Pemantauan secara berkala dan strategi pengelolaan yang baik dapat meningkatkan indeks keberlanjutan pengelolaan ekosistem mangrove serta meningkatkan kapasitas lingkungan pesisir Pulau Nain.ABSTRACTThe aims of this study are to analyze the community structure and sustainability of mangrove ecosystem management in Nain Island, Wori District, North Minahasa, North Sulawesi Province. The Kutai National Park (KNP) which is located in East Kutai Regency on East Kalimantan Province is endowed with numerous pristine of mangrove forest. However, related information to the species composition and diversity of KNP mangrove is still scanty. Twenty-one of mangrove species were recorded using the quadratic transects survey method (total plot area of 1.7 ha). Main species of mangrove communities were Avicennia lanata, A. marina, Bruguiera gymnorrhysa, B sexangular, Ceriops tagal, Rhizophora apiculata, R. mucronata and Sonneratia Alba. Mangrove density was recorded reached as 1,699 trees ha-1, saplings of 4,395 ha-1 and seedlings 25,348 ha-1. Significant tree density was found in Pandan Bay Estuary. While in the Lombok Bay and the Kaba Bay significant for sapling and seedling categories. Importance value index of mangrove species in the three study locations for three growth categories (tree, sapling and seedling) showed significant differences (p-value> α0.05). Mangrove stand at three study locations has almost the same characteristics. The species diversity and evenness index has shown the same distribution pattern. The findings of this study suggest that KNP mangrove forest stand is not heavily damaged even though there is a lot of human activity. This mangrove could be managed and conserved for multi-sectoral purposes such as ecotourism, research, biodiversity and education rather than solely as a Nature Conservation Area.

This research purpose is to analyze the effectiveness of mangrove ecosystem management strategy in Bunaken Island of Bunaken National Park in Manado City, North Sulawesi Province. The research used the research methods of field surveys, sampling, and literature studies for several components that require periodic data. The data analysis used in this research is the Criteria Decision Making Analysis (MCDMA) with the Rapid Appraisal of Mangrove Ecosystem Sustainability (RAPMECS) tools modified from the Rapid Appraisal for Fisheries (RAPFISH). The obtained data will analyze the effectiveness of the ecological, socio-economic, and institutional dimensions that directly affect the mangrove ecosystems. It is indicated that the mangrove ecosystem management sustainability dimension in Bunaken Island is poor, and the socio-economic and institutional dimensions are not good. The main point that makes the management sustainability dimension unfavorable is the island slope and total extent of the mangrove ecosystem area. As the buffer zone, the mangrove ecosystem is low effective, this island is vulnerable to sea currents and waves. The strategies to minimize the vulnerability of this island from sea currents and waves include the increase of the mangrove ecosystem area, community awareness and participation in managing the mangrove ecosystems, and the supporting infrastructure in the mangrove ecosystem management activities. Analisis data bersifat Multy Criteria Decision Making Analysis (MCDMA) dengan tools Rapid Apraisal of mangrove ecosystem sustainability (RAPMECS) yang dimodifikasi dari the Rapid Appraisal for Fisheries (RAPFISH). Kata Kunci: Strategi; Pengelolaan;  Mangrove; Bunakensupporting infrastructure in the mangrove ecosystem management activities.

Abstract Studies on bio-ecosystems sustainability and feasibility are urgent because many mangrove ecosystems have been converted into ponds as a source of livelihood. This study aimed to evaluate the sustainability level of the mangrove bio-ecosystem in Dabong Village and formulate the most appropriate strategy in silvofishery development. The method used was a field survey to obtain secondary and primary data. Bio-ecosystem feasibility analysis was carried out descriptively, qualitatively and quantitatively based on data compilation of water quality, soil fertility, macrozoobenthos and mangrove density. SWOT analysis was used in developing the strategies. Based on the study results, the land suitability matrix for silvofishery development in Dabong Village had a very suitable category (69.00%) regarding soil value conditions and water quality. The abundance of macrozoobenthos was 21 individual m2 -1 gatropoda, 30 individuals m2 -1 bivalves, and eight individuals m2 -1 crustaceans. Stand density values of Rhizophora apiculata, Avicennia alba, and Sonneratia alba ranged from 15-25 individuals m2 -1, 18-27 individuals m2 -1, and 14-24 individuals m2 -1, respectively. According to ecosystem characteristics, the strategy for using mangroves in the research site was to increase the bio-ecosystem strength and minimize the damage or degradation risks as a threat to the impact of mangrove ecosystem utilization using the silvofishery model. Its application could be an alternative for sustainable use of the mangrove ecosystem.

Indonesia’s mangrove forest is decreasing. Factors affecting this condition are excessive utilization for livelihood and market demand without considering its sustainability for the future. As a result, mangrove forest degrades year by year. The present study aimed to analyse which stakeholder is the priority for mangrove ecosystem management in the city of Sorong, West Papua, Indonesia, and which factors are the priority for sustainable management. Primary data were collected using questionnaire with interview technique and were analysed using Expert Choice 11 software. The result showed that local government was the stakeholder possessing major priority in management which was supported by others (community and NGO), and the ecological factor was the priority in management, while the economic, social, and institutionalfactors were the supporting factors for sustainability.
