The teaching and learning process in the mathematics undergraduate program emphasizes on the use of an axiomatic system and formal deduction. In this process, the students learn continuously about mathematical evidence, which can be referred to as the ability to build arguments based on their mathematical understanding. This article aims at describing the characteristics of students' comprehension in constructing a mathematical evidence. A qualitative approach is applied in this study, which involves third-year students of Mathematics Education Department at the state university in Banten. Interviews are conducted to find out and clarify how the students construct and build mathematical evidence. The result shows that the students' mathematical proof of comprehension can be classified into three types: holistic-global, partial-global, and partial-local. It is expected that the result of the study can be used as a source of consideration in determining appropriate learning strategies that can overcome students' difficulties in constructing a mathematical evidence.

The purpose of this study was to find out about ethnomatematics learning among students majoring in mathematics education at Yogyakarta State University, as well as to what extent students' understanding, especially in applying ethno-mathematics in a learning process in the classroom. This study used a qualitative approach with the type of case study, the object of research was one class of mathematics education students at Yogyakarta State University consisting of 31 students. The results of the study provide information that students understand ethnomatematics but are still constrained by the implementation of learning. Students are constrained in preparing lesson plans and teaching materials where they are still unable to integrate cultural material into the mathematics material.

Abstract: One of the factors that may influence the success of the teaching and learning process is to use appropriate and innovative strategies of both online and offline. Therefore, the study aimed to describe the extent to which the lecturers of the English education department at Faculty of Teachers Training and Education, Unismuh Makassar apply innovative learning strategies to increase the students’ participation and the quality of the teaching and learning process. The study used a 'mixed method', namely by obtaining quantitative and qualitative data. The research subjects were lecturers of the English language education department with the criteria that they had obtained an educator certificate. The research instrument used a questionnaire to answer the problems and to achieve research objectives. Data analysis was performed using descriptive statistics. The results showed that the innovative teaching strategies used by the lecturers were cross over teaching, teaching through smart boards, flipping classrooms, collaboration, virtual reality, cloud computing, inquiry-based teaching and problem-based learning.

Abstrak Penelitian ini dilakukan karena proses pembelajaran di laboratorium Biologi IAIN STS Jambi yang masih minim sarana prasarana yang ada di laboratorium, sehingga menghambat proses pembelajaran khususnya untuk mata kuliah Morfologi Tumbuhan. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan buku ajar praktikum dan mengetahui praktikalitasnya. Jenis Penelitian ini adalah penelitian pengembangan (Research and Development) dengan menggunakan 4-D Models yang terdiri dari 4 tahap yaitu Define, Design, Develop dan Disseminate. Karena adanya keterbatasan waktu dan biaya maka tahap disseminate tidak dilakukan. Produk yang dikembangkan berupa buku ajar praktikum yang divalidasi oleh validator. Produk yang telah divalidasi dan dinyatakan valid oleh validator, kemudian diujicobakan pada proses pembelajaran yang bertujuan untuk melihat nilai praktis buku ajar praktikum di laboratorium Biologi. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah data deskriptif untuk memvalidasi perangkat pembelajaran oleh pakar pendidikan. Selain itu juga diteliti data praktikalitas penggunaan perangkat pembelajaran ini yang diperoleh dari observasi dosen dan respon siswa. Nilai validitas produk 83,31% yang dikategorikan valid. Sementara nilai kepraktisan berdasarkan data observasi keterlaksanaan SAP, angket respon dosen dan siswa dikategorikan sangat baik atau sangat praktis. Penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa perangkat pembelajaran di Laboratorium Biologi yang dikembangkan adalah valid dan sangat praktis digunakan baik dosen maupun siswa. Kata Kunci : Pengembangan, buku ajar praktikum, laboratorium biologi Abstract [The development of a course book for plant morphology at biology laboratory] This research was triggered by the limited facilities of the biology laboratory at the State Institute of Islamic Studies Sulthan Thaha Saifuddin Jambi which became a constrain in the teaching and learning process of Plant Morphology classroom sessions. The objective of this research was to develop a course book as well as to reveal its practicality. The researcher did a research and development using 4-D Models consisting of four stages namely; define, design, develop, and disseminate. Considering the limitation of time and finance, the disseminate stage was not executed. The test revealed the validity score of the product was 83,31% which categorized as good. For its practicality, the product was considered as very good based on observation of lesson plan execution and lecturers’ and students’ response. In summary, the course book developed for the course at Biology Laboratory was categorized as valid and practical to be used by both students and lecturers. The objective of this research is to know new decisions about the teaching and learning process in the context of the pandemic in the state of Amazonas, Brazil. The pandemic suspended classroom classes at more than 200 schools, causing the reorganization of pedagogical practices in distance education. The result was the applicability of the Special Regime of Non-Attendance Classes adopted by the Government of Amazonas (Aula em Casa Project). It is concluded that new directions can be taken from formal education in view of this new reality.

Intending to improve the teaching and learning of the notion of mathematical proof this study seeks to uncover the kinds of flaws in postgraduate mathematics education student teachers. Twenty-three student teachers responded to a proof task involving the concepts of transposition and multiplication of matrices. Analytic induction strategy that drew ideas from the literature on evaluating students’ proof understanding and Yang and Lin’s model of proof comprehension applied to informants’ written responses to detect the kinds of flaws in postgraduates’ proof attempts. The study revealed that the use of empirical verifications was dominant and in situations. Whereby participants attempted to argue using arbitrary mathematical objects, the cases considered did not represent the most general case. Flawed conceptualizations uncovered by this study can contribute to efforts directed towards fostering strong subject content command among school mathematics teachers.

This article aim to analyze Ibn Khaldun's thoughts on education and its relevance to modern world education. This research uses qualitative approach (Library Research) by analyzing the sources collected and summarized in the article. Result this research shows that education is not only a teaching and learning process that is limited by time and space, but education is a process where students are able to live, absorb and even capture natural events throughout the ages. Ibn Khaldun's thoughts are also very relevant to modern education when viewed from various aspects, namely educators, learning methods, curriculum and educational goals. Positive impact What is expected from the results of this study is the adoption of the concept of Modern Education with the Concept of Education according to Ibn Khaldun.

This research was aimed at answering about globalizing challenges citizen, especially young citizen. Teaching and learning in higher education including Citizenship Education is still conventional emphasizing learning process as the process of inculcating the value of smart and good citizen mainly related to the establishment of global competence of citizens. This study uses qualitative approach to explore the meaninful of practices and sciences of Citizenship Education as character education and global competencies of citizens. Practically, this research was expected to provide for practitioners and scientists of education, especially for Citizenship Education as character development courses in college, especially in the formation of global competencies of young citizens.

ResumoO presente estudo é uma pesquisa bibliográfica inspirada no Estado do Conhecimento, tendo como objetivo compreender focos temáticos nas produções acadêmicas que utilizam/abordam o ensino de matemática através da resolução de problemas. Para tanto, realizou-se um mapeamento das produções acadêmicas publicadas nos periódicos: BOLEMA, Boletim GEPEM, Zetetiké, Educação Matemática em Revista e Educação Matemática Pesquisa, entre janeiro de 2011 e junho de 2019. De um modo geral, percebemos uma variedade de estudos contendo diferentes perspectivas discutidas e abordadas tanto na educação básica quanto no ensino superior.  A partir deste trabalho, é possível ampliar o entendimento sobre a temática, fortalecendo a ideia de que esta pode potencializar o processo de ensino e aprendizagem de matemática.Palavras-chave: Resolução de problemas, Mapeamento, Educação matemática.AbstractThe present study is a bibliographic research inspired by the state of knowledge, aiming to understand thematic focuses on academic productions that use/approach teaching mathematics through problem-solving. For this purpose, we mapped the academic productions published in journals: BOLEMA, Boletim GEPEM, Zetetiké, Educação Matemática em Revista, and Educação Matemática Pesquisa, published between January 2011 and June 2019. The obejectives of this research are to know the improvement  of the students’ achievement in poetry mastery and their perception regarding to the semiotic method in teaching and learning poetry in  English Education Department, Languages and Art Faculty of State University of Medan. The research method used is the Classroom Action Research (CAR). The subjects of the research are the fifth semester of 37 students of 2013/2014 academic year. The data are collected by test in order to know the students’ achievment in poetry mastery. The students’ perception toward the implementation of the semiotic method for teaching and learning poetry is collected by questionaire. The data are analyzed by descriptive analysis. The result of research shows that (1) the average score of the students’ achievement of poetry mastery is (71.75) or it increases (11,59) point from pre-test (60.16) and (2) in general, the students’ perception toward the semiotic method for teaching and learning poetry are good and positive.

This study examines ways of improving Arabic's teaching and learning process by applying YouTube video clips as audio-visual aids. Eighteen Arabic students in Kaduna State College of Education and Kwara State University constituted the study sample. A descriptive method with Pre-test and Post-test was conducted. Data were collected through the essay writing, translation, and structure test. The data were analyzed through the descriptive statistics of frequency (f) and percentage (%). The study findings revealed that the subjects performed better and demonstrated linguistic communicative competence in Arabic. Finally, the study recommends that YouTube videos should be integrated into the Arabic teaching-learning process.
