant logic by emphasizing the role of value proposition, value co-creation, and value-in-context.

This work explores how data can influence the design of logotypes and how they can convey information. The authors use the University of Coimbra, in Portugal, as a case study to develop data-driven logotypes for its faculties and, subsequently, for its students. The proposed logotypes are influenced by the current number of students in each faculty, the number of male and female students, and the nationality of the students. The resulting logotypes are able to portray the diversity of students in each faculty. The authors also test this design approach in the creation of logotypes for the students according to their academic information, namely the course and number of credits done. The resulting logotypes are able to adapt to the current students, evolving over time with the departure of students and admission of new ones.

Evidence of ‘dissemination’ is now seen as part of research delivery by grant-giving bodies such as the ESRC and Joseph Rowntree Foundation. Drawing on the growing body of research into media sources (Manning 2001, Davis, 2000) and relating it to debates on the public sphere (Habermas 1989), the paper will ask what (if anything) researchers have to gain from involvement with the mass media and whether specialised help can assist in bringing social policy research from the margins into the mainstream of media discourse. It will look in particular at the special difficulties of disseminating ‘fuzzy’ qualitative research findings which do not lend themselves to obviously eye-catching headlines. The paper will draw on an ESRC funded experiment at the University of Leeds as a case study with which to explore these issues.

Objective - The purpose of the research is to explore, to investigate, and to develop a business model in Islamic perspective in microfinance BMT UGT Sidogiri Indonesia. Methodology/Technique - The research developed by qualitative research with a single case study. The content analysis used as the method to analyze the data describes analytic, intuitive, interpretative, textual and strict textual analysis approaches. Findings – The main finding that the framework Islamic business model in perspective Islam proposed previously can be well understanding and applied in BMT UGT Sidogiri. The result showed that there three main building in developing of an Islamic business model consist of the business foundation, business design, and business development. Novelty - The model can be used to optimize the potential business model of Islam in BMT UGT Sidogiri and other microfinance in Indonesia in the future. The development of tourism in Indonesia had entered a critical period, especially during the uncertain COVID-19 pandemic, which affected the tourism industry both economically and socio-culturally. Workers and stakeholders suffered as the multiplier effect of the COVID-19 outbreak. As preparation for dealing with these conditions, the tourism industry strove to adapt with a transformative business model for its sustainability. In this context, the research proposed a transformative business model for the tourism industry so that stakeholders had an adaptive and innovative frame of mind post-pandemic. The model pinpointed on personalization, closed loop, asset sharing, usage-based pricing, collaborative ecosystem, and agility as the key features. This qualitative research used case study that aimed to explore major aspects of an inspirational business model from various industries that have survived over the decades. The results describe applicable business patterns as a contribution to the tourism industry. It is suggested that tourism stakeholders focus more on developing innovative business strategies post-pandemic.

The present work aims to propose a model of knowledge management for agricultural teaching based on ontologies. Through identification of the business model, business processes, intellectual capital and ontologies, the relationships between each of the parts of the model are described, and the technological elements that support it are presented. From the point of view of knowledge management and ontologies, the model that guides the innovative university is developed, where Santa Lucía Campus of the Universidad Politécnica Territorial de Mérida (UPTM) is the case study. This model describes the elements that define the knowledge of an Agricultural Production Unit from the university, so that it can incorporate the know-how of knowledge management and collaborative learning articulated with ICT applied to educational-productive management in the agricultural sector. Ontology is used as the main mechanism to represent knowledge, defining within a context or domain the meaning of the terms and their relationships. Through the model the technological bases and knowledge necessary in the teaching of agriculture in a university nucleus are structured.Keywords: Ontology, Knowledge Management, Agro-business, Business Model.
