Purpose: to study the features of motivation and psycho-emotional state in the competitive activities of veteran judokas. Material and methods. The pedagogical research used analysis and generalization of scientific and methodological literature, surveys of athletes and specialists in judo, study of videos of competitive activities of highly qualified judokas and veteran judokas, methods of mathematical statistics. Results: the level of psycho-emotional sphere of athletes' personality was assessed by a modified test RB Ketella (16-FLO-105-C). The results of this testing showed that the main parameters of the psycho-emotional state in judo veterans are within normal limits. Veterans are characterized by more objective self-esteem, good intelligence, less subordination, and stable emotional stability. A questionnaire survey of veteran judokas was conducted, which revealed that 92,9 % of respondents started regular classes before the age of 15; 96,4 % interrupted active wrestling for 5-10 years; 28,6 % of veteran athletes sometimes included wrestling and its elements in their exercise. In order to determine the motives for sports activities of veteran judokas and young athletes, a modified version of the method of identifying significant factors of sports activities was used, which showed that veteran athletes and young judokas have different motivations for training. 71,4 % of judo veterans are motivated to return to sports by meeting the needs of competitive activities, getting closer to their «motor past» and maintaining good health; 21,4 % of the surveyed athletes returned for self-expression and self-affirmation, and only 7,1 % said they continued to exercise to meet their ambitions. The main motive for young athletes was the need for self-expression (46,9 %), material interest (33,9 %). Conclusions. Studies have shown little effect on the competitive outcome in veteran judo injuries and sports qualifications of athletes. Apparently, the basis of success of highly qualified judokas-veterans is high psychological readiness, strictly individual physical and technical and tactical training. Keywords: judo, psychological training, motivation, competitions, veterans, veterans' sports

Sport activity are associated with significant physical and psychological stress and determine the relevance of monitoring the conditions for sports, studying the health of athletes and their regime. The purpose of the study: to study the sanitary and hygienic conditions in sports schools, the features of the daily routine and lifestyle of young athletes and their psycho-emotional state. Materials and methods. The analysis includes data from a study of 70 girls aged 13–15 who are engaged in rhythmic gymnastics. We used methods of sanitary and hygienic research, questionnaires, methods for identifying the level of situational and personal anxiety (Spielberger C. D.) and competitive anxiety (R. Martens), a questionnaire for studying one’s own reaction to stressful events (Greenberg). Results. The number of violations of sanitary and hygienic requirements for the conditions of sports activities have been identified. The most common violations of the day-lack of sleep and stay in the fresh air, a high amount of training load. Moderate personal anxiety was detected in 76 % of athletes, 7 % of respondents — low anxiety, 17 % — high personal anxiety. A high level of reactive anxiety was detected in 24 % of female athletes, and high-level sports anxiety was observed in 25 % of those surveyed. The relationship between the severity of violations of hygiene standards and the level of manifestation of personal and reactive anxiety was Revealed. The age dynamics for all diagnosed types of anxiety was revealed: higher rates of anxiety were observed in the age group of 13 years compared to 14 and 15-year-old athletes. Conclusion. The results of the study showed the need for dynamic monitoring of the state of health, including psycho-emotional state of athletes, allocation of athletes with pronounced errors in the regime to observation groups, carrying out preventive measures to explain the importance of compliance with hygiene rules and monitoring and assistance in their implementation in the lifestyle of young athletes.

Objectives: 1) To compare ability to return to prior competitive sports activity after arthroscopic hip surgery by gender, with an emphasis on the rate of return to the same level of competition. 2) To compare gender differences in type of sports activities, diagnosis and treatment in athletes requiring hip arthroscopy. Methods: Prospectively obtained data on all high-level elite athletes (professional, NCAA collegiate and/or Olympic) treated between 2007 and 2014 were retrospectively reviewed. The clinical and surgical records of 547 hips in 484 consecutive patients who underwent primary hip arthroscopy by the senior author for non-arthritic hip pain during the study period were included. Elite athletes who had a Hip Sports Activity Score (HSAS) of over 6 were identified. Patients completed a pre-operative questionnaire that included medical and sports activity history and level of competition, hip-specific outcome scores (Modified Harris Hip Score [MHHS] and International Hip Outcome Tool-33 [iHOT-33]) at baseline and most recent follow-up. Surgical findings and time to return to competitive sports activity were documented. Results: A total of 98 elite athletes with a mean follow up period of 18.8 months (±12.7) were identified. There were 49 females and 49 males. 27 athletes had bilateral hip arthroscopy, 5 of which had 1 operation elsewhere. All patients were available for follow up. Of the 80 patients desiring to return to their original competitive activity, 38 were female (42 hips) (Female Athlete group [FA]) and 42 were male (54 hips) (Male Athlete group [MA]) their mean ages were 21.5(±3.9) and 20.5(±1.9), duration of pain prior to surgery was 12.1 (±10.3) months and 15.1 (±1.9) months, respectively. 84.2% of FA and 83.3% of MA were able to return to the same level of competition at a mean of 8.3 (±3) and 8.8 (±2.9) months, respectively. Statistically significant improvements between pre- and post-operative mean MHHS and iHOT-33 scores were seen in both groups (p <.0001; p <.0001). FA had significantly higher proportions of hips that were diagnosed with Pincer type FAI (p =.0004), and Instability (p <.0001). Conversely, the MA had significantly higher proportions of hips that were diagnosed with Combined type FAI (p <.0001), had more extensive acetabular cartilage rim damage (p =.0002), and in particularly had more hips that required microfracture treatment (p =.001). When comparing cam lesions (includes Cam and Combined type FAI) the alpha angle was statistically greater in MA (mean 74°±6.7) compared to FA (mean 65.4°±6.8) (p <.0001). The category of sports the FA participated in were more flexibility (11%) and endurance (24%) type sports. MA participated more in cutting (33%), contact (14%) and asymmetric (31%) type sports. Patients who were able to return to same level of competitive activity had a significantly shorter duration of pre-operation symptoms compared to those who could not (p < 0.05). Microfracture treatment did not affect the ability to return to sports. Conclusion: A similar high percentage of both female and male elite athletes were able to return to competitive sports activity after arthroscopic treatment of FAI and/or hip instability. Distinct differences in diagnosis, treatment and participating type of sports activities were seen when comparing female and male athletes. Duration of symptoms negatively correlated with outcomes. Extensive cartilage damage and Microfracture did not affect outcome / return to sports.

Studies on the socioeconomic impact of fibromyalgia (FM) have shown the high health services use done by these patients. These data indicate the challenge of dealing with these people, their treatment and rehabilitation, as well as the need of changes in actions and implementation of cost-effective approaches. In this study we reviewed the literature on the health care use behavior in FM. The data shows that the emotional state and catastrophizing are relevant factors in the onset of seeking health care, and within the system, higher self-efficacy, attributions of symptoms to external factors, the perception of good health and lower comorbidity is associated with less use.

According to the results of the analysis of scientific-methodical, special and reference literature (monitoring of Internet sources) it is established, that the issue of analytical and statistical review (comparative analysis) of technical and tactical training of judokas and highly qualified judokas is devoted to the insufficient number of scientific and methodological works, which requires further research and emphasizes the relevance and practical component of the chosen area of scientific research. The main purpose of the study is to conduct a comparative analysis of the technical and tactical arsenal of highly qualified male and female judokas (champions and winners of the XXXII Summer Olympic Games 2020, Tokyo, Japan). In the process of research and analytical work, the following methods of theoretical research were used: axiomatic, idealization, historical and logical, convergence from the specific, formalization (mathematical and statistical), and so on. As a result of the study, members of the research group conducted a comparative analysis of the technical and tactical arsenal of highly qualified male and female judokas (champions and winners of the XXXII Summer Olympic Games 2020, Tokyo, Japan). In order to increase the effectiveness of competitive activities of Ukrainian athletes (men and women) who specialize in judo at different stages of their long-term training, it is advisable to focus the attention of leading coaches on the development of appropriate training programs (pedagogical models) that provide: perfect mastering by Judoists of theoretical aspects of current rules of judo; increasing the number and variety of attacking and defensive techniques; increasing the coefficient of reliability of technical and tactical actions (combinations); development of tactile sensitivity and coordination; formation of high psychophysical readiness for long-term competitive activity (high training loads), etc.
