Japanese frangipani plants (Adenium obesum) And white frangipani (Plumeria acuminata), including ornamental plants that have medicinal properties. This plant contains a lot of flavonoid compounds and natural antioxidant compounds. This study aims to determine the antioxidant activity of ethanol extracts of leaves and flowers of japanese frangipani plants  and white frangipani. Frangipani extract is obtained by moderating frangipani leaves and flowers by using 70% and 96% ethanol solvents. Thick extracts of frangipani leaves and flowers are obtained by concentrating the extract using a water bath. Phytochemical screening tests of thick extracts containing alkaloids, saponins, tannins, flavonoids, terpenoids, and steroids qualitatively, while antioxidant activity was tested by the method 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH). Phytochemical screening results showed the presence of alkaloids, tannins, flavonoids, and saponins with the highest IC50 values shown by white frangipani extract extracted with 70% ethanol at 98.41 ppm, and the lowest by white frangipani extracted with 96% ethanol at 533.13 ppm. This study aims to determine the antioxidant activity of akar kuning (Arcangelisia flava) stem extract from Central Kalimantan using 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) method. This research includes extraction of simplicia and test of antioxidant activity by DPPH method. Based on the analysis of antioxidant activity on ethanol extract from yellow root plant stem IC50 values of 136.81 ppm were obtained. This IC50 value indicates the antioxidant strength of the yellow root plant stems including in the moderate category. Further research on antioxidant activity in the fraction of akar kuning stems needs to be done to determine the composition of the antioxidant compounds in each solvent.

Plant natural products have a long history of being a rich source of neuroactive drugs. The total phenolic and flavonoid content, and antioxidant activity of ethanol, chloroform and aqueous extracts of AlgerianMedicagoSativaL, leaves were measured to discover new potential sources of Algerian natural antioxidants and neuroactives. All extracts were non-neurotoxic up to 1 mg/ ml for 24 h exposure. The total phenolcontent of M.Sativa extracts ranged between 38 and 69 mg GAE per g extracts. All of the extracts displayed antioxidant capacityassessed by two methods, but at different levels depending on the concentration and the extraction solvent used. The overall antioxidant potency was in the order water > chloroform> ethanol extracts, and the phenolic content exhibited a positive correlation with the antioxidant activity of M. Sativa extracts.Despite a weaker antioxidant activity, the ethanol extract elicited a calcium spike and suppressed the KCl-induced depolarisation response in neurons, indicating effect on ligand-and/or voltage gated calcium channels. In contrast, the chloroform and water extractsdisplayed no apparent direct functional effects. In conclusion, the antioxidant and functional properties related to phenolic content of Algerian Medicago Sativa L. in water and ethanol extracts, respectively.

Tinospora cordifolia is known as Giloe and Guduchi, with significant importance in the traditional medicinal systems. It is dioeciously plant. It is mostly used in Ayurved system. It is also known as a ‘Rasayans’ of medicinal system, which develops immune system of the body and protect against infection. The aim of this study is carried out to analyse the phytochemical compounds in leaves and stem extracts of T. cordifolia by using phytochemical screening tests and estimate total flavonoid content (TFC) by using aluminium chloride method in the sample extracts. The leaf and stem extracts of T. cordifolia expressed the presence of several phytochemicals viz., flavonoids, amino acids, diterpines, protein, saponins and carbohydrates. The result of phytochemical screening tests revealed that diterpines and carbohydrates are positive in all extracts of T. cordifolia, but flavonoids and saponins only present in  methanol and ethanol extracts. TFC of T. cordifolia was higher in ethanolic leaves extracts than mathanolic leaves extracts. The studies justify that T. cordifolia use in traditional medicines. The investigation further proposed that the phytochemicals present in stems and leaves of T. cordifolia, which can be use as natural antioxidants in medicinal drugs. Free radicals are molecules that lose electrons in their outer orbitals so that the number of electrons becomes odd and unstable. Free radicals can damage various macromolecule cells including proteins, carbohydrates, fats. Antioxidants are compounds that can donate one or more electrons to free radicals. Avocado leaves contain high bioactive components that can be used as a source of natural antioxidants. Avocado leaves that have been dried, mashed and then shifted with methanol. The extracts were tested by phytochemical screening, including flavonpoid, phenolic, tannin and antioxidant activity using the DPPH (2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhidrazyl) method. This method is based on the reduction of 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) against free radicals which causes a change from purple to yellow 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl) (DPPH). From the research, the IC50 values in avocado leaves were 118.8056 µg / mL and 7,276 µg / mL on ascorbic acid as a positive control. From the IC50 value obtained, it is known that the methanol extract of avocado leaves has strong antioxidant activity to fight free radicals.

Species from the genus Monteverdia (Celastraceae) are widely used in traditional medicine for gastric disorders. Pharmacological and phytochemical studies focus on Monteverdia ilicifolia (“espinheira-santa”). Monteverdia communis is endemic and abundant in southeast Brazil, and no previous work was reported in literature involving its chemical aspects. Given the potential of Monteverdia species as sources of natural antioxidants, this work aimed to undertake a chemical study and evaluate the antioxidant activity of leaves and stems extracts of M. communis. A fraction enriched with the triterpenes epifriedelinol and 3-oxo-friedelin was isolated from the hexane extract of the leaves. The antioxidant activity of ethanol extracts of leaves and stems was significantly higher than butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT) and statistically equivalent to rutin (positive controls). A weak negative correlation with the total flavonoid content was verified for these extracts, suggesting that the antioxidant activity may be related to the presence of other compounds in addition to flavones and flavonols. The phytochemical screening of hexane and ethanol extracts from leaves and stems revealed their chemical profile, providing quality control data. The results allow the indication of M. communis as a source of bioactive terpenoids and a promising target for further studies to isolate and identify antioxidant compounds.
