ABSTRACTPT. PAL Indonesia (Persero) is a state-owned enterprise (BUMN) engaged in the shipbuilding industry. Disposal of hazardous and toxic waste (B3) produced by PT. PAL Indonesia can cause negative impacts on the environment and health if special handling procedures are not taken. In order to avoid this, PT. PAL Indonesia (Persero) carries out B3 waste management. The purpose of this study was to provide an overview of the implementation of B3 waste management in PT. PAL Indonesia (Persero), including identification of B3 waste, packaging and labeling B3 waste, storage, collection and transportation of B3 waste. The research method used was the qualitative descriptive method with data collection techniques of observation, interviews, and documentation. The instrument in this study was a questionnaire. The results of the study show that in the production process, PT. PAL Indonesia (Persero) produced hazardous and toxic (B3) waste in the form of solid and liquid B3 waste in the form of used TL lamps, contaminated cotton waste, silica sand from sand blasting processes, used oil, and sludge oil. The B3 waste contained heavy metals such as Pb, Cu, Hg, Fe, and Zn. The conclusion of this research is that the implementation of B3 waste management in PT. PAL Indonesia (Persero) has not complied with implemented regulations. This study suggests the supervision of B3 waste management in PT. Abstract: Kodingareng Lompo Island is an island which has a fairly dense population of approximately 4526 people and has a direct impact on the piles of waste that is generated every day, both in the form of organic and inorganic waste. The inhabitants of Kodingareng Lompo Island tend not to have the habit of handling waste by dumping it directly into the sea.  The discarded waste causes bad odors and damages the marine ecosystem, so that waste handling with the 3R concept (reduce, reuse, recycle) is part of a sustainable business that is made into compost and organic waste can be recycled into other more useful items, especially in open green space. This research was carried out in a non-experimental nature with a qualitative descriptive method based on the design or design which will be produced using a spatial approach by mapping the location as outlined in the description of the image and the biopore point placement scheme.  The result shows that 28 biopore holes were needed to handle the organic impacts generated by residents and arranged in a grid pattern so that the water absorption flow was more natural.

Environmental protection is a major issue that is critical to the sustainable development of the country. The government of Lao PDR is taking the energy plan into consideration in order to manage and mitigate the negative impacts and to monitor the mitigation programs. Usually, the Environmental Management and Monitoring Plan (EMMP) of the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) report contains the terms and conditions with which the project developers must comply. In order to ensure that a project developer fully implements its commitment under EMMP, the MoNRE of Lao PDR have developed an environmental monitoring guideline and checklist which contains key indicators and parameters to be used by the monitoring authorities. The objective of this study is to evaluate the implementation of EMMP performed by 5 hydropower projects existing in Lao PDR, namely, Nam Thurn2, Nam Thurn Hinboun, Nam Ngum2, Num Lik1-2 and Num Ngum5. This study analyzed the monitoring data under multiple parameters including water quality, fish and fisheries, waste and pollution, watershed, downstream river flow, camp sites and construction sites, and reports, undertaken by different inspectors. The Analytic Hierarch Process (AHP) is accepted to be a powerful and flexible method for ranking decision alternatives and selecting the best ones when the decision makers have multiple criteria. Therefore, it is a selected tool used for determining the optimal hydropower project in Lao PDR based on the collected monitoring data. A case study was conducted to understand which one could be considered as the environmental friendly project and which parameter has the importance role to the accomplishment of project development.
