Furthermore, this implementation did not result in exclusive breastfeeding because the patient feels there is no milk coming out so it is not important for mothers to keep breastfeeding. The attitude of midwives in the implementation of the early initiation of breastfeeding is quite good and supports the implementation of the early initiation of breastfeeding, especially with seeing the benefits. To improve the implementation of the early initiation of breastfeeding needs to be done counseling since pregnant women and prepare it so that mothers will understand its benefits and to continually feeding that can accelerate spending and prevent breast milk feeding other than breast milk during the month / exclusive

Introduction: Mothers who do not provide exclusive and customary breastfeeding to their babies are influenced by several factors such as insufficient breast milk so that the babies often fuss and cry. Exclusive breastfeeding constraints are also due to the provision of food and drinks to the baby before breastfeeding, such as honey and formula milk, and the distrust of mothers in breastfeeding the baby. Method: The research method used is observational analytic with cross sectional approach to see the effect of independent variables on the dependent variable. Result: The results of this study were 69 respondents who did Early Initiation of Breastfeeding (IMD), 23 respondents (33.3%) succeeded in giving exclusive breastfeeding, and 18 respondents (26.1%) were unable to provide exclusive breastfeeding. Mothers who did not perform IMD and were able to provide exclusive breastfeeding were 6 respondents (8.7%) and 22 respondents (31.9%) were unable to exclusively breastfeed. This shows that IMD can increase exclusive breastfeeding, while mothers who do not do IMD are at risk of not being able to provide exclusive breastfeeding. Conclusion: From the results of this study, it is necessary to increase health education about improving the quality of mothers in carrying out IMD and exclusive breastfeeding.

Background: Primiparous mother has an essential role in reducing mortality and pain in newborns. One of the efforts to increase the success of Breastfeeding (ASI) is by practicing Early Initiation of Breastfeeding (IMD) by newborns to their mothers. The practice of IMD will greatly assist in the continuity of exclusive breastfeeding, so that the baby will be fulfilled up to the age of 2 years, and prevent malnourished children. Aim: To review the evidence regarding to the practical experience of Early Initiation of Breastfeeding (IMD) in primiparous mother. Method: This scoping review method used the Arksey & O'Malley framework which consisted of 5 stages, namely identifying scoping review questions with the PICO framework; identifying relevant articles by determining inclusion and exclusion criteria; searching for articles through relevant databases, namely Pubmed, Science Direct and Wiley, search for Gray Literature through the Search Engine, namely Google Scholar; Selection of articles with Prism Flow Chart which is used to describe the flow of search for articles, conduct Critical Appraisal to assess the quality of articles; undertake the charting data; compile, summarize and report results Results: Dealing with the 4 articles obtained, there were 3 articles with grade A from the RCT method, quantitative non-randomized, and qualitative. 1 grade B article with non-randomized quantitative method. Furthermore, 4 themes were obtained, namely social support, childbirth factors, the needs of primiparous mothers, and psychological factors. Conclusion: It indicated that there was a gap between the results of review articles in developed and developing countries, namely that primiparous mother in developing countries, the primiparaous mother tended to focus on the issue of support from health workers. Meanwhile the results of research in developed countries, primiparous mother focused on psychological problems.

Introduction: In Indonesia, there has been a 10% increase in the span of five years for exclusive breastfeeding, however this is still far from the national target. One of the factors that can cause low rates of national exclusive breastfeeding is that not all babies have received an early initiation of breastfeeding. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between early initiation of breastfeeding and exclusive breastfeeding for babies aged 7-12 months in the work area of Wiyung Public Health Center, Surabaya. Methods: This study was a quantitative research with a cross-sectional approach. The study used a questionnaire as the research instrument given to 30 respondents, namely mothers who had 7-12 month old babies in the work area of Wiyung Public Health Center, Surabaya. Results: The percentage of early initiation of breastfeeding in babies aged 7-12 months was 53.33% meanwhile the percentage of exclusive was 73.33%. Using Chi Square Fisher Exact Test, it was found that there is no relationship between early initiation of breastfeeding and exclusive breastfeeding for babies aged 7-12 months in the working area of the Wiyung Public Health Center in Surabaya. (The value of p = 0.574 with a value of α = 0.05, p>α). Conclusion: The early initiation of breastfeeding is not the only factor influencing exclusive breastfeeding for babies aged 7-12 months in the work area of the Wiyung Public Health Center in Surabaya. Further research is needed on other factors that can relate to and influence exclusive breastfeeding.
