Aim. The purpose of the article is to introduce innovative approaches to training female basketball players for responding and resolving conflict situations, reducing aggressiveness, building effective interpersonal relationships during training to achieve high results. Materials and methods. The study involved two groups of female basketball players. The experimental group (EG) consisted of 32 subjects aged 18–25 years old, members of the women's basketball teams of universities in Chelyabinsk. The control group (CG) consisted of 28 subjects of a similar age, who were part of the amateur university women's basketball teams. The study used the “Aggression Test” by L.G. Pochebut, the K. Thomas Conflict Mode Instrument (adaptation by N.V. Grishina), and the T. Leary Interpersonal Behavior Circle Personal Inventory. Statistical analysis of the results was carried out using the SPSS Statistics 17.0 program. Results. High level of aggressiveness, conflict and inadequacy of interpersonal relations in basketball players was revealed. The author’s innovative modular psychological and pedagogical program for the correction of destructive types of aggression, as well as conflict and ineffective interpersonal relationships was developed and implemented. Monitoring showed a decrease in the level of physical, emotional aggression, self-aggression. The choice of adequate strategies for behavior in the conflict was formed, which indicates the effectiveness of the program when working with athletes of basketball teams during training. Conclusion. An analysis of the data obtained indicates that after the modular psychological and pedagogical program the athletes learned to neutralize conflict and at the same time switch their aggression to neutral objects, express aggression verbally with less emotional coloring, resolve conflict situations and construct harmoniously interpersonal relationships.

Purpose:To assess the weekly fluctuations in workload and differences in workload according to playing time in elite female basketball players. Methods:A total of 29 female basketball players (mean [SD] age 21 [5] y, stature 181 [7] cm, body mass 71 [7] kg, playing experience 12 [5] y) belonging to the 7 women’s basketball teams competing in the first-division Lithuanian Women’s Basketball League were recruited. Individualized training loads (TLs) and game loads (GLs) were assessed using the session rating of perceived exertion after each training session and game during the entire in-season phase (24 wk). Percentage changes in total weekly TL (weekly TL + GL), weekly TL, weekly GL, chronic workload, acute:chronic workload ratio, training monotony, and training strain were calculated. Mixed linear models were used to assess differences for each dependent variable, with playing time (low vs high) used as fixed factor and subject, week, and team as random factors. Results:The highest changes in total weekly TL, weekly TL, and acute:chronic workload ratio were evident in week 13 (47%, 120%, and 49%, respectively). Chronic workload showed weekly changes ≤10%, whereas monotony and training strain registered highest fluctuations in weeks 17 (34%) and 15 (59%), respectively. A statistically significant difference in GL was evident between players completing low and high playing times (P = .026, moderate), whereas no significant differences (P > .05) were found for all other dependent variables. Conclusions:Coaches of elite women’s basketball teams should monitor weekly changes in workload during the in-season phase to identify weeks that may predispose players to unwanted spikes and adjust player workload according to playing time.

Background. Psycho-emotional sphere of mariners is one of the most susceptible to severe conditions of maritime labor. Crew work at sea on ships of foreign companies often has abnormal working conditions. As a result, socio-psychological conflicts can arise, turning into psycho-emotional stress. Thus, the research of Russian mariners’ emotional sphere, working on the ships under flags of foreign states is very actual. The aim of the work is to define the features of Russian mariners’ emotional condition during their work with international crews and to substantiate the necessity of its correction during voyage and intervoyage periods.Materials and methods. Psycho-emotional condition of Russian mariners who worked on foreign companies’ ships during sea voyage was assessed using diagnostic method «Diagnostic of interpersonal relations» T. Leary, adapted by L.N. Sobchik. Results of the research and discussion. A rather high level of tension of the emotional condition during the voyage was found, probably, caused by difficult communication with foreign mariners, hard work and, as a consequence, occurrence of conflict situations. Emotional stress may contribute to neurotic reactions in mariners. It is recommended to select crews for work on ships under the foreign flag and not to allow contracting with psychologically unstable person.

In previous studies found in the literature speed (SP), acceleration (ACC), deceleration (DEC), and impact (IMP) zones have been created according to arbitrary thresholds without considering the specific workload profile of the players (e.g., sex, competitive level, sport discipline). The use of statistical methods based on raw data could be considered as an alternative to be able to individualize these thresholds. The study purposes were to: (a) individualize SP, ACC, DEC, and IMP zones in two female professional basketball teams; (b) characterize the external workload profile of 5 vs. 5 during training sessions; and (c) compare the external workload according to the competitive level (first vs. second division). Two basketball teams were recorded during a 15-day preseason microcycle using inertial devices with ultra-wideband indoor tracking technology and microsensors. The zones of external workload variables (speed, acceleration, deceleration, impacts) were categorized through k-means clusters. Competitive level differences were analyzed with Mann–Whitney’s U test and with Cohen’s d effect size. Five zones were categorized in speed (<2.31, 2.31–5.33, 5.34–9.32, 9.33–13.12, 13.13–17.08 km/h), acceleration (<0.50, 0.50–1.60, 1.61–2.87, 2.88–4.25, 4.26–6.71 m/s2), deceleration (<0.37, 0.37–1.13, 1.14–2.07, 2.08–3.23, 3.24–4.77 m/s2), and impacts (<1, 1–2.99, 3–4.99, 5–6.99, 7–10 g). The women’s basketball players covered 60–51 m/min, performed 27–25 ACC-DEC/min, and experienced 134–120 IMP/min. Differences were found between the first and second division teams, with higher values in SP, ACC, DEC, and IMP in the first division team (p < 0.03; d = 0.21–0.56). In conclusion, k-means clustering can be considered as an optimal tool to categorize intensity zones in team sports. The individualization of external workload demands according to the competitive level is fundamental for designing training plans that optimize sports performance and reduce injury risk in sport.

Тhe article considers the problem of psychological climate in a sports team. The paper presents an analysis of different approaches to the problem of interpersonal relations in a sports team, as well as substantiates the need to create a favorable psychological climate in a volleyball team. During the work, the coach is faced with different types of psychological climate and naturally there is a need to change it. It is necessary to establish contacts within the system, make the most of the capabilities of each player. In addition, athletes, respect their mentor and highly value his authority, in the process of training show honesty, the desire to perform any task of the coach, no matter how difficult it may be. It is clear that such an attitude to activity, multiplied by years of training, with the appropriate level of ability can not but lead to the achievement of high sportsmanship. The results of the study of the psychological climate and interpersonal relationships in the student volleyball team are presented. It was determined that low normative behavior is observed in 58.75% of players, 30% have an average level and 12.25% have high normative behavior. According to the results of testing among athletes of the volleyball team aged 18-21 in 60% of subjects - low inadequate self-esteem, which is expressed in dissatisfaction with themselves, insecurity, as well as excessive self- criticism. Adequate self-esteem and a certain maturity were found in 40% of the subjects. Accordingly, low self-esteem, which is present in athletes with low behavioral norms, who try to increase their importance through self-expression due to behavioral characteristics. They evade social requirements, try to stand out in the group, violate discipline. When determining the relationship of the psychological climate in the team, it was found that it is influenced by such factors as the level of self-esteem (r = 0.62, at p <0.05) and closed-sociability (r = 0.58, at p <0, 05). Thus, a favorable psychological climate helps the team to move faster towards a common goal, overcome difficulties, the ability to find compromise solutions in conflict situations and, as a result, higher rates of personal and team satisfaction.

An actual and popular area of research in psychodermatology is to conduct comprehensive studies that comprehensively reveal the mental characteristics of patients with different forms and types of eczema. This will allow in the future to optimize work with patients of this profile and to plan psychotherapeutic measures in the key of a personalized constitutional approach. The aim of the study was to examine the differences in the level of subjective control between healthy and/or eczema patients depending on the severity of dermatosis. Men aged 22 to 35 years, with a diagnosis of true (n=34) and microbial (n=38) eczema, were assessed by the level of subjective control on the basis of the J. Rotter scale edited by E.F. Bazhin et al. (1984). As a control from the data bank of the research center of National Pirogov Memorial Medical University, Vinnytsya indicators of the level of subjective control of 82 practically healthy men of the same age group were selected. Statistical processing of the results was performed in the license package "Statistica 5.5" using non-parametric evaluation methods. Patients with true eczema, compared with the control group, have a higher level of subjective control in the field of general internality, achievements, educational (professional) relations (mild course) and interpersonal relations (severe course). At patients with a microbic eczema of mild and severe course in comparison with healthy investigated size of level of subjective control is smaller in the field of failures and interpersonal relations. Patients with true eczema compared to patients with microbial eczema found significantly higher levels of subjective control in the field of general internality, failures, educational (professional) and interpersonal relationships. In patients with severe dermatosis compared with patients with mild dermatitis there is a decrease in the level of subjective control in the field of educational (professional) relations (true eczema) and interpersonal relations (microbial eczema). Thus, the peculiarities of the level of subjective control in men with various forms of eczema can serve as psychological predictors of exacerbations and exacerbations of eczema, which is certainly important for both clinicians and health care providers in particular.

Aim: To evaluate the influence of malocclusion on interpersonal relationships among adolescents. Method: A cross-sectional, quantitative study was carried out with 360 students. Photographs of male and female mouth with malocclusions were manipulated and superimposed on the smile images of two individuals of both genders with normal occlusion (corresponding to the control group, GC) respectively, for assembly of 4 malocclusions: (1) anterior open bite, ( 2) anterior crossbite (3) dental crowding , and (4) Class II, in this order. These images were provided to the participants, who evaluated them through a questionnaire. Results: The less attractive malocclusion was dental crowding. For both flirting and maintaining a serious relationship the previous open bite was the most rejected, with Class II being the most acceptable. Conclusion: For adolescents, dental crowding is the most appropriate malocclusion to be corrected orthodontically. Malocclusions negatively influence the development of interpersonal relationships among adolescents.KEYWORDSAdolescent; Malocclusion; Interpersonal relationships.

The aim of the present study was to examine the differences in game-related statistics between national and foreign female basketball players in the Women’s EuroLeague, according to playing positions and team ability. The official box-scores of 112 games from the 2016–2017 season of the Women’s EuroLeague (FIBA) were examined. Players were categorised based upon country of nationality versus competition (i.e., foreign or national), playing positions (i.e., Guards, Forwards, Centers), and team ability (i.e., four groups using a cluster of k-means analysis according to the winning percentage of each team during the competition). A structural coefficient (SC) above |0.30| was used to identify the variables that best differentiated the national and foreign players. Results showed that foreign players had a better performance according to team ability and playing position for most of the performance indicators, with higher values for minutes played, percentage of successful 2-point field-goals, percentage of successful free-throws, and percentage of assists. Moreover, foreign players performed better in variables associated with offensive situations, while national players were prevailing with indicators associated with defensive actions. These results have highlighted the unique contributions of foreign and national players, based upon playing position and team ability, to team success in the Euroleague. This information will assist the recruitment process of national and foreign athletes for coaches to develop successful elite female basketball teams.

The present research featured the psychosemantic foundation of interpersonal relations, the latter represented as a three-level system. The psychosemantic foundation contains implicit models of interpersonal relations; the regulatory level regulates interpersonal relationships in various contexts; the behavioral level manifests itself in direct interpersonal behavior. The research was based on the method of semantic differential. However, the method proved too sensitive to various kinds of heterogeneity of the test subjects, which rendered it impossible to identify the factor structure. As a result, the semantic differential was converted to factorial personality systems through the Automated Personal Thesaurus TEZAL. In this research, the semantic differential vocabulary profile was converted to 16PF personality profile. The semantic differential and converted data underwent statistical and comparative analyses, which singled out the general structures of perception in the system of interpersonal relations. The procedure revealed two bipolar factors. The factor of social self-organization reflected the degree of orderliness of social activity and behavior. The factor of social interaction demonstrated the flexibility, activity and initiative of social behavior. A regression analysis of the psychosemantic foundations revealed a more complex system, when interpersonal relations are perceived through the role image of mother and friend. Thus, initial data conversion provided a more detailed reconstruction of the psychosemantic foundation of interpersonal relations.

The aim of this study was to investigate the basketball players’, active in Turkey Women’s Basketball Super and 1st Leagues, empathy levels according to their marital status, educational status in addition to age and marital status of their coach; and to evaluate leadership characteristics and behavior of their coaches according to athlete’s perception. Another aim was to analyze the relation between empathy levels of the athletes and athletes’ perception of coaching behavior. 264 (age; 24.61±5.53 year) female athletes playing in Turkey Women’s Basketball Super and 1st Leagues participated in this study. Leadership Scale for Sports (LSS)-version of Athletes’ Perception of Coaching Behavior that developed by Chelladurai and Saleh, and adapted by Tiryaki and Toros in 2006 was used as data collection tool. Athletes’ perceptions of leadership style and behavior of their coach were evaluated in five different factors. A five-factor solution with 40 items describing the most salient dimensions of coaching behavior was selected as the most meaningful. Empathy levels of the athletes were determined by using Emphatic Tendency Scale which was developed by Dökmen (1988) and composed of 20 items. Empathy levels of the athletes showed no statistically significant difference in terms of any variable (p>0.05). There was no statistically significant difference in athletes’ perceptions of coaching behaviors in terms of marital status of the athlete and age of their coach (p>0.05). In terms of educational status of athletes and marital status of their coach, there were statistically significant differences in athletes’ perceptions of coaching behaviors (p<0.05 and p<0.01). Positive and meaningful correlation was found between empathy scores of the athletes and training and instruction behavior (r=.172**) and autocratic behavior (r=.154*) of the coach (p<0.05 and p<0.01). Educational status of the athletes and marital status of their coach are influental in athletes’ evaluation of their perceptions of coaching behavior. Empathy levels of the athletes are related to their perceptions of coaching behavior.
