The study was conducted to determine effect of ethnic identity on assertiveness of Sundanese students. The role of students who should be critical and responsive to various things, but less prominent in Sundanese students in consequence of existence of cultural rules require maintaining communication prefer to harbor personal opinions and feelings. The demands of role and acculturation occur on campus lead to high quality of ethnic identity negatively affecting assertive communication skills. The research uses correlational quantitative methods. The results showed the number of Sundanese students with a high level of ethnic identity tended to be more than the low level of ethnic identity. While the quality of assertive communication is high or low is not much different. Using the simple regression calculation method shows that ethnic identity has a positive effect on the assertiveness of Sundanese students.

This study had the purpose of analyzing dominant and non-dominant limb performances (frequency of use and accuracy) during match-play technical actions with ball possession (receiving, passing, and shooting a ball) in professional futsal and also check for the possible influence of playing position and the quality of opponent. We have analyzed data pertaining to eight matches of the FIFA Futsal World Cup Thailand 2012™ in which 76 male professional senior futsal players participated (44 right-footed and 32 left-footed). In total, we coded 5,856 actions (2,550 ball receptions, 3,076 passes, and 230 shoots). Our main findings were that (a) players used the dominant limb more frequently than the non-dominant limb for all actions considered [p < 0.001; effect size (ES) medium-to-large]; (b) accuracy was generally greater when using the dominant limb, regardless of the quality of opponent (p < 0.01; ES large); and (c) in shooting actions, pivots showed similar accuracy between dominant and non-dominant limbs (p = 0.51; ES small). The study suggested that when completing technical actions with the ball in futsal, high-level players depended to a greater extent on the use of their dominant lower limb during official matches. Excepting a similarity detected between limbs on shooting performance of pivots, players from all positional roles generally showed a higher accuracy rate in receiving, passing, and shooting a ball when using their dominant limb as compared to their non-dominant one during match-play and the limb usage and accuracy seemed to be independent of the quality of opponents.

Today, there is a tendency towards an increase of the number of the female population that has crossed the line of menopause, which makes it more urgent to improve the quality of life of women and to develop safe methods for the prevention and treatment of climacteric syndrome (CS), which is an integral medical, social and economic problems. In view of the presence of contraindications for use and defined risks of complications with the use of hormone menopausal therapy (HRT), it is necessary to develop alternative methods for the prevention and treatment of perimenopausal symptoms. This literary review of domestic and foreign sources demonstrates information about the role of the plant lignan 7-hydroxymatairezinol (7-HMR) in maintaining the physical and psychoemotional health of women in the period of peri- and postmenopause. As a result of the analysis of the therapeutic effects of the 7-HMR molecule, the ability to relieve the main symptoms of CS (neurovegetative presentations and emotional disorders), to improve the general state of health and metabolic profile of perimenopausal women was revealed. High safety and low incidence of side effects were noted, as well as a positive effect on the dynamics of body weight. The presence of a stable anti-inflammatory and antioxidant activity 7-HMR makes it possible to recommend this lignan to women in the climacteric period as an effective drug for the prevention of the formation of immune deficiency, which contributes to the development of oncological and autoimmune diseases. The proven antitumor activity confirms the promise of using the 7-HMR for the implementation of oncopreventive measures in women of peri- and postmenopausal age.

PurposeThe purpose of this paper is to demonstrate that the positive effect of packaging transparency on purchase intention is moderated by product quality risk (PQR) associated with the product category.Design/methodology/approachTwo separate experiments were conducted. Study 1 was designed to test the mediating role of perceived quality to account for the positive effect of transparency on purchase intention. Two types of packaging (opaque vs transparent) for a product associated with a high level of PQR were examined. Study 2 extended the findings by introducing the moderating role of PQR. A 2 (type of packaging: opaque vs transparent)*2 (PQR: low vs high) between subjects design was used.FindingsThe moderating role of the product PQR level is established: transparent packaging improves the product perceived quality and brand purchase intention when the product is associated with a high PQR, whereas there is no such preference for transparent packaging when the product is associated with a low PQR.Practical implicationsThe results offer insights to better understand the potential gains from adopting transparent packaging. If a brand manager's main goals are to develop sales, costly investments in research and development of transparent packaging appear to be fruitful only for products associated with high PQR.Originality/valueThis paper contributes to packaging, cue utilisation and perceived risk literatures by evidencing the moderating role of PQR to explain the positive effect of transparency on purchase intention.

One of the major challenges in divided societies is finding ways to overcome geographical partition by increasing readiness for cohabitation in mixed areas. Cyprus has faced a protracted situation of division (between Greek Cypriots and Turkish Cypriots) for the last 44 years. In this paper, we explore the role of intergroup contact (both quantity and quality of contact) in enhancing the willingness of members of these two communities to reestablish cohabitation, using representative survey samples from both communities. We hypothesize that such an effect is mediated by a decrease in the levels of prejudice between the two communities and an increase in the levels of trust. In addition, we hypothesize that the direct effect of intergroup contact and the indirect effect of intergroup contact through trust and prejudice are both moderated by age. To explore these hypotheses, we collected data from a representative sample of 502 Greek Cypriots and 504 Turkish Cypriots. The hypotheses are tested among the Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot samples separately. In both samples, the results show that the positive effect of intergroup contact on willingness for renewed cohabitation is mediated by both trust and prejudice. There is also some support for the moderating effect of age for both the direct and indirect effects of intergroup contact.

Green gram is one of the most important kharif pulse crops of India. It is of short duration, can fit well in crop rotation and, therefore, can be grown throughout the year. Information has been accumulating concerning the role of potassium and zinc in cereal crops but very little information is available regarding the nutrition of potassium and its interaction with zinc on the yield and quality of pulses. However, Malewar, Budhewar & Jadhav (1980) and Ghildiyal, Saini & Sirohi (1975) have reported significant positive effect of zinc treatment on growth attributes in green gram. The present investigations were, therefore, planned to study individual and interaction effects of potassium and zinc on growth, dry-matter and grain yield and quality of green gram.

Abstract With the increasing functionality and complexity of the material environment it is becoming important to universally improve the quality of its shape design for people with different knowledge. When the material environment shape does not match its value content or acquire unpredictable meaning, it creates disharmony between the function and user that requires intellectual and / or emotional effort for interaction. The intuitive design improves user’s interaction because the information is presented on the subconscious level, hence it is accepted as a natural part of our environment and demands less effort to grasp and evaluate it. In this study, the scientific context of intuition is examined to determine methods and values of shape intuitive expression modeling. The goal of the study is to assess the effectiveness of shape experimental intuitive harmonization methodology using qualitative and quantitative methods. Functional and interaction restrictions are integrated into the object’s shape by employing experimental modeling techniques. Surveys, controlled observations and MaxDiff analysis were used to monitor intuitive harmonization effects on car body split-line and box shape physical models. Experimental results show that the majority of participants consider conceptual shape models to be more intuitively attractive and informative. The study concludes that it is possible and viable to employ a proposed shape intuitive harmonization variable to achieve a universally positive effect.
