The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of problem-based learning approach of "Matter and Heat" unit taking place in science and technology course involved in the curriculum of the 6th grade on the students' academic success and motivation towards science and technology course. The research was designed and implemented according to "pretest-posttest control group" experimental model. 6-A class (N=16) attending Büyükkarakarlı Primary School, Hayrabolu county, Tekirdağ was determined as the experimental group intentionally biased by the researcher in the second semester of 2009-2010 academic year. 6-A class (N=20) attending Hüseyin Korkmaz Primary School, Hayrabolu county, Tekirdağ was determined randomly among three sections of the 6th class as the control group. While problem-based learning approach was implemented for the experimental group; traditional approaches were applied in the control group. While implementing problem-based learning approach for the experimental group, problem scenarios developed by the researcher were used. "Academic Achievement Test" and "Science and Technology Course Motivation Scale" were used as the data collection tools. By means of data analysis, it is found out that problem-based learning approach is more effective than traditional method in terms of developing academic success on science and technology course and motivation towards this course.

The aim of this study was to determine whether or not animation applications affect student achievement in science and technology course. For this purpose, effect of constructive approach supported by animations in the instruction of the unit “Living Organisms and Energy” to the 8th grade students on their academic achievement was investigated. This unit was taught to the experimental group using a constructivist approach supported by animations and to the control group using a constructivist approach without animations. For data collection, an achievement was developed and administered to experimental and control groups as pre-tests and post-tests. Collected data was analyzed using t-test and MANOVA. As a result of the research, it was revealed that supporting the constructivist approach with animations was more effective in increasing academic achievement. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of authentic childhood games in teaching English. The study group of the research consists of 43 5 year old kindergarten students. The study was carried out in the first semester of 2014-2015 academic year. An experimental method was used in this study to state the effects of teaching English vocabulary through authentic childhood games. There were 22 students in the experimental group and 21 students in the control group. To the experimental group the topics were taught through authentic childhood games. Same topics were taught to the control group through traditional methods. According to the results, it is seen that teaching English vocabulary through authentic childhood games have positive impact on academic success. Keywords: authentic childhood games, kindergarten, teaching English

This research is a quasi-experimental aims to find the impact of problem based learning model with experimental methods on the learning outcomes physics science of grade VII SMPN 19 Mataram in academic year 2014/2015. The population of this research is students of grade VII SMPN 19 Mataram with 144 students, while the sampling of this research is grade as VIIA as experimental group and VIIB as the control group. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling. The research design used is untreated control group design with pretest and posttest. Pre-test results obtained by the average value of experimental group is 25.36 while the control group is 28.54. Post-test results for experimental group is 75.13, while for the control group is 65.41. Research hypotheses were analyzed by t-test two tail using formulas polled variance t-test given the result that thint is greater than ttable, In addition, an increase on learning outcomes analyzed using N-gain test given the result that experimental group has increased higher than the control group.so that can be concluded that the model of problem-based learning with experimental method given positive impact on learning outcomes physics science of grade VII SMPN 19 Mataram in academic year 2014/2015.

This study is an experimental aims to finding out the effect of problem based learning through experimental methods on student’s physics science process skills of SMA Negeri 1 Selong academic year 2014/2015. The design of this study used pretest-posttest control group design, while the sampling technique used cluster random sampling. The population of this study is students of grade X Science Program SMA Negeri 1 Selong, while the samples are the students of class X 1 (experimental group) and class X 4 (control group). The instrument of this study is the science process skills test. The result data was analyzed by t-test pooled variant two tails. Obtain values thint = 5.38, ttable = 1.99 at the significance level of 5%. Because - ttable < thint > + ttable, then Ho will be rejected and Ha will be accepted which indicates that there is significant the effect of problem based learning through the experimental method on physics science process skills of students of SMA Negeri 1 Selong academic year 2014/2015.

This study has conducted to reveal the effect of the problem based learning on academic success in the 6th grade math lesson. The working group of the study consists of 79 students who are 6th grade at Ismetpasa Secondary School in Düzce. The study has been designed in the model of pretest-posttest control group. "Mathematics success test" and "Semi-constructed interview form on the problem based learning" have been applied as data collection tool. Data has been tested with the analysis of both covariance and content. There is an important difference between pretest results and posttest results when the pretest points have been controlled. When the opinions of experimental group related to these learning methods have been examined these opinions provide the permanent learning, improve the success and develop the skills on problem solving.

The purpose of this study is to determine whether the think pair share learning model with a  problem based learning approach is effective based on students' self-efficacy. This research is a quantitative research in the form of quasi-experimental research using a pretest-posttest control group design. The sample of the study was the students of X MIPA class of MAN Salatiga in the academic year 2018/2019, the sample was determined using the Cluster Random Sampling technique. Data was collected using a self-efficacy questionnaire consisting of 20 statements. The results of the study show that: (1) the results of the independent sample t test mean students' self-efficacy obtained a value of 0.035, (2) the average N-Gain score of self-efficacy of students who learned by using the think pair share model with a problem based learning approach of 0.36 while the average N-Gain score of self-efficacy of students who get conventional learning is only 0.23. Thus it can be concluded that the think pair share learning model with a problem based learning approach is effective based on the self-efficacy of X MIPA class of MAN Salatiga students in the academic year 2018/2019.

This study aims at finding out the effectiveness of ICT based Student Centered Learning Approach based on ICT toward prose appreciation ability of students at Indonesian Department UNP. The population was 141 students classified into four classes at sixth semester at 2011/2012 academic year. By clustering random sampling, class C with 36 students was assigned as the experimental group, and class D with 36 students was assigned as the experimental group. The design of this study was controlled-group pretest to posttest to find out students’ prose appreciation ability. At the beginning of this study, both groups were normally distributed; indicated by the same variety and there is no significant difference in their abilities at prose appreciation. The finding of this study revealed that there was a difference of their abilities at prose appreciation. The calculation, tobs (7,5072) >ttable (2,0301) showed that students at experimental group, who used ICT based Student Centered Learning Approach, achieved the passing grades. While the control group with the calculation of tobs (-0,3241) <ttable (2,0301), the students could not achieve the passing grades. This means that ICT based Student Centered Learning Method effectively improves students’ ability at prose appreciation. This study aimed at investigating the effect of Scripted Songs as a teaching technique on English competence of the fourth grade students of primary school in SD Saraswati Tabanan in academic year 2013/2014. Posttest only control group design was used as a research design. The population was all the fourth grade students. Through Cluster Random Sampling technique, two classes were taken as the samples in this study, namely class 4B and 4C. Class 4B was assigned as the control group while class 4C as the experimental group. In total, seventy five students were taken as representative of the population. The students in experimental group were taught by using Scripted Songs, while the students in control group were taught by using Conventional Technique. At the end of treatment, both groups were given a posttest. The result of the posttest was then analyzed descriptively and inferentially. Based on the result of data analysis, it was found that the students who were taught by using Scripted Songs obtained better result than those who were taught by using Conventional Technique. It was proven by the mean score of the experimental group was 79.05, while the control group was 69.5. Moreover, the result of the independent sample t-test showed that the value of t observed (tobs) was 5.000. It was higher than the value of t critical value (tcv)was 1.99 (α= 0.05). This proved that there was a significant effect on English competence between experimental and control group.

This study aims to determine the effect of Problem Based Learning (PBL) model aided LKS Creation Respiratory System to student learning outcomes MAN 1 Magelang. This study uses a quasi-experimental design. The sample used is a class XI MIA 6 as control class and XI MIA 5 as experimental class. Sampling technique using cluster random sampling. The results showed that the average cognitive achievement, experimental class is better than the control class, namely 66.97>58.70. Based on data analysis psychomotor learning outcomes, the experimental class get better results than the control class, is 76.67%. On the affective aspects in the experimental group also showed better results is 79.99% while the control group is 62.32% with both good category. Both classes have reached school classical completeness is ≥ 75%. Classical completeness experimental group reached 81.25%, while the control group 75%. The average yield of 91.5% the teacher's performance is very good. In general, teachers and students also respond very well to applied learning. Conclusions from this research is a model of PBL aided the Respiratory System LKS Creation a positive effect on learning outcomes of students of class XI MIA MAN 1 Magelang the academic year 2015/2016.
